Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!
Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.
- PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas

IDEA ME! I turned an old science lab table into a fabulous raised kitchen island with storage!
Emma says
IDEA ME!
When we mounted our flat screen we now longer needed our too deep tv stand. Not wanting to spend a bunch of money but still needing somewhere to house our electronics I re-purposed a small dresser that was just the right depth. After stripping, staining, and adding new hard ware it turned out perfectly and only cost me $11!

We starting utilizing a much unloved towel hanger as a magazine rack in the bathroom. Simple, but solved the problem!
Megan says
Idea me!! Most recent creative idea was doing a makeover on an old wooden chair with materials I found around the house. Free projects are always the best.

A motion sensor light in the laundry room that connects our garage to our house!

IDEA ME!
I have a baby coming soon and I had no changing table. So I took a wood desk (that was hand made) apart. I added a few parts and… POOF… my very own (semi-free, less then buying one)changing table ready for baby Ezra!! WOOT WOOT!!
Lisa says
IDEA ME! Awesome giveaway! I learned that I can use an almond to fill in scratches in my wood floors. True story!
Melissa says
IDEA ME! My best/most creative idea was to bring home a third dog last year…. saved her little life at the shelter (she has heart problems and no one wanted to take that on) and she has fit completely seamlessly into my house and truly made me feel like me and my “furkids” make a family :)

I most proud of the ornament wreath I made with a wire clothes hangar and dozens of shiny round Christmas ornaments. It adds some bling to our Christmas decorating!
Emily M says
IDEA ME please! I know I’ve done some creative stuff, my family is always telling me so, but my pregnancy brain is kicking in hard and I can’t seem to remember anything! I could use the GC for some serious help with our master bath makeover that is about to kick-off.

IDEA ME!
For me, it’s been the ideas that I’ve been able to actually come up with and carry through completion since I learned how to sew 2 years ago. Myriad home decor projects such as throw pillows, and fun kids’ items, such as costumes and clothing.
Lisa says
IDEA ME! Love Lowes! I recently learned how to lay tile! We just refinished our fireplace and it’s no longer the biggest eyesore of the house!
jane says
IDEA ME! I painted a mural of the Chicago skyline on the walls of our guest room. It took me a couple of hours to tape everything off (I sketched the design onto a piece of paper first) and then a Saturday morning to paint it (4 coats!). I was never good in art class, so I’m super proud of this creative streak.
Marcy says
IDEA ME!
I was given a china cabinet that my grandfater made – it did not go with our dinning room decor so I turned it into a bookshelf by taking the glass doors off and toy storage in the kids game room. It is perfect as we have tons of books and the drawers and cabinets have lots of storage space. And I get to see my children enjoy it and know their Great-Grandfater would love it too.
Emily B. says
Idea Me…. I’m pretty handy in the kitchen. Decorating? Not so much.
Jessi says
IDEA ME, please!
The best bit of genius we’ve come up with lately is the voice-activated light for our bedside table. The instructions said to program it to respond to “Computer on,” which we dutifully did. But lately our magic light has been answering more to “Anita on,” than anything with computer.
Don’t even ask how we discovered that little trick! Exhaustion makes you do funny things :/
Allison Brown says
IDEA ME!
Attaching a largae piece of cork board to the wall to make a giant push board. As a teenager it was a great way to express myself without ruining my walls!
Julia says
IDEA ME!!
StaCy says
Idea ME! umm I backed our bookshelves with burlap?? Not that creative if you ask me, but I couldn’t think of anything more exciting to share…

