Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

Lesli Devito Paintings Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

PAINT MY PET! I would have my cockapoo Lilly painted. She is the sweetest puppy in the world. I just love how she sprawls on her back in the middle of the couch to take her afternoon nap.

PAINT MY PET! My 10 year old boxer/lab mix, Sunshine, is the sweetest dog in the world. But…she has a little separation anxiety. I’ve gotten really good at replacing screens in windows because there has been, at some point in the three years we’ve lived in our home, a Sunny sized hole in every single one on the first floor. The 8+ foot drop from the windows to the ground below has been absolutely NO deterrent for my little Houdini dog!

I have an adorable hound mix we rescued a year ago. Lexi is my very first pet and I could not have asked for a more perfect one. Lexi is sweet, curious, & very playful. She is very fit and beautiful with redish brown short haired fur, a white stripe down her nose, black eyeliner look around her eyes and short floppy ears. She is a great addition to our family & her portrait would look gorgeous on the living room wall.

Our dog’s name is Tinka and she’s four. We just adopted her this year. When I get home from work she will jump on to my arms (while I’m standing) and make me pet her for a good 5 minutes because she missed me so much while I was at work.

Paint my pet! With love – she’s my son’s best bud, although for now she is stuck with me while he is away at college. They’ve been through tough times together, and we now call her the Old Lady (we have 5 other “pups”) but when she feels good, she can keep up with the youngest of them. And she just turned 12!

I would like my African Grey Timneh parrot to be painted. I just met her a couple weeks ago. She flew in from Georgia and was a wedding gift from my now husband. Her name is Zuzu and she is literally like a child to us. She babbles like a baby, eats like a baby, and is an attention hog! Zuzu likes to sleep in the shoulder of my hoodie while I’m in bed, is super friendly and flies to everybody, and is a goob. I love that bug eyed, bare-faced, feathery girl!!!!
