The only painting that I own was made by a French painter who painted on wood the image of a woman from Bretagne. My mom bought it for my birthday. It’s beautiful!

My favorite original art is actually a quilt. After our dad passed away, a local woman made my two brother’s and I a personalized quilt from his massive t-shirt collection. It’s one of a kind and incredible.

Paint me a picture! As weird as it may be, my favorite original artwork is my own. I love to paint with watercolors and almost never find the time for it these days with two little ones and a job. My own artwork reminds me other things I am capable of besides being a mom and taking care of my family. I hope to start back up again someday!

I have a painting that my husband’s grandmother painted in our half bath that I absolutely love and it means a lot that she painted it herself.

Paint me a picture! I just finished painting a series of 4 small canvases with silhouets of my husband and our two dogs. It was super easy to do and is a fun way to display a “family picture” in our home!

Currently, the only type of art we have in our home is photography. One of my clients goes to Hawaii frequently and takes pictures of old churches there. I bought several photos from him, and he used photoshop to make the photographs look like paintings. It’s really cool to look around and see images of old churches, and it’s also very fitting since my husband will be applying to seminary!

My favorite artwork was done by my sister — it’s two small prints with the phrases “Love is All We Need” and “Yes We Can” embedded in a maze of lines. You have to really look at them to read the phrases.

Paint me a picture! I don’t have any “art” right now. I have lots of photographs framed all over (it’s a hobby). I don’t usually like the art I see, but something made just for me would be fantastic.

My favorite piece of art work is a card my sweet husband drew me for Valentine’s day the year we were so broke we couldn’t even justify a trip to Hallmark.
The gesture is so unlike him and very sweet.

My husband took a picture of the city view from the top of our apartment building. We had it blown up and printed on a canvas and then we stretched it ourselves. It’s definitely my favorite piece of art in our house!

My favorite original art pieces are photographs my husband and I have taken on our travels. We have a whole wall filled with cool shots of foreign architecture, picturesque beaches, and other spots we’ve been togehter. I’m nowhere close to a professional photographer, but its still my favorite wall in our apartment!

A pop art style picture of my Jack Russell painted on a 2 x 12 piece of wood. I happen to be an artist also but only live with that piece of work that is mine. I like it because of the subject, more than the artist. That saying about an artist is your own critic is true for me.

My favorite piece of art is a portrait of an African crane set on a grass green background. I met the artist and got him and admired the painting daily at his studio right next to my office..when I got married he brought it over as a sweet wedding gift. “The bird,” as my daughter calls it, now has a permanent place in our home!

In May of 2009 we took a trip to Tofino, B.C. and got married on the beach wearing sunglasses and jeans. No fuss, no stress… just us, the JP and two Chambermaids as witnesses. The perfect wedding and honeymoon!!
Later that day, in celebration we went to an art gallery and bought a beautiful painting by Darla Reid.
This particular painting is of a tree in incredible shades of red and symbolized for us the coming together of our two families. That night we contacted our 6 children and our closest friends to share the news :)
Though we have other paintings and prints hanging on our walls this is my favorite piece. I would so love to have another painting to add to ‘our’ collection.
Thank you for sharing this incredible opportunity!

We have an amazing acrylic painting at home that currently sits, waiting to be hung. It’s extra-special since it was passed down from my husband’s grandparents. The frame is too hideous for words, however…just waiting for a bit of disposable income to head to the frame shop.

My favorite piece of artwork is a sketch that a student drew of us after we got engaged in one of the gardens at UVA. She was doing a project for a class and just happened to start sketching us blissfully sitting on a bench after getting engaged…When we realized she’d been sketching us, we asked if we could buy it from her. She mailed it to us after she turned it in for a final project and got it back from her teacher :) Needless to say, we love it

I have minimal eye for art… in fact the prints/pictures we have now are either of our wedding or ones my husband picked out. So I would love some inspiration! Above our bed is blank and I’m at a loss!
