Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
******************************
And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Blind me! I have an uncomfortably close view of my neighbors’ backyard from my bedroom. No thank you!

I wish I cna have roman shades in my entire house

Funny story actually: A friend from NYC didn’t like hanging out at another friend’s house in upstate NY because he couldn’t see what was outside in the backyard. He was so used to the buildings being close (and neighbors looking in), he felt more comfortable knowing what was right there. He’d probably block the big open view of my other friend’s house!

BLIND ME! I am lucky to work at home and have a giant rectangular window that frames my back yard… I would love to stop obsessing that the guy in the house behind us isn’t watching my every move.

I need this so badly! My living room window is an odd size and I’m having such a hard time finding a blind for it. When I do… it’s out of my budget. :(
That window looks out across the street to my neighbor’s backyard…. which is always full of junk. I’d love to block that view. LOL

I would love to come up with a solution for our big picture window in our living room. We live on a curve in the road, so as people drive down the road we live on, they look DIRECTLY into our living room as they turn the curve. This wouldn’t be such a big problem if we didn’t spend almost all our time in this room. And our television faces the window, so I’m constantly feeling like people are judging us by what tv show I’m watching! :) I’ve even had a neighbor say “hey, I noticed you were watching Top Chef last night, I didn’t get to see the end, who got kicked off?” ACK!

I’m tired of looking at my next door neighbors unkept backyard! One of these days I’ll put up a fence, but in the meantime the cheapest fix is blinds!
Emily says
BLIND ME! I don’t need to block any views looking out of the windows, but I’d love a nicer view when I’m lying in bed- the ugly cheap vinyl blinds we currently have need to go!!
Sarah Migl says
BLIND ME! We desperately need blinds in our bedroom and bathroom. We recently bought our house and when the painters came we removed all of the hideous plastic blinds and have not replaced them yet. We have been waiting to decide what blinds we like. It has been almost 4 months!!!!
Abby says
BLIND ME!!
My entire house needs new window treatments and we are in the process of painting so our view is great, it’s the neighbors’ ability to view us that I don’t like so much!

I’d really like to get a shade for my office window. I don’t want to know that my elderly neighbor enjoys…mature movie selections?!

I’d cover up all views of our backyard since the landscaping back there isn’t just lacking, it’s non-existent. (oh, the horror)

I’d love to have proper blinds for the bedroom–I sleep in next-to-nothing and our current ancient blinds leave me worried walking around at night.

Blind Me….well living in Boston with most of the homes connected or very close together, window coverings are a must. We moved into a new home in April and I still need blinds in my Master Bath, it is at least 4 stories up from the street, but I do worry that people a couple of streets behind can still see in the windows.

I’d like to cover the window on my parents’ door. It used to have blinds but my puppy chewed them so it’d be great to replace them =)

Our master bath has a window that I love for the natural lighting it gives us, but my husband hates because he’s afraid our neighbors who live 5 acres away can see in. Really, Honey, do they use binoculars or something? Actually, maybe they do (creepy!!)…
Anyways, I would love to get some shutters for that window so we can get rid of the ugly blinds that are covering it right now.
Rikke says

Our bedroom has two windows and a sliding glass door that I love, but unfortunately that means that anyone who happens to be in our backyard (or peering over our fence) can have a lovely view right intow our bedroom. No thank you! We’ve put up some curtains for the time being, but new blinds would be lovely!
Jessica D. says
BLIND ME! The giant 6 lane highway to our house. Ugh, so glad that’s covered up now….
Tara S. says

Currently I’m helping my boyfriend update his new home and for some reason the previous owners enjoyed blinds that were all too short for the windows. So getting blinds long enough would help me feel a little less like the neighbors can still see us at night.

Blind me! I’d block the neighbors from looking into our kitchen! This would be great.
Wendy says
I’ve always been terrified my necklaces’d BLIND ME someday while running on the treadmill; some of those more modern, sculptural pieces are pretty lethal. But anyways, more apt would be slipping in the tub while diving to hide from the neighbors who have a clear view straight into my shower heaven.

I would love to block out the brand new cookie-cutter neighborhood going up right next to us, literally feet away.

I have yet to decide on a way to “dress” our french doors that lead to our desk. I love the light, but I hate that if someone were to show up unannounced (it has happened) they can see everything we’re doing at night.

BLIND ME! My fiance and I just purchase our first home (condo) and we need some sort of window treatment that will not be destroyed by our two cats!

Blind me! I’m working on a DIY bathroom remodel and could use some window coverings.
Emily says
Blind Me! Our sunroom blinds are so ugly. Help!
Anne says
BLIND ME! I would LOVE to cover the HUGE front window of our house. It looks directly out on the street and at night when the house is lit up the neighbors get a direct view of our living room kitchen and bathroom. Not a flattering view!
Sarah says
BLIND ME!
I have somewhat of a clothing optional philosophy and I have never seen so many people walking up and down the street as at our new house. I’m sure they would appreciate blinds. ;)
Nikki says

Saz says
BLIND ME!!
I need to cover my naked, crazy thin dining room windows. The neighbor behind us has a horrible flood light that shines over the fence and into our house all night long.
Sarah says
Please blind me! Need to replace the dingy blinds in our kitchen that don’t quite make it to the bottom of the window. This is the first thing people see when they walk up to our house. It’s pretty pathetic :)
