Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME!
true story……The neighbor behind us mows year round… even on Christmas! He’s retired army, and does fake combat stuff.. like crawling on the ground and playing ramboo music!! He’s also put up these flag looking things made out of wood that stand atleast 14′ tall on poles to block the neighbors above ground pool… so we call him Gilligan =) We need some shades to go over our sliding door off the kitchen so I don’t have to be reminded of being in the twilight zone!!!

my dinning room and bedroom windows are both in need of some major coverage!

Our bathroom window is right above the drive way and has old nasty blinds on it now…ick!
Jane says
BLIND ME! We used to live in a high-rise, which was right next to another high-rise, so our neighbors could practically see into our living room and we could watch them eat dinner. It was pretty uncomfortable for the first several weeks we lived there — but then we just got used to pulling the shades at night.

Blind Me! We are building a new house and I can’t wait to add plantation shutters.

BLIND ME!
Our worst view outside is to the brick wall of our neighbor’s house, just a few feet away. Fortunately, I got that one covered. Now we need something for the window in the area I’m working on for the baby due at the end of February.

I too had a funny NYC apt experience where the apartments we looked out on had big clear windows in their showers. We were constantly (and unintentionally!) watching people shower!
Christina Chen says
BLIND ME! We have a huge window in our bedroom that has blinds that weigh a ton and so are hard to open. I want to get plantation shutters to replace them!
Kate says
BLIND ME! My husband and I live in an end unit condo. The second floor balcony (and guest bathroom) are visiable through our windows from the parking lot and the neighboring units. It is brutal in the winter when it gets darker earlier.
Andrea (Lil-Kid-Things) says
blind me! We are moving and NEED this!
Kevin says
BLIND ME!
Every window in our house has a different type of blind on it!
Jennifer says
BLIND ME! We just moved into our house and have since realized that when you’re standing in the shower, everyone on the street has a nice view of you. We are a very tall family so…you get the picture. help!!
Jennifer says
BLIND ME! We just installed some egress windows in our basement where we hang out ALL the time. Our basement is now a fish bowl at night.
Betsy Cain says
BLIND ME! It’s not so much that I want to cover any of our views — it’s just that we recently bought and moved into a fixer-upper and have no window coverings in the living room yet. It looks so bare. I’d love to have some pretty patterned flat roman shades that would add style in the daytime plus privacy at night!!
Kelly says
Blind me! My entire neighborhood can watch my every move through our very bare kitchen windows. Sorry, neighbors!
Meredith K A says
Blind me!
I have bamboo roman shades up on all the windows in our house, but the big picture window in the living room is 4 separate ones that are a pain to raise and lower if we want to watch TV during the day, so I would use this to hide some nice white venetian blinds or something similar behind the roman shades so we wouldn’t have to put them up and down all the time!

Blind Me!
I am desperate for this! The blinds for the window in my living room are thrashed. They were bad when we first moved in but then my 2 year old thought it would be a good place to sit (in the blinds!). Now they barely provide any privacy… Please tell me that if I don’t win you’ll at least have a great coupon code for me? ;o)
Karen V. says
BLIND ME!
I would love to put new blinds in my kitchen. The view is of our neighbor’s house and they are using a rubbermaid lid as a window covering – no joke! On second thought, I think I would invest in new blinds for the neighbors. Seriously, I would donate the prize to them if they promised to install real window coverings:)
Newlyweds on a Budget says
BLIND ME!!
I could really use some blinds so that we can get some breeze and open our windows without neighbors peering in!
Steven says

so my wife can add someting else to her “honey do” list
Melissa S. says
BLIND ME! No view problems, but we all need privacy at night when all can be seen. Thanks for the chance; we’re tired of crawling past our windows!
laine says
BLIND ME!
We’re putting in new replacement windows and I refuse to put back the horrible semi-broken mini-blinds that are in the windows now, so I’m in serous need of some new window coverings!
As for views that need covering, I once lived in an apartment with a big frosted glass window in the bathroom. I assumed that it blocked the view and never put up a curtain–after living there a year, I realized that even though you could just see silhouettes, you could still very clearly tell that I was naked in there.

Living room, big picture window, ugly curtains. Enough said.
Jenn says
BLIND ME….
I need to cover the sliding glass door off of our deck because people can definitely see in at night…but we just moved in a month ago and I have had higher priorities :)

I have no privacy at my house and blinds and curtains are the only privacy we get. I luckily have black out curtains in the bedroom so it is darker in the morning. It would be nice to upgrade them to something nicer.
Suzi D. says

I made curtains to cover up our basement window’s view of the (ugly) driveway.
Nutmegs says
BLIND ME!
We are lucky that all of our windows offer a decent view, but since our blinds in the basement have been destroyed by the cat jumping through them to view the outdoors, I would love to replace them.

Blind me! Our dining room windows look out over the neighbor’s barren yard…and her boyfriend who tends to let the dogs out in his bath robe.

Our bedroom has ugly wooden blinds from the 80s!!!
Melle says

My neighbor is constantly placing video cameras in his windows and pointing them towards our house. It makes me super uncomfortable! I would love to block his view into my living room.
Wendy says
BLIND ME!!
We live in a very nice neighborhood but the house directly across the stress from us went into foreclosure and is not vacant. So the view out our front door isn’t the greatest…
CarrieK says
BLIND ME!!
Our house backs up to a cemetery. Actually, very pretty… just a little too creepy at night for my tastes!

Blind Me!! My master bedroom windows face the open highway. So anyone driving by can see in, if the curtains aren’t closed.
Nicole says
BLIND ME! I need a new blind or shade for our front door. Our new doggie has totally ruined our current Roman shade, by chewing on it AND pushing it aside with that dirty nose of hers.
Jen says
BLIND ME!!!
All of our views are decent, but would definitely enjoy some privacy with some custom blinds in our living room!
Jennifer R says
Blind Me, I would get something new for my sliding glass door. It is needing upgraded.

My bathroom frosted window was supposed to be private, but one night I was on the driveway and my husband was in our bathroom and I could see everything! I was mortified! Needless to say a trip to Lowe’s was in store!!

Our area of Minneapolis has houses built very close together, so pretty much every window on either side looks right into a neighbor’s house.
Kristi J says
BLIND ME!
We live in a parsonage next to the church so we have our kitchen window (above sink) look right into the parking lot (over a fence) into the Fellowship Hall. :/ I would LOVE to cover this small nosy window!
Mara T. says
BLIND ME!
I’d love to get some beautiful blinds for our living room. I want to be able to let light in without feeling like I’m living in a fishbowl…
E.Lefebvre says
BLIND ME! We live on an alley, so we like to have blinds for privacy… Unfortunately we inherited so NASTY blinds in our rental and haven’t been able to find exactly what we want to replace them. What a perfect give away!
Kelly says
BLIND ME! I have a very small sunroom off my dining room. In the summer (in South Carolina) the sun can make that room feel like a sauna! I have been thinking about putting in some shades or blinds to make the room usable.
Barbara says
Blind me! From our neighbor’s binoculars….UGH!
Kara says
BLIND ME! We just bought a new house and have a beautiful entry way that is in great need of blinds… it has mini blinds right now… not pretty!

I wish I could cover the view of my neighbor’s trash cans.
Thanks

I would love to be able to shut out the view that my neighbor has right into not just my bedroom, but my bed.