My favorite of our ideas was transforming an old dresser into a Restoration Hardware-like vanity for the bathroom.
Trista says
Idea me!
I think my most creative idea was painting a fork, spoon and knife white, mounting them on fabric and putting them in a white frame to use as art in the kitchen.
Sarah @ w30 says
IDEA ME: By happy accident, I created a simple and healthy recipe that tastes exactly like froyo (the pinkberry, yegoot, whateveritiscalledinyourarea variety). Still perfecting the recipe, but it is saving me a lot of money! ;)
Rachel says
IDEA ME! Not my most creative, but it was my idea to turn our tiny kitchen and tiny dining room into a nice sized eat in kitchen! It gave us at least twice the amount of storage space, we added installed a dishwasher, and we got to pour our own concrete counter tops.
Amy D. says
IDEA ME!
My creative claim to fame is when I made an earring holder out of an antique frame and material used for screened in porches (from Lowes).
Penni McNamara says

IDEA ME!
When I lived in a dorm I had about 5 permanent mirrors around that couldn’t be taken down or damaged and they were highly annoying so I got some expo markers and decorated them with inspiring messages and all sorts of fun doodles. Made it fun and not so boring all the time and wiped right off.
Ellen says
IDEA ME!
I don’t know how creative this is, but one recent mini-home improvement we made is putting an extra shelf in the laundry room. There was one shelf above the washer and dryer and then all this wasted space up to the ceiling. So we finally put one more shelf up and voila! Tons of storage space. It allowed me to finally clean out the extra bedroom so we can turn it into a nursery! Definitely made my week, every day I’d walk in there and just admire the organization and function of it. :)

IDEA ME!!!!!
My most brilliant idea lately was redrawing the plans for the upstairs of our new home that is under construction. I didn’t like the original plan, so I moved walls and expanded some areas to allow for nice sized bedrooms and double sinks in the kiddo’s bathroom!
Nicky H says
Idea Me! Hmmm, I’m not good with ideas because I assume everything I know, everyone else knows too. lol How about making grocery store bags out of dishtowels I found on sale? :)
Ashley says
IDEA ME!
Those shiny purse hooks you can buy in the checkout line at Bed Bath and Beyond? I bought them my freshman year of college. For five years they’ve held everything from towels (under my lofted bed), to jewelry (to use the underside of a shelf on the wall), to purses (for storage in the closet), to scarves (also closet storage) and they are currently holding kitchen brushes on the shelf above my sink. The most useful $5 I ever spent!
Ashlene M says
IDEA ME… My great idea is my made up pasta dish. Which has peas, proscuitto, alfredo sauce and cavattpi noodles, hubby’s favorite!
Courtney says
IDEA ME!
One of our pups recently had surgery and has to wear an Elizabethan collar, which he HATES. I realized that if I put peanut butter on one finger and hold it in front of the cone, he pushes his head through on his own to get his treat! No more wrestling the plastic cone of doom onto his head :)
Kellie says
IDEA ME!
I definitely got my creative juices going for our Old Hollywood themed wedding. We were married at an art deco theatre and I found a movie poster marquee with blinking lights on ebay. We had our own movie poster made for the big day from a vintage-themed photo shoot and the name of our movie was “New Years Newlyweds.” It was a definitely a big hit!!
Ginner says
Idea me! One of my most creative ideas was decorating my bathroom at Christmas. Its a room that normally gets neglected, but it turned out to be my favorite room at Christmas.
Kimberly says
IDEA ME! Creative moment….
I modified the drawered bases of my boys’ twin captain beds and stacked them on top of each other then added a top to make a dresser for one of their rooms. The older son moved into his own room…. :(. They grow up too fast.
Emily says
Idea me! Nothing huge but I’m very excited about recently turning an ill fitting 25 cent turtleneck into a scoop neck, half sleeve shirt that fits great!
Michelle M. says
IDEA ME!
It’s hard to have creative ideas when you’re constrained to an apartment lease, but I think my best friends became extension rods that were easily removable, economical, and let me cut off ugly clutter.

I like to find creative ways to use the beautiful pitchers I collect, such as using them as a pencil holder or a vase.

IDEA ME! I recently moved an armoire into the kitchen for extra storage. It looks great and holds all my pots & pans, the slow cooker, food processor etc. Also made a curtain to hide the recycling. Both things have made a huge impact on my sanity!
