And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?
Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. - GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada

PAINT MY PET! We have a 7 year old Yorkie who ruled the roost until our 7 month old little boy was born in March. She loves to look out the window and “guard” her yard…drives me crazy!

PAINT MY PET!
I’d have my sister’s dog, Waylin, painted for her, and give it to her as a gift. My sister just moved from Chicago to join me in San Diego, so we took a road trip across the country, and Waylin was such a good boy! He’s a beagle/red coon dog mix. He slept the majority of the trip, but he definitely enjoyed checking out the Grand Canyon and all the other sights we saw =) I’d probably choose a photo from our road trip to remember what a great adventure it was.

Paint my pet! This would be for Sister Hazel, the basset hound—she’s probably the laziest dog ever, but totally adorable and affectionate.

Paint my Pet!!
I would love a portait of my furry baby Petey. He is the sweetest, meekest, cutest dog ever. Often times I wonder how I will love a human baby as much (or more) than I love him.
Sarah says
PAINT MY PET! While I’d love to have my kitties painted, I’d definitely choose to have my dad’s dog painted instead. He loves his dog perhaps more than his children and would be so excited about something like this.
Julia DeNatale says
PAINT MY PET!” We have always wanted one of these! We’d pet our wacky black and white pomeranian, Bandit. Bandit is an unusual Pomeranian, he’s roughly double the size of your average Pomeranian and is all white with a black “mask,” hence the name Bandit! He’s also silly because he thinks he’s a huge dog, though he ways in at 13 pounds (when he hasn’t been hitting the table scraps too hard.)
Since we have two small children, Bandit doesn’t get any wall space, and we’ve wanted to get one of these, but with my husband out of work, it hasn’t been in the budget.

PAINT MY PET! Lewis because she is a girl dog that looks like a boy so she has a boy name.

PAINT MY PET!
My family’s dog of 15 years passed away last month. My parents are still very much grieving the loss – my dad told me his passing was “like losing one of you kids.” This would make an amazing gift for my parents.

We love our dog Sherlock and would love too have a hand-painted portrait of him!

My cat is a true member of our family! She likes to be with her people at all times.

PAINT MY PET!!
Our rescue dog, Nava, is the sweetest 65lb bundle in the world. And a great guard dog! But the girl has issues. She is not scared when my husband mows the lawn or uses power tools around her, yet she is PETRIFIED of cardboard boxes and the stroller. Le sigh.
Kristen says
Paint my pet! We have three cats, two torties and a Maine coon, and I think a painting of our first fur baby would be an amazing gift to my husband. She’s ten now and starting to seem older but is still the same sweet girl she always was and I’m pretty sure my husband would mist up if I gave him a painting of her. *fingers crossed!*
Anne says
PAINT MY PET! We have a puggle (also 6 years old) named Miles who is pleasantly plump :) The vet advised us to cut his dog food portions back a little bit and supplement with green beans a few years ago…and he now will not eat dog food without the beans! He LOVES them!
Megan says
PAINT MY PET!
I’d have my dog Dexter painted, he’s a 2y/o boston terrier/cocker spaniel mix. He’s the best because he’s always happy.
Blake says
PAINT MY PET! My sweet maltese, Palmer, went to doggie heaven after 10 great years on Earth. I’d love to surprise my husband with a portrait since we never got around to it while he was with us. He was the sweetest, softest, most awesome maltese that ever lived. Pick me!
Isaac says
PAINT MY PET!! My wife and I have a 5 year old, 20lbs, Shih Tzu named Charlie. Chuck loves to snuggle with us in bed every morning.

I have a german short-haired pointer. She is such a sweetheart but she is impossible to walk because she points at everything and pulls HARD to get there!
Kayte says
Paint my pet!! I have three pets, but in this case I think I’d have to choose my naughty hound mix, Luna. She is super stubborn, but she is a slave to my husband. She is a clown and such a good sister to our kitties.
Chaney says
Paint my pet! I would have my dog, Jackson painted. We love his funny facial expressions. Everyone always comments about how happy he looks when we are on a run because when he pants it looks like’s smiling!

I’m getting a puppy this weekend, so I could have him painted. I also have two of the most adorable bunnies on the planet, so a painting of them would be wonderful.
My bunny, Otto, is so much fun to have around because he begs for treats by trying every trick he knows, including spinning in circles and licking my nose. He has me well trained because I can’t say no to a little bunny spinning around as fast as he can go!
Claudie says
Paint My Pet — It would be hard to pick between our two cats, so I’d probably have to flip a coin. :) They both have such unique and distinctive personalities that it really just makes them so endearing.
Melissa says
PAINT MY PET! Our pup, Ferris, is a basset hound, and is the sweetest, snuggliest pup in the world. We’re having our first baby girl soon, and I’d love to have a portrait of the little guy to add to her nursery!
Nichole says
PAINT MY PET! OMG I’ve been coveting your painting of Burger forever! I’d have our two chihuahuas painted of course. We rescued them from the pound about three years ago and I can’t image life without my two little fur-babies. They are great snugglers :)
Nichole says
*imagine sheesh!

