Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!
Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.
- PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas

Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?

IDEA ME…!
I’m not very creative, but I make a lot of flavor swaps in recipes. I bake a lot, and end up with yummy combinations like pumpkin-chocolate chip cupcakes!

We lived in a little 2 bed condo and had no space for a recycling bin– So we put a big bin in our lil’ patio right outside our kitchen window– it was so convenient to throw recyclables right out the window, it was out of sight and out of the way, and we recycled more than ever!

Most creative idea for decorating was hanging two solid, 1/4 thick placemats on the wall as art for our bathroom- they fit in perfectly, and no one has ever realized what they were. Best part- the steam never damages them in the least =)
Erica says
IDEA ME! My best idea yet was finding a way to include a half bath and wall-to-wall closets in a master bedroom of our cape code home. Hellloooo knee-walls!
Gretchen says
IDEA ME:
It would have to be our Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Bathroom.

IDEA ME! My dad taught me a trick of which he is very proud, to tie a rag around a slow-dripping pipe so the droplets evaporate into the air. So easy and cheap!

I’m a special ed. teacher so I’m forced to have creative ideas everyday. I wouldn’t be able to pick one! :)

IDEA ME!!!
The insane idea to turn our soooo outdated master bathroom into a cozy 12×5′ nursery. Space is awfully limited in Chicago. I was happy to give up a bathroom (we have another full on the floor) if it meant not having to share my room with my infant. It’s been awesome!

IDEA ME! my most creative thing was painting and updating an old dresser of my grandmother’s. :)

IDEA ME! One of my favorite tricks is using a piece of scotch tape before nailing anything into the wall to keep the plaster or drywall from crumbling!

IDEA ME!
I was overflowing with creative ideas for our wedding. I was unstoppable!
Laura says
Idea me! My boyfriend and I started a chore recording sheet to mark down each time one of us did a chore around our house. It makes it much easier to track the last time that everything was cleaned and prevents one person from doing everything or nothing!

IDEA ME!
I made my own wedding invitations. They came out beautiful. Now I’m on to creating my thank yous.
Stacy says
IDEA ME! I find fabric very inspirational and can whip up different things with it.

“IDEA ME” I lived in a house in Uganda that had too much sand mixed into the concrete walls so if you scratched the walls the sand would come pouring out. I used chewed gum to keep the sand back whenever I wanted to put a nail in the wall.

IDEA ME (please)!
My ideas usually involve party planning. My current favorite: using pretty taper candle holders to hold the toothpicks for an appetizer.
Thanks for doing the giveaway!

Years ago in a rental apartment I cut out paper shapes and taped them on the walls in brightly colored paths. That was before wall decals were all over the place. It made the apartment so cheerful and I thought it was pretty creative!

I like to think that I haven’t exactly had my best idea yet! haha

Yea the whole dog eating what has dropped on the floor is great. My daughter can be messy, so I just point our dog “Sadie” over to the area and voila! Mess is gone! Haha!

I’m not sure it’s my most creative ever, but I’m pretty proud of how I got one of my students to shape up in class today – I told him to write me a one page paper on why he didn’t deserve a demerit for his behavior. Shut him up and got him writing all at once!

One creative project was the circus tent I created in our dining room for my son’s first birthday. I used the chandelier as the center, and had alternating yellow & red plastic tableclothes draped to the outside walls of the room (bought rolls of the table cloth plastic). Such a cool effect!

IDEA ME!!! I’m not super creative, but between Pinterst and blogging, I have lots o’ ideas that I could use this gift card for!!!! Maybe it’s my lucky day :)

IDEA ME! We turned one of our bedroom closets into an office.

IDEA ME! We recently added a mudroom onto our laundry room. My husband was going to put beadboard behind the hooks where our coats hang. I worried about all the scratches/smudges on the paint and instead suggested using roofing tin as the backboard. It looks so industrial and cool and virtually indestructable! And we got it at LOWE’S! :)

I used a calendar discounted to $2.99 after the New Year to get great framable photos for my wall. People ask me all the time if I took the photos. Ha!

IDEA ME!!!
My most creative idea was framing pictures of my dog in different stages of her life on the wall showing how she has aged. It is neat to show how cute she was as a puppy and still be just as cute as she grows.

Idea me! I am completely devoid of any creative ideas i.e. i keep people like you in business :)

IDEA ME!! I’m always having crazy ideas. Much like your quilt you made where someone took over your body. I look back and think “What the hell made me decide to do that?” Oh well, it’s either genius or complete idiocy.

I am most creative when it comes to scrapbooking!

Since my almost two year old won’t let me be until I “address” the front loader washer after it has completed a cycle, I have given him the job of putting all of the clothes in the washer into the dryer. He does it one. piece. at. a. time. It takes forever, but he loves it and I don’t have to do it!
Jen says
IDEA ME!
I use a shower curtain to hang laundry on in the laundry room — those undryable pieces.

I took an old painting on a canvas from a thrift store, painted over it with white primer, and then did “art” of my own with masking tape, paint, and… shoe polish. It actually looks good!
Taylor says
IDEA ME! One creative idea that I had recently was to go to Goodwill (yes, Goodwill!) for all of the artwork in my house. From exploring about 5 or 6 Goodwill stores, I got 6 different beautiful LARGE framed paintings for a total of $115. I only loved the frames and mats for a couple and not the picture inside, so I changed out the painting with prints I already had, or did a simple abstract painting myself, stuck it in, and let the beautiful frames do the talking. I had NO IDEA you could find such beautiful artwork at Goodwill!! Two of my favorites are HUGE (6 ft x 3 ft), triple-matted custom-framed pieces (says so on the back) that had to have cost hundreds originally… they sit side by side and are an incredible focal point in my house!

My most creative idea was wrapping our dogs in saran wrap to reduce the amount of time spent sweeping and vacuuming. While it was a great idea, the execution was a bit challenging!
I kid ;) We love our animules, hair and all!

IDEA ME!
I would probably say my most creative idea was the sign-in “book” we had for our wedding. My then-fiance, now-husband and welder-extraordinaire, Tanner, created a dreamy, twisty tree out of metal and then painted it gold. I created tons of leaves out of different shades of purple and green paper, looped a piece of ribbon to each, and then our guests signed a leaf and hung it on the tree!
