***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***
Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!
Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.
- PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…

Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

IDEA ME! I cover my box spring with a fitted sheet rather than a frumpy dust ruffle, and it blends in very well!

IDEA ME! when making chicken enchiladas, I’ll use a rotisserie chicken from the grocery instead of cooking my own. I’m such a cheater!!!
Leslie says
IDEA ME- I painted stripes on my guest bedroom walls- I saw the idea in a magazine and I’ve inspired several friends to do the same or some sort of variation.

There’s nothing better than sprucing up things around the house. Whether it’s painting an old picture frame or lamp. It’s nice to see old boring things come to life again.

IDEA ME! I’m not the most creative, but I’m proud of the creative pieces that we did for our wedding. Now I need a little help around the house!
Missy says
Idea me, please.
I am so not creative. I am resourceful, though. I love to “repurpose” items….like turning one side of a wardrobe into a gift wrap center…using cardboard rolls to slide ribbons and paper onto to store in plain sight, hooks for scissors and tape and everything is easily accesible but behind a closed door.

I used an old calendar for art in my daughters room. I glued it to canvases with the sides painted aqua and then stapled ribbon to each of them to hang them in strings of 3. I get tons of compliments on it!

My best idea as of late is to buy a white IKEA slipcovered chair and dye it. We have been searching for a fun colored chair for our living room but the ones we’ve liked have been way out of our budget. This way, I can spend a little and get the result I’m looking for!
I’m buying the chair this week! Wish me luck!

My most creative idea was installing a DIY beadboard backsplash in our kitchen and adding cute little corner shelves next to the windows. We bought decorative shelving brackets which we turned horizontally. They fit perfectly in the small space and created an awesome spot for candles, flowers, etc!

Idea Me! Greatest (most recent) idea is my diy concrete countertops for my kitchen remodel! $50 more would really help out to finish the project!

I love using pinterest and cutting out inspirational looks from magazines before I go thrift-store shopping. It keeps me on track and gives me the energy to plow through the mouldy aisles :)

My most recent creative moment was using a shower curtain and rod to enclose my rather open laundry area. Created an element of texture and is able to hide the laundry when needed.

I feel creative (or sneaky, whatever!) when I spend time reading and playing with my littles that I forget to start dinner and have to suggest eating dinner out so we get to eat before 8pm!

I concur with the using the dog as vaccum idea! And I know I have had some good ideas, but my brain is not working yet this morning.

Idea me ! Spray paint is my best friend , updating garbage cans , patio furniture , old frames , lamps , fixtures , furniture or whatever I can get my hands on !
Susie says
IDEA ME! I’m not uber-creative (like some these fantastic commenters), but I do try really hard to be creative and use what I have — repainted shipping crate as toybox, Goodwill frames freshened with paint, handmade (“borrowed”) decorations, etc. Maybe someday I’ll develop a bit more of my own creativity…

Most of my creative ideas involve storage solutions. I use over the door shoe storage bags on almost every door in the house for maximum storage of small things that usually get lost.

Becky Clark says
IDEA ME….My most creative idea was to make my own headboard. I took a piece of plywood, covered it with batting and my choice of fabric, and voila!, I had my own headboard.
James says
IDEA ME! My wife always calls me MacGyver because I am always taking scraps and leftovers and turning them into something functional. My last trick was taking leftover laminate boards and building a deep shelf for all the bags that accumulate in the pantry.

IDEA ME!
I needed a piece of art work for above my bed – but didn’t want to spend any money. I took an old (big) frame and gave it a quick paint job with a bright color. I then painted a canvas using…well, paint and painters tape. Then I hung the picture in the middle of the frame. Love it! Adds color and was FREE!

My husband and I found very cheap (like .15¢ sq ft) but very cool tile at a local tile store and were able to creatively lay them out to fill our whole tub surround.
Christina says
IDEA ME! Most creative idea was to make paper butterflies out of my daughters’ finger painting. I didn’t have the heart to throw away all their work, but our fridge was maxed out. So, I used a butterfly template from The Paper Source, and now their room is essentially a butterfly garden. They take pride in knowing it’s their work up on the wall, and I love how organized and beautiful it looks!
