Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Our master bedroom window looks directly into the neighbor’s house! Would LOVE to cover that up with pretty blinds!

Blind Me and blind my dining room :)
Angela says
BLIND ME!
I would love to put up some plantation blinds in my den for some extra privacy.
Mandi says
blind me!!
Our master bedroom windows are on the front of the house. So I have a “lovely” view of 4 neighbors houses. Plus if we don’t have the windows covered they all get a “lovely” view of our bed.
Allison says
BLIND ME :)
My husband and I live on a really busy street and our guest room faces the street so it would be great to cover up those windows. Right now we have some makeshift curtains in there but they look terrible. I’d love to make that room more inviting with new window treatments.
Teresa says
BLIND ME!
We’re lucky enough to have great views in our home, but I would like some pretty shades or blinds for our living room, which faces the street.

BLIND ME!
I live in a 1960’s ranch house with those wonderful chest-high windows that architects thought looked so great at the time. Now, they’re just an eyesore and I’d love to get some roman shades made for the one in my living room!
Selina says
BLIND ME!
We had to be out of our last house by a certain date and being in the ER the night before set our moving progress back quite a bit. I had bought bamboo roman shades for 3 rooms soon before we moved that I ended up having to leave behind because we ran out of time and couldn’t unscrew them. I regret having to do that because the cost of them can really add up and we’ve never been a “price is no object” kinda family. We now live in a home that needs them in 7 windows in the main living area alone, so winning this would be SUCH a blessing!
HeatherK says
BLIND ME! We just got new windows on our ENTIRE house and need new blinds so our neighbors can’t see EVERYTHING we do!!
Jamie Swisher says
BLIND ME!
I would love to cover my patio doors because my blinds broke last weekend!
Alison says
BLIND me! Our bedroom has NO privacy from the cul-de-sac behind us!
Magpie says
BLIND ME!
Both of the bedrooms in my tiny house have just one window each. They face into my fenced back yard, but it slopes up hill to neighboring homes… With a high enough vantage point to see into my windows anyway!! I’ve been planning to replace the existing (dusty, dingy…) vinyl mini blinds. This would be perfect!!

BLIND ME!
My last house, a rental, had hideous views into the backyards of our neighbors: to the left, an unfinished porch, weathered tarps flapping off the roof, a dog sculpture (?) buried in leaves so it was only visible from OUR yard, various hunks of downed trees, etc.; to the right, a two-story structure, probably once a garage, that looked like a mini-apartment house. That was unused, and crumbling.
So glad we got out of there!
Laura says
BLIND ME!
We have neighbors from all sides of our house. Window coverings are essential. Especially, in our master bath which has a window directly facing our neighbors yard!
Jennelle says
BLIND ME!
A previous owner of our 1960s ranch decided to expand the galley-style kitchen by taking out the upper cabinets over the island and making what can only be described as a window box on the end. It’s got three floor to ceiling windows, and is just big enough for a house plant (or two of our cats). The light makes the kitchen look much bigger, but it also means every single car driving down the side road has a view right into our kitchen, especially at night.
NancyY says
BLIND ME!
Our house is situated in at prime ‘kid loop’ position with one side facing an quiet alley perfect for the neighborhood kids to drive bikes around. While I’m glad we live in a neighborhood where kids can run free, I wish it wasn’t right outside our dining/living room side windows. I’d love some up/down shades to allow light in while shielding us from view of the kids’ peepers (’cause they have no shame at asking what we’re having for dinner!).

Blind Me!!
I really would like to cover my bathroom window…it is “frosted” but I feel like you can see straight though it.

BLIND ME!
We have 25 windows on our main floor–all covered in “hospital” mini-blinds. Enough said!
Jen T says
BLIND ME!
The one window in our bathroom is in the shower, and starts at chest height. So the first thing we did when we moved in was buy and install one of those stick-on window diffuser decals!
But the rest of our (many) windows are covered by adequate if uninspiring overstock stock honeycomb blinds that I would love to replace!

