And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?
Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…

- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada

PAINT MY PET!
Well, not mine. My parents pups – Fraiser and Pokey. Since my sis and I left the house for college, they’ve become empty nesters…but not really since they treat their dogs like their kids… This would be a great gift to them!

Paint my pet!! Our dog, Peyton is an adorable beagle/rat terrier who turned 6 last June. He’s a bit crazy (still definitely in a puppy stage that we thought he would outgrow YEARS ago) but so loving. He gets along wonderfully with our 1.5 year old, when he’s not trying to lick her face that is!
Ashley says
Paint my pet! My 7 month old, American Bulldog mix Brady. His facial expressions are full of personality, and he is a bundle of love and energy. He makes every morning a little brighter for me. Love my sweet boy.
Betsy says
PAINT MY PET! Our black lab, Kodak, likes to dig up clams in the bay.
Kim Early says

Alexandra says
PAINT MY PET! I have some portraits that I did in a similar style of a cow and a giraffe… Love the style
Barb says
PAINT MY PET! I would have my oldest cat painted. I’ve had her since I was in elementary school. Her health has been steadly declining yet she is still a really really happy cat who loves to be around me and my husband (him especially).
Corinne says
PLEASE PAINT MY PET!!! We have a 2 1/2 year old golden (Miley) and we call her our quasi-gaurd dog. “quasi” because when someone comes up to the door and knocks or rings the doorbell she goes NUTS but as soon as we get up to answer the door she’s hiding in between our legs.
And she also thinks the squirrel that drinks from her water bowl outside threatens her.

PAINT MY PET!
My Doggie Napoleon is a tiny pekeingese who thinks he’s the size of a Saint Bernard!
Sarah says
Paint my pet! We’re crazy about our Doberman/Standard Poodle mix even though he’s a little crazy. We slowly nursed him back to health when he was a pup, despite the fact that he was oh so mean – I’m convinced it was the meds talking. He’s paying us back with sweetness and a side of crazy now and we’re so thankful we stuck with him!
Sarah says
Paint My Pet! I would like my adorable little beagle/terrier/general mutt pup Lulu painted. She’s our special little girl.
katie says
PAINT MY PET! I have a Welsh Terrier named Brody. He’s the puppy that won’t grow up. The vet says terriers are young and energetic a little longer than most dogs, but seriously buddy, you’re 7. Relax a little. He is pretty adorable and ridiculously smart, and often gives me looks like a teenager gives his parents.
Stacey says
PAINT MY PET!! My sister -in- law’s black lab!
ASch says
PAINT MY PET! I dont have a pet right now but I grew up with an amazing rottweiler! my mom would be so happy if I gave her a portrait of him!

PAINT MY PET!
I would have my sweet Wilson painted! She’s a poodle/maltese mix and our first baby (and yes, she’s a girl named Wilson). Wilson is a bit of a diva and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.
Jess says
PAINT MY PET!I’d love a picture of my 8 yo Rottie – he’s the center of our whole family!
Jess says
Paint my pet! I would have my cat, Max, painted. He’s very social, to the point where a friend of mine said that he’s the most “dog-like cat” she’d ever met. He follows me around my apartment, always wants to know what’s going on, and basically wants to be friends with everyone. Especially if he thinks they’ll give him food!

Paint my pet!
I have a house full of pets… two dogs, two cats and two tanks of fish! A week ago my family sadly lost our sweet dog Willy (Schnauzer mix). We are still so heartbroken without him and would love a painting of our happy and loveable little guy. Among his many adorable traits was his demanding nature when it came to getting attention. He’d shove his head right under your hand when he wanted you to pet him!
Laura says
PAINT MY (SISTERS) PET!! I’m not a big dog lover but Miller has been a loyal member of their family for 3 years now.
Caroline says
PAINT MY PET! I’d love to have my childhood pet, a cocker spaniel, painted. She was the sweetest dog!

