***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***
Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!
Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.
- PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

I was looking for storage ideas for my jewelry and happened by the kitchen section at BBB. I used different sized ramekins to hold my bracelets, earrings, and rings!

I am using our washer/dryer pedestals to store our stash of paper grocery bags and reusable bags. The laundry room is right off the garage so it’s handy to have bags at arm’s reach on your way out the door.

I turned my jewelry into art with the help of some fabric remnants and a bulletin board.

We installed a ceiling track system that can suspend floor to ceiling/ wall to wall fabric panels in our open bonus room loft to create a removable wall when guests visit!

I hate questions like this… I guess making an earring holder out of a picture frame and some wire mesh. If not super creative, it’s been very useful.

IDEA ME! My most all-time creative idea was a device that connected to my brother’s wheelchair that held chalk, so he could draw chalk on the driveway!

I am still shocked when something creative that I attempt actually turns out. I recently did a bunch of stuff for my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding, including the invitations, favors, banners and used craft sticks to make program fans for the beach ceremony. I was surprised by how well it all turned out! And fortunately, they were really happy about it, too.

I’m not that creative, but with Lowe’s help, I hope to be! My most creative idea would have to be creating a quesadilla filled with some of my one-year-old son’s favorite foods: sweet potatoes, black beans, tomatoes, and of course cheese =) Enjoy one tonight!

This might seem like a no brainer but instead of scrubbing the yucky cat litter pan i use blech mixture and put the hose on jet and it sprais it all off :)

IDEA ME! Letting the toddler play with the dust-buster. It’s the light of his life and if he cleans something for me, bonus!

I’m the most creative in the kitchen, but I also love coming up with home projects on the cheap. Re-doing found/free objects? I’m all over that!

After a whirlwind of getting our foreclosured dream home ready for our daughter’s 1st birthday party our pool house was covered with plyboard windows. So I painted those puppies with chalkboard paint and decorated it with Happy Birthday love!

My most creative house moment was turning a pink tiled, pink wallpapered 1963 bathroom into vintage beauty! It is amazing what removing the carpet (EW I KNOW!!!) to reveal the original tile, removing the wallpaper, texturing the walls, and painting them a lovely chocolate did! Big transformation!!! :)

Idea Me! I need some serious ideas for my home office. I just started working at home and have been slowing trying to transform the former junk room into an office that’s actually… pleasant. My best idea so far was probably cutting up a big wall map into three sections, and framing them next to each other. I love maps and… well, I need to cover up a few wall scuffs!

Using electrical conduit to hand a wall of curains was pretty creative and much cheaper than actual curtain rods.
Jacklynn says
IDEA ME! Not too creative, but thanks to ya’ll I am getting there … getting creative by searching craigslist/garage sales for “new” furniture and can’t wait to spray paint my finds!!!

You know how it’s cheaper to get the big things of detergent (or make it yourself, but I don’t)? And how the cup gets gross from wiping excess off the spigot and all the detergent not emptying into the washer? Just throw the cap in there with the clothes (assuming you’re not using super-hot water and that you’re careful to find it before drying). I don’t waste detergent and the cup stays not-icky.

Actually one of my most “brilliant” projects was a recent one. I was inspired by a few posts to organize my fridge and freezer. It was one of those projects where I seriously could just smack myself for not thinking of it before (or on my own period). It’s awesome. I used labeled bins that I found at Target and the reason it’s so awesome is that they are long and narrow, so they serve as little drawers in a way. If you want to go through all your jars of sauces, then you just pull that tray out and there they are. Nothing stuffed in the back of the fridge where you never see it again!

My most creative ideas come from creating meals out of the wild assortment of leftovers in our fridge. I’ve found that lots of different things can go on pizza! Speaking of which, we’ll be having BBQ pulled pork pizza tonight, topped with pepper-jack cheese. Mmmm…

Most of my “creative” ideas are borrowed from others….drop cloth curtains, bead board backsplash (on my to do list), etc.

I’m not really that creative (I love pinterest b/c I can copy everyone else’s creative ideas!!) but I do enjoy making burp cloths for my friends with new babies with ribbon sewn onto cloth diapers.

the smartest thing i ever did was teach my dogs where to look for crumbs by pointing my toe…
now i don’t have to bend down to pick up any dropped food things… and they’re not underfeet by searching for any lost soldiers. they wait at the door till i point… then they come scrambling over to the goodies!
thanks so much,
love your blog!

I’m sure it has been done, but ages ago I started putting straws in yogurt tubes so that my now almost 6 year old could eat them. The idea clicked when I sent it in her lunch at preschool. Now everyone does it!

Idea me! After recently buying our first home (one that needs a LOT of love)I might as well sign my paycheck right over to Lowes :)
Jenn Prather says
IDEA ME! We had two doors to our living room from the hallway and they were offset by about 2 feet. So we closed in one of those doors, and created a closet like computer nook so that our home computer can be in our main living space! It saved us from having to close up the doorway with a new wall and solved a problem of trying to find a place for the computer!!

I bought over a dozen small rolls of batting while they were on sale to make baby quilts for all my friends who are expecting these days.
A baby-sized quilt is a manageable project, plus I love giving a custom homemade gift!

IDEA ME! After moving into a studio apartment from a 2 bed with my husband we really had to start storing everything in plain sight! This was quite the accomplishment, but we made it work through inventive storage, like keeping CDs in a drawer or utilizing behind the couch, under beds, and up high on shelves for more room!

My best idea was just letting go of the control freak and allowing my daughter to use the swiffer and the dust rag and clean to her heart’s content. What harm can a dry swiffer and a damp rag do, right? She was happy and I was able to enjoy her happiness.
