It’s a shame we can’t take any major road trips right now (thanks to our wee one) since this week’s giveaway has us itching to head north to Kennebunkport, Maine. That’s because Spaces Kennebunkport– the shop behind today’s prize- embodies just the type of comfortable seaside home accents that Sherry and I love. Never mind that we can barely spell the name… we still want to eat up everything in their store. Have no fear if you also can’t make it out to K-town. Spaces Kennebunkport has an awesome
And not that we’re in the business of telling people how to spend their prize money, but here are some things we would totally snag for ourselves:

I love Maine and went to college there, and I’ve even visited Kennebunkport too! I haven’t lived in any weird towns, but there are a couple of funny other ones in Maine: China, Paris, Purgatory (seriously!), and I always thought Mount Desert Island was kind of an odd combo too :-)

I live in Boise, ID and the funniest named place I’ve been is probably peekaboo, ID. It’s named Peekaboo because if you blink you could drive right by and never know. It’s a fun little town!

MAINE ME! Although the post office decided our address should be Mineral, VA (a town over 30 minutes from our house!) we actually live about 5 minutes west of Dog Gone Road, 5 minutes east of Gum Spring, and 10 minutes south of Bumpass. I love the way they name things in Louisa County!

(Related, between my applying for a government job in Washington, DC, living in Rancho Cucamonga, and having an undergrad degree completely unrelated to government (music therapy) my now bosses thought I may have submitted a joke application. But they hired me anyway!)

MAINE ME! Looks like another great reason for a trip to Maine! It’s one of my top states to visit, but oh so far from Georgia. And my sweet little home state boasts a few odd names including Butts County and a city called Cumming. Awkward.

I’ve been to Hell, MI. And Gay, MI (they have a Gay Parade every 4th of July. But not that kind.).
I grew up in Plano, IL. The next town over is Sandwich. We always said if they put a town in the middle it would have to be Bologna. Because you know, a “Plain-o-Bologna-Sandwich”! (To add insult to injury, our high school mascot is the Reaper. Not the hooded death guy. The farm implement.)
And while it’s not a town, this sign (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jacobkrejci/3152521024/) always made us laugh.

Maine Me. Passing through New York in a town called Friendly, we received a speeding ticket!
