Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
******************************
And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

My master bedroom faces the street, and I currently have a cheapie temporary paper shade covering it after the cheapie mini-blinds broke. I need something worthy of my bedroom!
Nikki says
BLIND ME!!
So, two things for this answer. Firstly, the window I’d like to blind is the bathroom. Right now we just have an ugly temp blind there (which hasn’t been so temp really) because our bathroom can be viewed directly from our neighbor’s bedroom!
Second thing is something I wish I could unsee. Our neighbor next door one summer night chose to mow his lawn on a tractor, with a flashlight strapped to the top, at 3 AM, in a THONG. Yeah…haven’t talked to that neighbor since…I *hope* he was drunk…
Shannon says
BLIND ME! I’d love to more attractively obstruct the view from our living room from the many passers-by.

I need blinds for every window in my house! We built the house and haven’t put up any curtains yet. Thankfully no neighbors too close!

We need new blinds so badly in our family room I’m so tired of the tiny metal ones. But as for seeing strange things in windows…our office is across the street from a hotel and apparently the people in the hotel don’t realize we can see in their windows. So we’ve seen some pretty
(or not so pretty) interesting naked people doing some pretty strange things that should only be done with the blinds drawn.

I hate looking out our kitchen window at the alley that runs next to our house- people walking/driving by can see right into our kitchen!

our entire house needs blinds. We still have the crummy metal ones that my twins bend up as babies. :(
Lauren says
BLIND ME! I would love some new blinds for our sunroom—we just replaced the windows, which are lovely, but they are currently covered by some very cheap, yellowing plastic blinds! It just ain’t right!

I’d like to cover the view from my bedroom window into the neighbor’s dogs’ poop pit. uhg!

BLIND ME!
I need a set of blinds for the two sets of windows in our great room so that I can run to the laundry room from bedroom in my undies without the front AND back neighbors getting a peep show every morning ;)
Great giveaway, thanks!!
p.s. I mentioned your blog in my post today. You’re a new fave blog in my Google Reader.

I’d like to hide the view of the boarded up/uninhabitable house right beside us, less than 20 feet from our house.

Our privacy fence isn’t quite so private, since it is starting to fall apart. Therefore, the vertical blinds on both of our sliding glass doors are essential. The previous owners put in blinds of varying heights (strange), so we’d like to replace them with some more attractive ones!
Beth says
BLIND ME! I used Roman Blinds in my family room to hide the fact that our windows look out onto our neighbors lower level just 8 feet away!

Our blinds are so old and cheap that they don’t really provide any privacy. I recently realized by walking our puppy at night that our neighbors can see everything we do!

The worst view I ever had was when I lived on Bennett Avenue in NYC and my kitchen “window” was non-existant. Thankfully, I had a creative friend who painted a lovely trompe-l’œil window for me – complete with blinds.
Veronica says
BLIND ME! We are expecting baby #1 and we really need something to cover the two windows in the nursery!

We have three small square windows in our den that we’re not quite sure how to cover. When the sun hits just right, you can’t see anything in there, especially the TV!
Rachel W says
BLIND ME! I’m not sure blinds will help, but my windows are so thin & inefficient, I’m hoping some heavy blinds will keep the heat in this winter.

I live in NYC and my bedroom window stares out on a cement wall a few feet away. It would be nice to have a natural wood or textile covering to add some softness.

I wish we had better blinds for our living room; it’s a huge sliding glass door. It’s the back of the house, but I still get creeped out that people can see in.

At my old apartment, I was across the street from lofts with huge floor to ceiling windows across one wall. Every time a new person moved into the building, it took them at least a month to get curtains. I think I saw every one of them, all five floors of condos in a naked or semi-naked state at some point. Some more than once. Oh city living.

My living room has one wall that is just large windows that face the street. While great for daylight, it makes for a fishbowl while watching TV in the living room in the evening…some blinds would be wonderful!
Kayla says
BLIND ME! Our bedroom blinds are broken from when I pulled on them one day and the whole thing collapsed. We need blinds so people can’t see into our bedroom at night!
Leigh Anne says

I’ve gotta cover the ugly venetian blinds in our guest bedroom – they’re the only window coverings in our house that we still need to replace!
Debbie says
BLIND ME!
Although the view from our windows is beautiful (we live in the middle of the woods), our bedroom window gets the full brunt of the morning to mid-afternoon sun, which is horrible when you want to sleep in.

I have a tiny bay window that is in need of some covering! It’s right by the entrance of the home, and the fact that it’s like a large peephole into the house isn’t what I was really going for. The only way to really solve it is to get custom shades to fit the tiny things!
Kaitlyn C says
Blind Me!!
My bedroom window lines up EXACTLY with my neighbor’s bedroom window! I have to keep the blinds shut or he can see right in… I would love to let the light in but I can’t without him getting a full view, too!
Katie B says