PAINT MY PET! My beautiful mutt Lucy is clearly meant to have her own portrait, since she’s such an attention-seeking diva.

Paint my Pet! I would get a painting of my Abby that passed away a month ago. She was beautiful and I would love to have a painting of her to look at every day :)
Josie says
PAINT MY PET… my yellow lab, Lily. She is 3 years old but she is a runt so people still think she is a 6 month old puppy. Her tail never stops wagging (even when I am scolding her for chewing the fence… she doesn’t understand the word “no”) and she is a huge cuddler. She will literally curl herself around my head on the pillows and keep me warm all winter. I love her!
Shannon says
PAINT MY PET! My puppy, Rocky, is the best. I love everything about him, he is an old soul full of love. Every day is the best day ever for him. He holds no grudges and wears his heart on his sleeve.
Geeezo. I am getting a little teary eyed over here….

PAINT MY PET!
I would want my three dachshunds painted! Their names are Maggie, Miles, and MoMo (short for Motor Mouth). My dogs each have their own quirks – Maggie will “yell” at us if a) there isn’t a blanket on the couch for her or b) we aren’t touching her. Miles will “sing” with us – we keep telling him that he should try out for American Idol. MoMo has the BEST puppy dog eyes ever – it’s hard to stay mad at him when he slings the sad eyes at you!

Paint my pet!!
I would love to have a painting of my sweet lab mix, Willa. I adopted her when she was just a puppy and she’s been my canine soulmate ever since! She has been by my side through long runs, camping, swimming in the pool, and even took up the role of “nanny” when my daughter was born. I couldn’t ask for a better girl!

PAINT MY PET! I would love a painting of my five-year-old chocolate lab, Moka. She’s a sweetheart – loves everybody and is always looking for someone to throw her ball for her! She also loves the water – we just went camping with her over the weekend and she spent the entire time swimming in the lake, even thought the water was very cold (we’re in Canada).
GG says
PAINT MY PET! Grey Kitty, not only is she beautiful but she has been such a blessing after having lived such a rough life on the streets.

Paint my pet! I would like to have my fluffy Corgi Duke painted. He is a huge ham with a fantastic smile and the cutest little tail nub!

We recently adopted the sweetest little black lab, Sasha. Her favorite activity while we’re at work is to gather everything off the counters and leave it in our bed! Last night as I climbed in to bed, I discovered the dish scrubber under my pillow. Luckily she’s pretty stinking cute :)
Rachel says
Paint My Pet! Venus is a SPCA mutt but we think she is German Shepherd mixed with Whippet. FYI, if you google “Jessica Biel’s dogs” Venus looks almost identical to the large black & tan dog seen in many of the pics. I have a celebrity (dog) impersonator!

My cat Sammie – he’s almost 10 but still thinks he’s a kitten. Always chasing after strings and balls, such a cute guy!!
Leanne says
PAINT MY PET!
I would love to have my rescue kitten painted. She turned one recently, and I already have paintings of her brother and sister (both Yorkies), so she needs hers done! She is the sweetest cat, loves to cuddle, and chase her siblings around!
Leslie says
PAINT MY PET! I would have a hard time choosing between my two rescue pups! I’d probably have to buy another painting! My favorite thing about our dogs is that they are both rescues, so their love is so intense and they are just so grateful.

I would actually give it to my sister for Christmas for her new Pup Teddy. He’s a Chauweenie! I’ve painted my own Beagles portrait, but Lesli’s is very colorful and my sister’s name is Leslie!! :)

I would want my dog Gideon painted. His one and only trick is “singing” with people :)

Either one of our sweet dogs, both of whom greet me each day after work like I have been away for a decade.

Paint my pet! I’d want to get our orange tabby cat Savannah painted. She’s got quite the personality.

Paint my pet….Cutler the dog! *Note: my husband is a Broncos fan and we named him after Jay Cutler because he was supposed to be a franchise quarterback…oops! Everytime the Broncos get a new QB, our friends ask if we are going to rename him.
Cutler is the weirdest dog on the face of the planet. We got him for free but he has been anything but! In the span of his 4 1/2 year life, he has broken both back legs, had a blood clot, has been diagnosed with colitis, has indoor and outdoor allergies (one being pet dander…yup allergic to himself), bruised his spine, and I’m sure I’ve missed more. He plays rough. Despite all his “flaws” he is the best dog in the world and we love him and will continue to fix all his broken parts whenever we need to.
