And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Paint my pet! I would love, love, love to win this. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 box turtle, but I would definitely have our first sweet doggie painted. She a rescue from the humane society when she was about 6 months old. Her first owner abused her, and it took her about 6 months to get used to being around any male friends of ours. At the end of October we will have had her for 14 years. She can only hear a shrill whistle now, but still loves to be with us, ride in the car to take the kids to school, etc. She’s our first baby since we got her before we had any children. :-)

PAINT MY PET! I think it would be the perfect gift to surprise my parents with a painted rendition of our one and only family dog, Murphy, our beloved (and greatly missed) soft-coated wheaten terrier.

PAINT MY PET~
My pup Kingsley! The thing that I love most about him (and drives me crazy!) is that he thinks he’s a crab. When we’re out for walks, he walks sideways. He’s just the most loveable pup I’ve ever known!

PAINT MY PET, please! Currently we have 3 dogs and 2 cats, plus the dearly departed former members of the crew (6 dogs, 7 cats) — so it’s a toss up between BorBor (Siberian husky — RIP), Jeep (Pug — RIP), and Remy (cat who is thankfully lighting up our lives today).

Paint My Pet!
I’d love to get a portrait of my french bulldog, Obi. Obi is a very special dog. We adopted him at 8 years old, and he’s 100% blind in both eyes. That doesn’t stop him, though! Although he sometimes bumps into things and sits directly facing a wall (he thinks he’s standing next to you), he is such a happy dog. He takes off running as soon as his paws hit pavement, even though he can’t see what’s in front of him. He also cuddles up right next to you, because he wants to make sure you don’t leave him alone. When he thinks he’s alone, he makes a frenchie howl.

Paint my pet! My husband and I have a rescue dog named Emma Pickles. She’s a total mutt (a chihuaha terrior mix… totally lacking fancy schmancy pedigree). She’s loving, loyal, and has a quirky personality that entertains everyone she meets. Emma would look great on canvas! ;)

Paint my Pet! I would choose Dudley or Truman, my very yummy Lab/ St. Bernard mix babies.
Veronica says
PAINT MY PET! Oliver, the smartest Pembroke Welsh Corgi that ever lived (ok, maybe I’m biased), would be the pooch I’d choose to have painted. He’s no longer with us, but came into our family during a very difficult time with his wit, hi-jinks, and unconditional love and he made everything OK for all of us. He was a source of constant companionship for our newly divorced mom, a best buddy for teenage me, and a lesson in responsibility for my baby sister. He listened, licked tears, played silly games, and never let any of us get lonely. We’ve all moved on from those hard times and welcomed other four-legged friends into our hearts since Oliver passed last year, but what he meant to all three of us can’t be replaced and will never be forgotten and it would be amazing to have a portrait of him for Mom to hang with all of our family’s other favorite memories.
Melissa says
PAINT MY PET! Our 5 year old dilute calico PJ is so gentle and sweet. She’s only hissed at our 8 year old when he accidently sat on her tail. We got her at the shelter when she was 3.
