Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!
Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?
- PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

My friend played matchmaker once. I almost married the guy but it didn’t work out. I think staying away from matchmaking is the best thing you can do for your friends. LOL!

What a great giveaway! No, i never play match maker. People are too complicated and really who knows why 2 people hit it off? i’ve had friends that I thought would never make it, get married and live happily ever after and then there were folks that seem like they should get along great and don’t at all. Too complicated.

MATCH ME!
I was offended by the only blind date I ever went on, through a friend. Because it showed me just how much my friend *didn’t* know me. The poor guy was the exact opposite of everything I was hoping for.
Although to be fair, my husband also fell into that category when I met him, and we have been happily married 17 years :-)
Mary says
MATCH ME! My friend loves playing matchmaker with me–she did pretty well once, ok once, and BAD once. I was held hostage on the date and I just wanted to go home :)
Angie says
MATCH ME! I have tried to play matchmaker. Beast and Luscious are two Boxer’s that have fallen madly in love because I introduced their owners to eachother! If they have puppies, I get to pick one!

Tried (very subtly) matching my roommate with my boyfriend’s roommate in college. They didn’t seem to get the hint, so I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Match me! It’s worked once for me when my best friend thought my now-husband and I would be perfect together and spent a whole summer trying to get us in the same place at the same time. But I haven’t had much luck when I have tried to make magic happen for someone else.

Match me!
In college I went on a blind date with a guy who didn’t have a driver’s license so I picked him up. He also forgot his wallet so I paid for both of our meals. Then he wanted me to still take him to the movie as planned but at that point I bowed out. Instead of dropping him back at his house he had me take him to another girl’s house. I suppose in the end I probably got off lightly. ;)
