And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?
Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. PAINT MY PET!
There’s only one four-legged man in my life! Farley Dog is a true Heinz 57 mutt from the pound that I adopted when I got my first “real” paycheck right out of college. No one can figure out what he is a mix of, so when people ask I just say “Oh, you know… he’s a Farley Dog. Very rare breed.”
Jamie says
PAINT MY PET! My boston/frenchie mix Squiggy has the cutest smushed face and bat ears, and the personality to match.
Trina says
Paint my pet! I don’t think I could pick between my cats, Kitty and Scrappy. I would just have to buy an extra!
Chelsea says
PAINT MY PET! I have a great dane, Ruger. He recently had to have one of his eyes removed.. the list of nicknames is beginning to add up… One Eyed Willie, Popeye, Captain, etc. Sure would make a cute painting!
Jayna says
PAINT MY PET! Our golden retriever, Dahlia!
Betsy says
PAINT MY PET!!!
So, our pets consist of hermit crabs….ahhh, the things we do for our kids!! The girls named them Shellby (because she is in a shell) and July (in a firework shell). Not gonna lie, the Hubs and I had the PERFECT names picked out: Leonardo de Pinchi and Clawed Monet but we lost out. Anyway, I’m pretty sure if Lesli Devito painted a portrait of our pets, we would snag the prize for Weirdest Portrait EVER.
So, I guess I would want a portrait of my Mom’s dog Bentley….a little guy who is a great companion for my mother and I’m pretty sure gets treated better than my brother and I ever did. :)
Amanda B. says
PAINT MY PET! Would love to get this for my dog Duke!
Whitney says
Paint my pet!!! I would want my dog Mowgli painted. He is such a great dog because even when you are feeling sad or upset his little face lights up your day!

PAINT MY PET!
We brought home our miniature dachshund “Baby” 12 years ago today! She’s made our family so happy the past 12 years and I’d love to have a painting of her in our home!
Brandi S. says
PAINT MY PET! I would have both my dogs painted. I have two chihuahuas that were our first babies. Skyler is our blue chihuahua who just turned 10 and Reesie is our black chihuahua who is out sweet nervous nellie and will be 9 this year. They are getting older and I would love to have something like this to immortalize them forever
Venn says
Paint my pet! My poodle mix, Chewbacca, is our family’s best friend who is the best vacuum cleaner EVER during my 2 year old daughter’s meal times.
Katie says
Paint my pet!
We have the cutest long haired dachshund mix, Sanders (aka Buddy) that we rescued several years back, he the sweetest dog ever!!
Jamie says
Paint my pet!
I actually had a custom painting done earlier this year of our dog Westen as a five-year wedding anniversary present for my husband. I would give this as a gift to my parents, who *love* their dog, Riley, like it’s a third child rather than a scruffy furball :)
Katie F. says
PAINT MY PET! I would get my family dog painted. He has an identity crisis as he has a girl name, but is a boy.
annette says
PAINT MY PET! I would want to paint all of my pets but I would first get my Abbey because she was my first princess and I lost her last summer and miss her tons!
Joy says
Paint my pet! Although I have two dogs and two cats, I would love to have my sweet Rooster Luna painted. He had wry neck syndrome as a chick and I nursed him back to health (even wore him in a sling to keep his neck straight just because I’m crazy like that) And although he doesn’t like to admit it–we have a special bond.
Sara G. says
PAINT MY PET! I would want our cat Luna painted because we think she is so quirky. She has a routine for everything we do. Taking a shower? She has to sit on the towel next to it. Blow drying my hair? She has to lie down right up against the chair I am sitting in. Brushing our teeth before bed? She has to stretch out on the carpet all the while making eye contact with us (which is borderline creepy). This is the only time she does any of these things and we have no idea why she does it but we love her!
Stacy Mc says
PAINT MY PET! My sweet rescue dog, Milo. He is so sweet and a cuddle-bug.
Kristy says
Paint my pet!
We have two German Shepherd rescue dogs who are amazing additions to our family. We’d definitely have to get a second portrait and have one of each!
Nikki says
PAINT MY PET! I would have a pciture of my parents dog Reggie painted. We lost Reggie last Christmas to cancer and it was really hard, especially on my Mom. This would be a wonderful way to honor our little Amish mutt.
hillary says
PAINT MY PET! I would have to get a painting of my parent’s yorkie (aka: my brother) and give it to my mom. We’ve had him for 13 years and it’s going to be tough when the little guy passes on. I know she’d love to have one of these amazing paintings to remember him by.
Sarah says
Paint my pet! Diego :)
Heather says
PAINT MY PET!
I would want my sweet Callie girl painted. She is a beautiful sable and white rough collie. She is very sweet and loves every person and/or animal she meets!
Meredith says
PAINT MY PET!
Booker is our sweet rescue dog who has us completely wrapped around his little paw. He’s a border collie/lab mix and has learned everything we’ve tried to teach him in mere minutes. He’s our smart, yet super sweet, little boy!
Brandy says
PAINT MY PET!
My dog chihuahua. He is the sweetest, laziest dog. And, oh so cute!
Liz O says
PAINT MY PET!!!
