Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

We put roman Blinds in our bedroom, It has these huge beautiful windows, very close to the street on the first floor. We wanted to make sure WE weren’t the “naked people”

I am thankful for the blinds in my bedroom. Our bed is up against a wall of three windows that overlooks the parking lot of our apt. complex. Without those blinds (and curtains for added privacy)I would often be fully exposed on unsuspecting neighbors.
Stacey Bowers says
BLIND ME! Our first window covering priority was the window above our bathtub. It has frosted glass, but we discovered the neighbors could still clearly see whoever was showering! We cut an opaque shower curtain down to size and hung it in the opening. Now we don’t feel so exposed.
Sarah says
BLIND ME! I would cover the french doors to the back yard to help regulate temps~

We desperately need a set of blinds in our master bedroom. Our 1989 ranch came with a whole slew of metal blinds that I absolutely hate, but holy cow blinds can be pricey! I’d love to be able to sleep in a little longer with the help of some new blinds… :) I’m begging you!

BLIND ME!
My husband caught the neighborhood kids watching me dress while they wait for their bus in the morning! Apparently our blinds were more transparent then we thought. Now I dress in the dark!
Andee Duncan says
BLIND ME! I spent a lot of resources on my curb appeal this summer/fall. Unfortunately my neighbors don’t believe in raking and every time I clear my yard their leaves end up migrating to my side… perhaps some new blinds will help to keep my blood pressure down!

We moved into our old bungalow in March and are dying to replace the dog eaten blinds in EVERY room of the house!
Dana S. says
BLIND ME!! The view I’d love to cover is the construction in my community – there are homes still being built and the constant contractors trucks driving through just isn’t pretty! (But I’m still glad they’re building). =)

BLIND ME! We need to replace the hideous patio shades that no longer stay up so they have to be held up by ugly black straps…yuck!

Blind Me! All of our views are pretty great..but I don’t want people to view me in the kitchen at 1:00 in the morning in my nighty, cookie in one hand and milk in the other.

After living in our house for the past three years….I think its time to cover the kitchen windows which overlooks the main street into our subdivision. I know…I’m so slack!

BLIND ME!
I have a powerline view right now that I can’t stand! Birds sit on the powerlines, which I thought would make it better (at least it would be a happy-view) but the birds poop on the window! It’s really rediculous.

Blind me… I live in NYC and have wall length windows. It’s a no brainer- I need these!

I wish I could cover up my kitchen windows, but more for the heat that comes in than the view. Shutters would do wonders for my energy bill!

I desperately need some coverings for our lower level windows!

BLIND ME!
I would love to get new blinds for our office that will become a nursery some time before June. The window in there faces the entry walkway of our house. I don’t want anyone who walks up to our door to be able to peer into the baby’s room.
We also have a beautiful, bright sliding glass door in our family room that faces our not so beautiful trash & recycling bins. Right now the window has horizontal faux wood blinds that were installed when we moved in. Even though I’ve given them a really thorough cleaning, they’re just nasty and really don’t match any of our stuff.
Cheryl S says
Blind Me because I need them! I just moved on October 15th and the house I bought had no blinds! I live on a very busy street so I bought cheap Walmart plastic blinds for now until I can afford (or win!) better blinds
:)

This is exactly what I need to cover our front door sidelight & the sliding doors near the dining area as people from the street can see our dining area & maybe the food on the plate :)
Thanks !

BLIND ME!! We need blinds in our sunroom to turn it into an office.
Alisa says
Blind me! The teen next door comes home late and sets off the sensor lights which shine right into our two kids rooms. Blinds will only do so much, blackouts would be nice.
Melissa says
Blind me! Please. One time while traveling for work in Chicago, during our stay at the Hilton, there was a red beam of light aimed through the window from a bunch of men playing with a laser pointer. I kept ducking thinking someone was aiming a gun at me. Kinda scary. Kinda funny!
Mindy Clarke says
Blind me please! We have a new house and there is a large picture window in the front that needs something.. although I am not sure what yet.. and I would love dark blinds or blackout shades or something for my 9 month old sons room.

BLIND ME!
I used to live in a ground floor apartment next to the parking lot…we essentially lived in a cave, because we rarely opened the blinds. But, thrifty living then meant a downpayment later.

BLIND ME! I have a HUGE window in my kitchen, which is great, because it lets in lots of light. Not so great because I feel like we’re on display as we eat breakfast.

We live in a pretty wooded house so we tend not to worry about window treatments but I do like them for the aesthetic. I would put the blinds the two windows in our living room. There are sheer curtains there now so the blinds would just complement the decor!

BLIND ME! I have some windows in the family room that could use some dressing up!

Blind me!!! I would love to re-do our master bedroom blinds. They came with the house, and I just never changed them out because they are just “okay.” I would love an update!!
Leigh says
BLIND ME! I would love to replace the blinds in our bedroom. The previous owners did not cut them the right size and so they are too small for the windows.

blind me! I’m redoing an entire house and am currently “blinded” by the thought of all those window dressings!
