Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
******************************
And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Blind me please! I actually have coverings for almost all my windows, but what I really want are string free window coverings so I don’t have to worry about my kiddos getting tangled up. Even after using the retrofit kits I still worry about them. Help!
Kimberly says
BLIND ME! My patio doors off of my dining room desperately need to be covered, my neighbors are probably tired of seeing everything that goes on in my house.
Erin R says
BLIND ME!
We just bought our house and the old owners hadn’t updated ANYTHING since they bought it in 1983. The first thing to get the boot were all of the window treatments and somehow they have been the last thing for me to replace. Our living room is on display to the whole neighborhood (think 5, 5’x2′ windows facing the street)

and my neighbors…please! We only have sheer curtains in our master bedroom therefore we don’t on the light in the evening because otherwise the neighbors and others (we have a corner lot) can see straight in! We’re hoping to buy blinds after Christmas but your fab freebie would help a great deal. Thanks!

BLIND ME! I would love to get blinds for my bedroom. The sun is so bright in the morning that it wakes me from a restful sleep!

Please “blind me”! We live on the first floor of an apartment building in Astoria, Queens. The very very very old blinds that came with the place had to go (they are stacked under our bed so we can put them back when we move). I would love to replace them with the Key West Natural Roman Shades in Tortoise Shell- with privacy liner!

I would love to cover up the view of my neighbor’s monster trucks it their back yard. Sometimes it is nice to forget how redneck our neighborhood really is ;-)

John and Sherry, how I wish I could cover the view from the door onto my deck. I look right over on my neighbor’s deck. And I bet they wish I could cover the view, too, since they can see right into my living room.

BLIND ME! We’ve been in our house for about 2.5 years, and just can’t get rid of our uber-cheap temporary blinds upstairs :D — it’d be nice to be a grown up and have proper blinds to keep the neighbors from looking directly into our bedroom or the new nursery :)!
Kim W. says
Blind me! My computer screen is almost unreadable due to the sun glare!
Colleen says
BLIND ME! I have double sided Velcro that holds my son’s curtains together to keep the light out. I would LOVE black out blinds with no strings!

BLIND ME! All our blinds are dead. Horrible accident.
Heather says
BLIND ME! I would love to cover up the hallway window that looks right onto our street. I haven’t found the right window treatment for it, but it is the most viewed spot in our house. I’m thinking that a shutter might look best for that window…and maybe even the bathroom window as well. A little cottage charm! :)
Jennifer Durham says
BLIND ME!! The view out of my daughter’s window is of my neighbor’s fence and side of their house…not so pretty!!
Jenelle Williams says
BLIND ME!
We are fixing up our 1972 house, and have been for a year. And we still haven’t put up curtains or blinds on all of the windows! The first thing I did was tear down all the old ugly and dusty ones. We did finally put some on our huge front window so we don’t get too personal with passersby. ;)
Megan says
BLIND ME!
We have sliding glass doors that lead from our kitchen to our back deck – at night we can see the neighbors across the back alley on their deck smoking, and I can’t get over the feeling that they’re watching us in the kitchen, like TV! I’d love to have some kind of blinds to keep our kitchen private!
Sara W says
BLIND ME! I am decorating a new nursery and need some blinds in there and in the guest room. View of very close neighbor’s back deck – and motion-sensor security light. :-(

I put up temporary paper blinds (you know, the $3 per window ones) back in MAY! when we moved in. They are still up, but I’m in desperate need of a permanent fix.

Our kitchen needs new blinds ASAP! We have the same metal blinds that were there when we moved in 15 years ago! Now half of them are bent and they just look awful!
Sam and Jennifer says
BLIND ME!
My husband works nights, I work days…. We NEED black out curtains for hubby (and the kitties). With curtains the kitties can still climb behind them and jump up onto the ledge during the day to sun themselves, and watch the bird action outside. My poor husband currently has to listen to metal blinds being banged around when the kitties get excited while peering out….. Also, the upcoming winter would be cozier and we’d be more energy efficient if we had the warmth and protection from a curtain.

Last time I was in Las Vegas, I went cheap-o and stayed at the Tropicana. My view? The pool… ripped apart with backhoes, crisscrossed with palm trees strewn on the ground. Good thing it was Vegas and I only spent a few hours there a day, all of them sleeping!
Leanne says
BLIND ME! we have yet to cover our windows that face into our side yard, which will eventually be home to another house…with windows.
