Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!
Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?
- PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

People have tried to play matchmaker with me. Huge failures. I happily found my own guy. So I guess I matched myself.

I’ve played matchmaker on 2 friends, they dated for 3 years and broke up this year. :( Oh well, I tried!
Taryn says
As far as match making goes, I would tell my friends to come sit on my and my husband’s couch. Once they sat on the couch, they would meet a girl/guy and end up married. So maybe my couch did the match-making?

And I, also, need to stick to my day job regarding match-making. Or maybe I need to try reversing it? Figure out who is the worst for each other and hook those two up.

MATCH ME! please please please :) What a great tool to go with their fantastic site
I tried the matchmaker thing years ago with 2 members of my bridal party, they ended up hooking up, but with other people from the bridal party – 1 pair even got hitched :)

No playing cupid for me!
Cassie says
Match me… I didn’t so much play matchmaker as I encouraged 2 friends to be more than just friends. Worked out great, they’ve been married 3 years and counting :)

MATCH ME! I once got two of my friends together for a high school dance. It wasn’t horrible, but it certainly didn’t go anywhere past that first date.

MATCH ME, please!
A friend of mine set me up with one of her online-dating “catches” over 7 years ago and it led to my SO of 5 years. Aren’t I lucky that she decided to be exclusive with someone else a day before she hung out with him!

I tried to play Cupid once. I thought 2 friends would really hit it off. It didn’t work out so well and they both constantly remind me I should stick to my day job.

I have a friend that always wants us to set her up with someone, but we never try because I know she’s picky and anyone we knew would not meet all her criteria!

The only time I have had a matchmaker experience was in high school-my friends always tried to set me up with their boyfriends (or wanna-be boyfriends) shy friends. It was always a no-go. I found my hubby on my own, thank you :)

I have never played matchmaker but I did play Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, so now I will probably have songs from the musical in my head for the rest of the week.

MATCH ME!
My fifth grade teacher was going through the process of becoming a nun but soon quit the program because she fell in love using Match Maker! Weird, right?
I also credit meeting my husband through a mutual friend who kept telling us that we needed to meet. We almost did, multiple times. Finally, he requested me as a friend on Myspace and claimed that we met before. I of course knew what he was trying to do. Five years later and we are happily married thanks to our dear friend and myspace!

A friend of mine played matchmaker. She matched me up with a friend/co-worker of her boyfriend, thinking that it would be great to have another couple to do things with. They didn’t last but…three years later we are still an item :)
(P.S. Thank you Jen :)

I played match maker in college. I set up 2 couples…for identity sake lets call the Sally, Betty, Tim and Bob. It was a triple date with the 4 of them, my then boy friend and I. I thought Sally and Tim would get along well and Betty and Bob. Boy was I wrong!!! In the end Sally ended up dating Bob, and now they are married. I guess you could say I am a good and bad matchmaker :)