Blind me! I need blinds in my bathroom :)
Alyson says
Please, please Blind ME!
We’ve lived in this house 10.5 years and though we’ve changed paint and some flooring and made much of it our own, we still have stupid, bent, unmatching blinds everywhere. My difficulty would be choosing which room needed it most! Probably the living room combo (really two rooms) which has two huge picture windows and two huge single-hungs, and all need to match (and currently are light blue in one room and brown in the other 0_o ).
Amber says
BLIND ME!
We have a window that looks directly down our hallway. It is huge and very high up. I’m sure OUR neighbors are the ones that would be thankful! :)
kat says
BLIND ME! (please don’t blind me for real!) we’re looking for a new house, but i’ve been craving some room darkening blinds for our bedroom, since it’s already hard to sleep while pregnant.
Robin says
BLIND ME!
The neighbors have a perfect view right into our master bathroom. I have a cheapo blind up right now but I would love something nicer looking!
Alisa D says
Blind me!
I think my issue is less view and more light control. We have lots of windows and sometimes it’s almost blinding with all the sun!
Amanda Wright says
“BLIND ME!”
Our bedroom curtains are a bit too sheer for my taste. I’d love to replace them so our neighbors don’t get a free show!

Jennifer B says
BLIND ME!
The weirdest view I wish we could cover doesn’t actually overlook anything. It’s high up and an awkward size–so the sun comes in early, and the moonlight can keep me up at night. Right now, there’ s a pillow stuffed in it.

BLIND ME!
We have some beautiful white shutters, but the previous owners didn’t finish all of the windows and I would love to complete that project!
Tasha B. says
BLIND ME!
I feel like my neighbors watch me do my workout because I only have cafe curtains over the bottom half of my kitchen window! Full height roman shades would be lovely! Or wood blinds!!
robyn says
blind me!! from the glaring sun and the weedy pasture just past our backyard.
Cheryl says
BLIND ME!
In our last home (a rental house – we recently moved into our “first” home that we own!), the view from our kitchen window was our neighbor’s house and detached garage. A few times, while washing dishes, a guest of our neighbor’s came out of the garage and proceeded to relieve himself! I’m so happy to be out of there!
Carolyn says
BLIND ME!
Luckily I don’t have any naked neighbor stories, but I would love to fix the glare problem in our office!
Rhi says
BLIND ME!
My kitchen window looks into my neighbor’s guest room…I’ve seen some really, really uncomfortable things.
Sandra Blackburn says
BLIND ME!
Our new master bathroom window lines up perfectly with ‘the throne’, our deck, the kitchen door, and our neighbor’s bedroom window. We can SO use a blind give-a-way!

Connie says
BLIND ME!
Our worst view is the one from our French doors in the den, which reveals a pool in need of resurfacing and a fence in need of repair/replacement. Thankfully, even in its sad condition, the fence does prevent anyone else from viewing the disaster that is the pool!
Jamie says
BLIND ME
My bedroom needs more blinds to block out the light.
Jen says
Blind me! Thank goodness we’ve already covered our back windows… the view of the backyard behind ours is terrible. Plus, we call them “the weird people”!
Andrea says
Blind Me!
Our dining room window is naked and I’d hate for our “new” antique furniture to be faded by the midday sun.
Jennifer says
BLIND ME! I would love to install some new blinds or drapes we need both!
Tashia says
BLIND ME! I’ve got these ginourmous old windows that need some blind love!

our poor guest room is sporting semi transparent shades right now – and we have to warn guests to change with the lights off!

BLIND ME!
One of our kitchen windows are facing the windows of our neighbors’ living room and since we spend 75% of our time in the kitchen, I’d love to find a nice way to cover this window!
Thanks for the giveaway!

We literally just went to HD yesterday to get some blinds for our kitchen window, but apparently our giant window needs custom made blinds that will fit!

BLIND ME!
I would love to improve my view when the blinds are closed. All the bedrooms in our “new” 60’s rancher have ugly, outdated blinds. An update would be great!

BLIND ME! I currently have a few make-shift curtains up in the front of our house. One of which is on a shower curtain tension rod. Yeaaaahhhhh. I need some real window treatments.
