***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***
Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!
Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.
- PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

I’m probably most creative in the kitchen. My husband thinks I should try out for Master Chef, but he’ll eat just about anything.

I just got my boyfriend to make us that headboard on the bottom right of the Lowe’s Creative Idea board, except he ORBed it instead of staining to save time, hehe. There are very, very few creative things that I’ve come up with, but I’m pretty good at borrowing other’s ideas!

IDEA ME! One of my favorite ideas for decor was to simply grab some tumbleweed to fill two of our vases. It actually looks very cool and was free since it’s abundant here.

IDEA ME! My most creative idea was teaching my husband how to spray paint. Turns out he’s great at it and loves it – and it keeps me from getting cramps in my trigger finger. :)

My most creative idea was having cupcakes at my wedding, more than 6 years ago, before they became all the rage. Who woulda thunk there’d be 5+ shows on TV about cupcakes??

I made my son’s mobile out of origami animals and insects. It was super cheap, unique to just him, and he loves it.

I got creative with a homemade marinara sauce the other day. Let’s just say it was a one-time recipe.

Most creative idea … hmmm … It’s really not that creative, but it was different. As we hail from New Mexico, my husband and I wanted to incorporate that into our wedding as much as possible. So, instead of traditional almonds or the like for wedding favors, we filled little white boxes with red chile pistachios from southern New Mexico and tied them up with some simple red ribbon! I didn’t want to tie another bow for weeks afterward, but everyone loved it!

I also implemented a great Pinterest idea this past weekend. A framed piece of scrapbook paper with cute decorative letters from Michael’s for the seven days of the week. A happy, erasable, weekly menu board!

I think my most creative moment was when I created my pin board map of the U.S. as a way to display all the pins I had collected as souvenirs from family vacations during my childhood.

IDEA ME!!!! One of my all time most creative moments was when I came up with a company name and logo for a friend trying to start up a new business. It never went anywhere, but I still credit myself for the creativity. :)

Using the cat brush (instead of the vaccuum) to get all the cat hair off the couch. Works much better!

IDEA ME! One of my most creative ideas was the way I hid my husbands video game stuff in our living room

I would say my most creative was when I came up with a desk idea so my beads for the jewelry I make would roll off the desk. I took an old piece of cabinet grade plywood we had, drew a zebra pattern on, stained the necessary parts, added trim edge that allowed for a lip in black, expoxied the top, added adjustable legs and had a great place for beading and it keeps my beads on the table if they spill, they roll away or drop.

Idea Me! One of my most creative and useful ideas was to turn an old desk into a bar. We moved it into the corner of our living room, decked it out with the liquor on a fancy metal try with barware and it looks great. I love re-purposing something old for new.

My best idea was to remove our old (non-functional) trash compacter and use the hole in our cabinetry for the regular trash and recycling bins.

My most recent great idea was buying extra long drapes and cutting/hemming them to fit my kitchen window. I now have extra fabric to decorate with for much less $ than had I bought the fabric by the yard!

IDEA ME! I think one of the most creative things I’ve come up with recently involves brownies! I was making brownies for a church event, and they totally stuck to the pan and were a real mess. So I rolled with it, threw them in chunks in a bowl along with whipped cream and made a brownie trifle that everyone LOVED but I secretly called it “Brownie Fart” because it was such a screw up at first!

I was inspired by your love of spray paint to tackle that ugly grandma-handed-down ironing board and the front porch wicker. Now if my husband will let me ORB the accents on the front of the house…

In our bathroom, there is a large window on the exterior wall. Because of the way the blinds are, you could “see” in from the outside/inside on the cracks. This was a problem when getting in + out of the shower. So, I hung some soft, flowing drapes that warmed up the bathroom and gave us privacy!
Sarah says
Idea Me! The creative idea I’m currently working on is making a slipcover for my couch from drop cloth-not an original idea, but a solution for saving a couch with great lines and ugly fabric.
