Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Blind me. We’re on the ground floor facing the street. At night, I sometimes feel like I am on a very well lit stage.

I will use the blinds to cover the windows in our kitchen that look out onto the busy street in front of our house. Why, you may ask, is she just now covering her windows after talking about it for 3 years? Well… there is the problem of convincing my husband that the surface of the blinds is easy to clean.
oh…. BTW… I loved the Umbra wallflowers you had on your site. I was in a hotel in Branson, MO that did this really cool art where it looked like butterflies were coming in from the outside. I was looking for something similar when I read your post. I did this with them.

BLIND ME… We live in an older house with large windows (so we have to order custom shades) and one of those windows allows anyone driving down our rode to look right into our kitchen and living area. I think its time we stopped putting on a show for our neighbors.

I’d love to blind my daughter’s room window. It has a view (and vice versa) directly into my neighbor’s living room window– and she has three pre-teen boys. It’s not a problem now, because they’re all so young, but eventually it could become “an issue”!

Blind Me! My daughter is in a street-facing bedroom, which is fine for a little kid, but we’re hosting Christmas this year and will have house guests staying in her room. I’m certain they don’t want to provide entertainment for the neighbors across the street…

Blind me!
We have huge pictures windows in our master bath that did look out on beautiful trees and an empty lot… now they look out on house construction. HELP! Need simple, classic blinds to cut out that view.
Lauren says
Blind Me!
The windows in our kitchenette have heavy drapes on them (that the previous owners made). They block almost all the light in the room, and with the dark walls, it is like a cave in there! Although we’re supposed to talk about a scene we’d like to cover up, I’d really like to OPEN up that room with some light. Having blinds would give us the choice to control how much light gets in, instead of being stuck with immovable drapes.
Katie says
BLIND ME!!
We need blinds everywhere in our house so badly! We recently purchased a house and it came w/ blinds but they’re all BROKEN!!
audibot says
BLIND ME!!! When I moved into my fiance’s house (which had been a bachelor pad for years), he literally had the windows covered with old blankets and towels. Some of them are still that way I’m ashamed to say. So this is necessary. Oh, the first one to go was a blanket with Stewie on it on the bedroom!!!
Kathy says
“BLIND ME!” My daughter’s room is at the front of our house. Her window is currently covered with a roller shade. I’d love to replace it with a cellular shade to provide privacy and let more light in.
Becky says
BLIND ME! We need a better solution for blocking our view of the street behind us (and their view of us!)

Headlight beams through our bedroom window frequently keep us up at night, so those would be our problem windows.

BLIND ME!!!
As I know we’ve already blinded our neighbors! We were so excited to buy our first home, a small brick fixer upper last February. But, we are still in need of blinds in both of our bathrooms!!! HELP! The sheets that are serving as temporary window coverings have got to go!
Angela says
BLIND ME!! We are in the process of putting condo up for sale and looking for a new home to call our own. Most of the bungalows have tons of light which we love, but in need of some serious privacy!!!
Lyndy says
Blind Me.. When we moved into our fixer-upper, the best thing about the house was the wooden blinds. Now we have discovered that many were damaged and “lipsticked” to look fine. So now we are searching for replacements.
