And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

My 10 year old pound puppy is my snuggle buddy and he is a smart dog. We have to spell words like walk, ham , and bath. And he’s learned how to spell!

Our sweet little pup, Murray, will always be our first baby. We loved him to bits before but seeing how protective and affectionate he is with our new son is even more endearing.

PAINT MY PET! My husband and I adopted our cat Cooper a few short months ago. We’re in love with him! He has the most adorable large round eyes. His weirdest quirk might be TMI, but he is never as excited as when he knows someone will be using a toilet. He literally comes bounding in from anywhere in the house when he hears the toilet seat “clink” open. Flushing must be the most awesome thing to him. We love him and his weird.

    Paint my pet!

I’d love to have a painted portrait of my cat, who lives with my parents since my hubby is allergic to cats. Ollie was a bottle-fed kitten and he’s very quirky. He acts feral when he escapes (he’s an indoor cat), he eats hair (while it’s still attached to people’s heads), and he loves deep tissue massages.

Love love love these! Please paint my mom’s pet! She got a Jack Russell a terrier when my younger brother left the house for college. Since then, Rocky has become her favorite thing in the world – calling him our little brother. Despite the fact that he’s not that cute, and not that affectionate or obedient, the whole family has fallen head over heels. What a great gift for my mom!

PAINT MY PET! I would have our dog Raven painted. She is 8, and still acts like a puppy. My husband and I don’t have children yet, so she gets 100% of our attention! We go on family walks most days, even though we have a large yard, and she loves it. She sits on the couch with me any time I sit, and sleeps at my feet every night. She is truly our best friend, and I would truly love to have a painting of her. Also, she’s obsessed with our next door neighbors! She goes to the fence every time we go outside and just watches through the fence like a creeper!

PAINT MY PET! Pretty please! I’d love to have my mom’s beloved dog, Kirby, painted. Kirby is a dog she rescued a few years ago and truly loves him like a child of her own. My mom’s 50th birthday is coming up soon and it would mean so much to give her something like this for a birthday gift. My mom is the most selfless, caring, thoughtful, and loving person I’ve ever met. Her dog brings her so much joy and a painting like this would do the same. We’ve been through a lot together, including my own cancer battle, and I’d love to give this to her to show her how much I love and appreciate her!

PAINT MY PET! Rex is the center of attention in our household. We have a king size bed and he is quite sure it is just for him. We fall asleep to his “old man yawns” (they really do sound human) and wake up to his big old snout pressed up against our faces to begin the morning rituals. We don’t know what we would do without our big “puppy.”

    PAINT MY PET!

I love this artist’s style. I’d definitely have my dog painted by Lesli – her style seems pretty in-line with his silly, sweet personality. We only adopted him this summer, but we’re pretty smitten with his quirks. My favorite is when we go near the front door as if to go on a walk how he jumps at his leash and harness. When we go to put the harness on the ground (it’s a step-in harness), he tries to jump in it. He hasn’t got it figured out yet, so it gives us a pretty good laugh (it almost always adds a step or two to putting the harness on!). He also thinks that the cats will play with him if he just tries “one more time.” They don’t scratch him up, but they do give him a firm “not a chance.”

And to show how weird we are: we have plans to have our cats commissioned for our next holiday (better than random gifts). One will be a James Bond silhouette style because she’s a total tuxedo cat mixed with a Bond girl. The other will be in Rococo style sitting on the outline of a French chair (very pop-art), because he’s so pretty he must have popped out of a Rococo painting.

PAINT MY PET! I would have our sweet Zoey painted. She’s a 3 year old shiba inu that my husband and I rescued this year. She’s come a long way from being scared and unsure of her new environment to playful and loving. She fits in perfectly with our family and I can’t imagine life without her. Zoey loves cheese and sunbathing on the deck.

Paint My Pet!! We have a fabulous dog Sera and a wonderful cat, Lilly, both adopted from our local humane society. While I love my pets, if I won, I would have a portrait made of my in laws’ English bulldog, Rugby, who recently passed away at the age of 11. He was everything a bulldog should be….sweet, lovable, very strong, and very loud (snorting). My in laws would love to have a picture of this regal guy to help preserve his memory.

PAINT MY PET! I would want a painting of our golden doodle, Riley. We adopted her via some friends (who had her for two weeks and decided they weren’t dog people) who got her from the Humane Society-we’ve had her 10 months. She was super skittish when we got her and would whine if we were in the same room as her. Now, she is a big cuddle dog and can’t get enough attention, regularly positioning herself between me and whatever needs doing, be that painting trim, yard work, reading, housework, etc. Good thing she is so cute!

Anything else she lays on the couch like a dog. She also looks like she’s drowning when she swims but she’s not haha that’s just what she looks like. And she has this grumpy sigh that makes me think she can understand us. I could go on and on hahaha