Meredith says
PAINT MY PET! I would love a painting of our dog Moose – junk yard dog turned most loveable pooch :)
Kaylie says
PAINT MY PET!
I can’t pick one of my two babies – we have a three-year old Westie named Malone and a two-year old Cairn Terrier named Wilson. Wilson is the biggest lover I have ever met, and Malone proves himself to be smarter than me at times! My husband and I named them after characters in The Untouchables in honor of my time living in Chicago and love for all things related to the Chicago mob. Malone is named after Jimmy Malone, the Chicago cop Sean Connery played in the movie. Wilson is named after Frank Wilson, the CPA who caught Capone on tax evasion! Since I’m a CPA I thought I would pay homage to the most famous CPA that nobody knows. :)
Elizabeth McKinney says
PAINT MY PET! A painting of my dog Shadow would be a perfect present for my husband. She is his baby, his “first daughter” as he calls her.
Jenn says
PAINT MY PET! My sweet baby Nigel is the most neurotic dog you’ve met. Case in point – he barks at 6:30 every night. Doesn’t matter where we are, he’s like clockwork. But he’s my love :)
Jessica P. says
PAINT MY PET!
It would definitely be my dog, Riley. He is a golden retriever mix and the light of my life (don’t tell my husband). Even though he leaves hair everywhere and thinks he’s human, he’s the most lovable, fun dog ever.
Ashley Draper says
Paint my Pet!!!
I would have my only dog, Mowgli painted. He is a black and white aussie-doodle. One of my favorite things about him is that he loves playing fetch, but with 3-4 toys at a time. He will try to fit as much in his mouth to bring you as he can and if he can’t figure out how to get the last toy in his mouth he starts whining. Kind of like a chewbacca whine. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play fetch with just one ball/toy.
RosanaR says
Paint My Pet! After 8 years, he still goes crazy over his squeaky toys. I would like to always remember the happiness he brings us.
nicole mason says
PAINT MY PET!
I would have my cane corso named Iko painted…he’s so lovable.
Emma says
Paint my Pet! (Please) I have a bonded pair of bunnies. They are the sweetest little things and frequently cuddle, rub noses, and groom each other.
Alise says
PAINT MY PET! We’d love to paint our 9-year-old basset hound, Chester. He provides endless entertainment to the kids when they start “baaa-roooohhhh”-ing together. And, he has a very unique knack of helping himself to your meal as soon as you turn your back. Chicken, cinnamon rolls, cheerios, apples … he doesn’t care as long as he gets his (and your) share.
Erin says
PAINT MY PET!
I’d get my cat, Finley, painted. He looks great in a bow tie!
Sam says
Paint My Pet ! I have a 60lb boxer named Ozzie who loves chasing bunnies and running with sticks.
Liz C. says
PAINT MY PET!
I would want my 2-year old mini-schnauzer, Logan, painted. The funniest thing he does is use his front paws like humans use their hands. If your arms are crossed and you’re sitting next to him, he will put both paws around your arm and pull backwards so you pet him.
Amber says
PAINT MY PET! We have a 3 year old beagle named Lucy. She is the sweetest thing in the world. She loves to snuggle on the sofa under the blanket. One weird thing about her is that she is terrified of trash bags!
Valerie says
PAINT MY PET!
I would want our dog, Charlotte, painted. She is a 6 lbs malti-poo and full of energy. Although Charlotte is a little ball of fluff – she likes to think she is as big as our Golden Retriever neighbor.
Nina says
PAINT MY PET!
I would want to paint our small labradoodle Cassie. Whereas my husband and I are both decidedly introverted, she is an absolute social butterfly. Her insistence at greeting everyone she meets like they were her long-lost best friend means we are now well known in our neighbourhood and feel so much more part of a community.
Andrea says
PAINT MY PET!!!! My son wants a dog for Christmas so if he gets one, we would have to have that one painted. Otherwise we have an iguana and a cat. The cat is pretty old so maybe we would paint her
Meg Kobe says
Paint My Pet!
We have a small black lab that is certain she is a sap dog or a cat…
sarah says
PAINT MY PET!
My cockapoo LuLu is a sleeping little thing- I’d love a painting of her curled up and napping
Eli S. says
PAINT MY PET!!
We have two Labs…I would hate to have to pick only one of them.
Victoria says
PAINT MY PET!
The painting would have to be of the best English Bull Terrier in all the world, my “snausage”, Mr. Jiggs. “The Jiggles” (as he is known to friends and fans) is a toddler in a dog suit. He is a cuddle bug, a playful scamp and the best furry hot water bottle a human can have. If you give him a kiss or an ear scratch while he is napping he will stretch out his legs and give a sigh. Perfect. Its hard to believe he started out life as a rescue. Obviously, his previous stupid humans didn’t even know what they had. Their loss, my gain!
Marsha says
PAINT MY PET!!! As much as I adore my current puppy dogs I think I would have to have it done of my first love…my black lab that has since crossed the rainbow bridge….Sir Triton :)
Danielle says
PAINT MY PET!!! I’d love a painting of our six-year-old cheek (chihuahua + pekingese) Zimmer. Everything about him makes him a joy to be around and he and Burger seem to have many traits in common.
