Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

BLIND ME! The blinds in our master bathroom are about 4 inches too short, so every time I take a shower or bath, especially at night, I get nervous. I’m pretty sure no neighbors could see in with the angle they’d be looking from (geometry, don’t fail me now!) but still, it’s disconcerting. :)

We are in the process of putting fresh new blinds up in our entire house after removing the outdated verticle blinds that have plagued us for years!

I don’t have any bad views from my windows…A school yard across the street with all the cute kiddos. How could that be a bad view?
Megs says
BLIND ME! Our views are pretty secluded but there’s just ONE window in the house missing blinds. I’ve put it off long enough…
Katie says
Blind Me! Master bedroom and bath look straight into the neighbor’s bed and bath- yikes! I think we both need blinds!
Julie says
BLIND ME! We just moved into a new house, and could really use blinds in most of our rooms.
kate in Michigan says
I would love to re-do the coverings on our bedroom windows.

BLIND ME! Omgosh I sooooo need this!! We just bought our first house and I just put up cheapo curtains…I would love some great blinds for my living room!
Jessica says
BLIND ME! I need drapes in my bathroom — the room looks out over our backyard of trees, which leads me to treat it as far more private than it actually is!
Erin S. says
BLIND ME!
Our views are fine, mostly of our street or of our fenced in yard. I’d much prefer a view of the ocean though ;)
Ashley says
BLIND ME! Would love to replace the blinds in our bedroom to keep the bright street lamp light out!
Miriam Hill says
Blind me! My neighbors around the corner leave their back light on and it keeps us up at night. I need blinds that keep their light in, but still show off the windows that I framed myself – and did a darn good job on!

no views to complain about in current house, but in my old dorm in NYC i had a tiny window that had a lovely view of a brick wall. Would have loved to cover that up!

My in-laws live behind us. Enough said, right?
stacey says
BLIND ME. After 6 years of putting up with substandard blinds, some new wood ones would complete my condo!

BLIND ME!
We’re replaced most of our windows in our 1930’s row house but there are 4 left that could definitely use a nice covering to distract from their less than fresh condition!

Our two spare rooms face the street. They only have curtains on them right now because they are very long and skinny, so they’ll need custom blinds – which are way our of our price range! Would love to have more solid privacy from the walking neighbors!

I used to live across the street from an alcoholic drug addict who hung out on his porch all day. I wanted to board my windows up!
MCH says
BLIND ME! We have temporary paper window treatments- with HOLES in them and they have been up for 14 months!
stacey says
Blind me. Would love new wood blinds for my condo!
Julie says
Blind me! No horrible views to cover up, but with no window coverings on the 3rd bedroom and baby No. 2 coming, this would help the nursery budget.
Jo says
BLIND ME!! We just bought our first home and are in desperate need of window coverings!!

We lived overseas in large city a few years back. It was a tropical area so windows were thrown open each day to let in any breeze that could be had. By evening we realized the importance of closed windows curtains as we saw our neighbors standing outside of and peeking through our front window (which pretty much looked through all of the main areas of the house). Talk about feeling like you live in a fishbowl!

Our basement door currently has a cheap white vinyl tear-away shade on it. It was a ‘temporary’ solution THREE years ago. Time for an update!

I would love to block the view of the neighbors in the townhouse behind us on the top floor. The woman’s globe collection drives me insane, as that is what I collect myself. So many globes in such proximity (that I can’t have) drives me batty. :)
Sarah says
BLIND ME! We are in desperate need of blinds for the living room. :)
Sara says
BLIND ME! From our bedroom, we can see our neighbors’ house. They’ve remodeled the outside of their house to look like some sort of fort. It’s HIDEOUS, and probably cost them a ton of money. Luckily their house faces another street (our backyards are connected), so we don’t see quite as much as their next-door neighbors.

I would love to have new blinds :)
AshleyG says
BLIND ME! Our new-ish house has absolutely no window treatments still! lol! So this would be absolutely wonderful! Our last home was in military housing and I had our first baby. During those first few months I was desperate to have natural light in the house but couldn’t because realistically I was in a robe a lot and/or my boobs (don’t worry, never both at the same time) were hanging out as I was getting the hang of nursing. We had kids that ran through our backyard to get to the nearby park and school bus stop, plus every other window looked almost directly into someone else’s house. What a nightmare, but I definitely laugh about it now! :D
Gretchen says
BLIND ME! My kids wake up at the crack of dawn because they need some blinds!

We recently bought our home and with the existing blinds, any time you touch them, they fall out of the window. So I want to be able to see outside without a huge crash bang!
Maria says
BLIND ME!
I’d love to cover up the dining window that faces the neighbor’s house!
Kat says
Blind me! I’ve always been blessed with great views. Unfortunately, living in the city, got to keep the peepin’ Tom’s out!

Anyone on the sidewalk can see into my living room. I have curtains and paper (disposable) shades right now but it would be really great to have something permanent!

BLIND ME! When I lived in NYC we had a neighbor across the way who would stare with his binoculars into our apt every morning. Finally called the cops and he stopped! creepy

“BLIND ME!” Our guest bathroom window is a 27 by 27 normal window in the shower that looks out to our street! If you walk by our house you might see our guest showering! Even worse…its about 2 feet from the front door! Its temporarily covered with a tension rod and cut up plastic curtain. Looking for the right permanent fix!
Rebecca says
BLIND ME! Would love to replace the old blinds that came with my house!
Anna says
BLIND ME! My kitchen window backs up to my neighbor’s back yard. I never know if someone is watching me. I need to take care of this pronto!!
Leah says
Blind Me!
We have a new condo w/ NO window coverings whatsoever! It’s in the city, so there are neighbors all around and we’d love to keep prying eyes out with something a little more attractive than the sheets we’re using presently!
Maegan says
BLIND ME!! I don’t have any stories about window/view issues…. it was always the noises you hear when you are in an aparatment that get me. Some serious thing I never wanted to hear!! LOL
Jennifer says
Blind me!! I have a tricky door that needs something!!!
