Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME! Much needed blinds in ALL of our rooms! We moved in January and have old single pane wood windows. Since we cant afford to switch them out just yet and winter is brewing in Chicago we decided to do the unsightly plastic on the windows. Yikes! I have a few left to go and would love to cover them up with some nice blinds!!

Last night after a hot shower I realized I left my robe & towel upstairs. Since I was in the middle of doing my towels in the laundry, I had to streak upstairs. It was on my way down that I realized my shabby old blinds were open … and I could clearly be seen by my neighbors! I need to cover that up, poor things.
Meaghan says
BLIND ME! I have some really ugly old wood blinds in my bathroom that I am looking to replace. I’m actually in the process of doing the bathroom over and love all of your advice on how to do just about anything related to this project!

Our bathroom window looks into our neighbors bathroom window!! ekk!!!
Heather says
BLIND ME!!! We have a bathroom that faces a highway that needs to be covered!!!!
Kathy says
BLIND ME!!! And…once I was staying at a suites hotel and they were evidently painting the outside of the building on my floor. So, all the windows were covered with opaque adhesive sheeting so we couldn’t see out at all. It was awful and made me very claustrophobic! Any view is better than no view at all…felt like being sealed in a box with no air holes ;-)
Tracy Jones says
“Blind Me” so our neighbors don’t have to be exposed to our private (naughty) costumes (if you know what I mean).

I need to cover up the double-paned windows that have lost their air tight seal and become all foggy and nasty with moisture trapping…I’ll replace the window eventually.

BLIND ME!
We have so many windows in our apartment that sometimes I feel like we’re on display! Although we’re on the 3rd floor so it could be worse… I still need window coverings to replace the nasty plastic blinds that came with the place.

With 3 kids (ages 5 and under) I spend a ton of time in my kitchen… but my kitchen window’s view is not enjoyable at all. It looks out on our side yard where our tent trailer is parked (along with a handful of my husband’s unattractive yardwork items). I have been fantasizing for a few months now about some sort of window treatments to cover it.

I’d cover the front windows so the dogs would stop barking every time a car drove by.

Even though our home faces a field, I would cover my bathroom window with something sleek and stylish.

I would really like to cover up the view of our neighbors’ noisy cars on one side of our house!

We desperately need to replace the blinds on our whole 1st floor… the current ones are dingy and dusty and just look gross.
Kay Marie says
BLIND ME!
I always love a window in a bathroom…but one IN the shower just doesn’t do it for me!
Sue M says
BLIND ME!! I would love to figure out a neat way to cover up our french doors so our neighbors can’t see in…

I wouldn’t mind covering my bathroom window! It has etched glass for privacy but sometimes I wonder…

Blind Me! We’re putting a master bathroom in our house. The room already has a window but it’s at standard height so we’ll need to do something for privacy.

BLIND ME! We are getting close to moving to our new house that has no blinds or curtains so this would be perfect. Plus yesterday I noticed that there is a clear view from the guest bathroom to one of the windows on the front of the house…when my husband forgets to close the bathroom door :)

BLIND ME!
I live in between 2 worlds. On one side, my neighbors beautiful, pristine home and yard. On the other… is it a house under all those weeds? Does someone actually live in there? creepy!!!
Emily P says
BLIND ME!
I lived for a year in a room that faced a brick wall. I need sunlight and fresh air-this window didn’t do it, but at least no one could see me walking around in the buff.

BLIND ME!!!
The chance to win this is so perfect right now! I’ve been looking for a way to cover my three small apartment windows that look out onto the community porch. It’s soooo awkward with people looking into my place all the time!
Aliesha says

I’d love to put some Roman shades up in our living room to keep people driving by our house at night from being able to see what we’d up to!
Heather says
BLIND ME!
I’d use the blinds (shutters) in our first floor half bath. The window looks out to our driveway and street view so aside from privacy, the shutters would go great with the slightly masculine Savile Row feeling we are going for!

When my son was young we had a neighbor that lived pretty close. One day I was in my son’s bedroom making his bed, looked out his window which looked directly into the neighbor’s master bathroom. There was Bob, in his all together blow drying his hair. I saw the rear view and thanks to a full length mirrow, the front are in one glance. Scarred for life.
Kelly says
Blind me!!!
I would put up blinds on our big front window…the other day my neighbor across the street told us that they watched us through the windows…and it freaked me out a bit. I don’t mind friendly neighbors…but prefer to stay away from nosey neighbors.
Sarah says
BLIND ME!
We would love to cover as many windows as possible as they aren’t the best windows and we’d like to save on our heating bill this winter! Thanks for the opportunity YHL! <3

It’d be really fun to get some great shades for our kitchen and breakfast nook!

The doors off of our rear kitchen face our neighbors back porch. Sadly, they are <20 feet away.

Blind Me! Our guest bedroom can be looked down on from the neighbor’s house.

We have no blinds on any of our windows–the previous owners didn’t use them. (Yeah, weird, I know.) Well, they did put these Redi-Shades up in the bathrooms and in one other room–they STICK TO YOUR WINDOW TRIM! Yuck. (We have thick curtains up in all of the rooms for privacy’s sake, if anyone’s wondering.)
Sara says
BLIND ME!
I’m sure my neighbors would appreciate us putting up blinds in the main room since the leaves of our trees are now gone!
Ginger Dunham says
BLIND ME. We have a view out our living room that looks directly at a block wall. Would love to cover it

I live in a condo, so while I have a beautiful and peaceful view of a pond from my living room, I really could use some blinds for privacy, as people are wont to walk around and peer into your house.

We’ve still got the original blinds that were in our house when we moved in and they are yuck-tastic! Sure, they keep peeping-toms from peeping-in but what a horrid view from the inside.
Adrien says

In my kitchen there is a door with glass panes that looks into our disgusting pit of a laundry/water heater/utility room. I would like to hide that view a LOT.

My DH likes to de-robe in the living room when he gets home from work and pile all of his clothes up on the stair railing, unfortunately he only checks 1/2 of the time to see that the curtains are closed all the way. Having another shade there would be wonderful.
Janet says

I would love some new blinds for my front, ground floor windows! I live in a rowhome in Philly, and am constantly paranoid that at night, anyone walking by can see me sitting on my couch, playing computer games, and watching trashy TV!
