Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!
Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?
- PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

I played matchmaker a few times in my early 20s, but it was embarrassing for all parties and not very meaningful matches. Most people were trying to match me up with anyone that they knew who was single and that was just painful. Thankfully and gratefully now I don’t need to be matched up nor do I try and play matchmaker to other-I’ve learned.

I’ve had friends try to set me up on dates before…and It made me feel like they didn’t know me at all! Hahaha! “I would never be interested in this fella’!” But now no matching it required because I’ve found my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with him! :)

MATCH ME! I can’t wait to use this tool to match some photos to my guest bedroom. There are 5 empty frames on the wall. Yes, I hung them and didn’t put anything in there… yet.
The couple that I matched are married and expecting their first child! I’ve also decided to open a ‘business’ (aka hobby because I’m not paid!) to match people to pets in shelters.

My mom once tried to set me up with someone. He spent our entire phone conversation talking about how great and pretty and wonderful she was. Needless to say I did not meet him. I did, however, tell my mom if she became single again she should date him because clearly he was into her. LOL.

Match Me!
I guess my friend played matchmaker in a weird junior high-way way back when my husband and I started dating at the mere age of 14! In those days, we all spent our time on AOL and my friend, Shannon, make a private chat room for her, Doug, and I to go in. We all knew Doug and I liked each other but were too shy to do anything about it, so with some coercing, Shannon got us to “officially” go out with each other. It worked–9 years later we are happily married!

MATCH ME! My friends attempts to matchmake for me in college always fell through, but I did meet my wonderful hubs (of 21 years, I might add) through a mutual friend. So maybe “unintentional matchmaking” worked for me :)
