Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!
Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?
- PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

MATCH ME! i am the WORST matchmaker ever. i’m always thinking of ‘good’ couples and then all my friends or my husband will tell me what a bad idea that is. ha ha! and then when people get together, i’m totally dumbfounded at the match, but it always works out and they live happily ever after.
Ashley J. says
MATCH ME!!! I feel that I can always predict that a couple will work out or not. However, matchmaking out of thin air? No, it already has to be in the works before my predictions can be made :)

MATCH ME!!
I matched together an ex co-worker and my roommate at the time and what do you know…….next thing I knew it he was moving in! They eventually got married and had two beautiful little children. They are still going strong. I figured I can’t beat that success so I’ve never tried it again. Now if someone would just play matchmaker to me with the same success!!!!
Jenn Hannifan Diekmann says
MATCH ME! Yes, I have played ‘matchmaker,’ but it has never “stuck.” I’ll stick to my day job.
Krista G says
Match me! Closest I came to matchmaking is trying to set up my dog. We wound up prying them apart, snarling and growling…let’s just say there was no second date.
Vicky says
MATCH ME! I’ve never tried it yet
Jess says
Match me! I tried to set my BFF up with this “really great guy I just met” my freshman year in college. She couldn’t understand why I’d try and set her up with him, because she thought he was perfect for me. Twelve years later the really great guy and I just celebrated our third wedding anniversary :)

MATCH ME! I love playing matchmaker. I matched a couple up while we were in highschool (16 years ago) and they are happily married with two children. :) Since then I haven’t had very much luck matching anyone up.

I was set up on a blind date by my friend. He wanted to talk politics, I told him I had never voted (embarrassing? yes. I was in my early 20s if that makes it any better) The date ended with – well, it was nice to meet you!

I’ll just stick with matchmaking Barbie & Ken dolls, I guess.

No…but everyone is always trying to match me up with someone…apparently in the South, being a 28 unmarried woman is more tragic than a tsunami. (I jest…tsunamis are much more serious…)
Noreen says
MATCH ME!! I tried to start a match once…and got shot down by the guy right away. I think his words were “That’s not a good idea.” I’ll stick to my day job!

In college, my friends were trying to set me up with a guy named Eric. In the meantime, I was getting to know another Eric, and we’re now married (for almost 6 years!) with a precious baby girl!

MATCH ME!
I have a personal rule.. if you have to ask, I will not play matchmaker! I am fortunate (or not) to have a close group of gorgeous gal friends. So of course, my close fabulous guy friends are constantly begging to “hook them up”. What I wish I could say but am too nice to: “If I think you were a match, I would’ve matched you already!”. I usually can sense when a match should be made and do so as much as possible! However, if you’re bugging me to do it.. it ain’t gonna happen :)

My husband and I were matched up on a blind date through a mutual friend. Best blind date I’ve ever been on! :D

I’ve never played matchmaker and I’ll probably won’t. Unless I show pictures to each other before even considering! A friend of mine set me up with a friend of hers and what an awkward date that was!
Catie says
MATCH ME!
No, I have never tried to matchmake anyone, although others tried to set me up when I was younger. That was usually a huge disaster!
Lauren says
MATCH ME, I tried to play matchmaker with a bridesmaid and groomsman from my wedding but I didn’t push so nothing came of it.
Tabitha says
Match Me! No match making for me luckily in either regards. It would probably be a disaster!

MATCH ME!
It wasn’t on purpose, but my lifelong friend and my husband’s college roommate met at our wedding (they did the garter/bouquet thing!) and a year later they were married. They have three kids now. WOO!