Thomas says
Paint my pet! I had a border collie growing up he was such a smart dog! and so protective over the whole family.
Kelley says
PAINT MY PET! (please!) It’s a tough call. We have a dog, and we have a cat. The cat hates the dog and won’t come downstairs. The dog thinks the cat is a toy and whines every time she sees the cat in a “why won’t she come down here to play with me?!” sort of way. Maybe I can have her paint BOTH pets in a photo? Hummmm….
Caroline Howse says
PAINT MY PET!!! Our dog is very unusual/weird due to his storm terror!! Huxtable is a 100lb black lab that is terrified of thunder, lightning, rain, and even the slightest breeze. We get the pleasure of staying up with him on stormy nights which is hilarious since our 11 month old is the one sleeping soundly. We love him enough to do all this and would love to look at a bright and fun photo of him while we make sure he doesn’t eat through the couch on a stormy night. He already ate a truck seat!!!
Caitlin H says
Paint my pet! I’d have my dogs, Lola & Betty, and my cat Easter painted.
Alissa says
PAINT MY PET! I’d love a painting of my dog Molly!
Cori says
PAINT MY PET! My dog Bowie is a cute little American Eskimo Dog, with a personality that pretty much only his mother can love. He hates most everybody he meets, but is fiercely loyal and protective of me. I rescued him about three years ago, and he’s been an important part of my life ever since :)
susanne says
Paint My Pet! We adopted Maggie, our chocolate lab, this time last year. She is smart, and sweet, and completely lovable…..so cute…..We love her….
Hannah says
PAINT MY PET!! Mine would have to be a double portrait of my 5 year old Cockapoo Sulley, and his 9 month old little sister Sydney! Sulley likes to lick belly buttons (he will nose under your shirt to get to it!!), and Sydney likes to perch on the back of the sofa, half on your shoulder, like a parrot! i have two silly kids, i tell ya!!
Lois says

Stacey Cucuzza says
PAINT MY PET! we would love to have our new puppy Kody painted. He’s only 4 months old and is CRAZY and a licker but we adore him. He insists on licking the kids every chance he gets and is never more than a few inches away from us at all times. Would be great to have a painting of him at this stage to remember forever.
Sarah says
Paint my pet! I would love to have my Plott Hound painted. She cracks me up! She stretches out on the floor like superman with her back legs straight out behind her :)
Allison D says
PAINT MY PET! We have been waiting to get the right picture of Bentley painted!!!!!!
Kelley Myers says
PAINT MY PET! My husband and I have a 22 month old Vizsla named “Spencer.” Truly, he lives up to the saying “Velcro-V” and is physically always attached at the hip to either my husband or I. What a sweet 60lb cuddler he is! When he is not busy cuddling, Spencer loves to run with us…although for now we’re sticking with short distances in case his growth plates are still open. We love him & feel that he is like our first born. Spencer says he would be so tickled to see his likeness proudly displayed in our condo!
Kathy says
PAINT MY PET!
Ha ha… there is nothing incredibly “lovable” about my temperamental cat Ruthie. We love her non-the-less… she only likes my husband and I which I guess makes her attention that much more cherished.
Susan says
“PAINT MY PET!” I have two labs, Utah and Normand. They are the most loving, sensitive boys who know exactly what I’m feeling all the time.
Becky says
PAINT MY PET! I would have a lot of trouble choosing. The furry love of my life passed away almost 18 months ago, so I don’t know if I would choose him or one of my current dogs (who I also love dearly).
Kristen says
PAINT MY PET! I would actually want a painting of my sister’s Golden Retriever, Maggie. She passed away in February, a few weeks after my sister gave birth to her first child and I think it would mean so much to her to have a painting of the sweetest, most gentle and loving dog in the world :)
Jess says
Paint my pet!
If I couldnt get them all in the picture, I guess I would have to say my Goat Bill. I got him only 4 days old and so sick..he almost died 3 times…and had to be bottle fed for 8 weeks. I even took him to work with me! 4 years later, He is now about 300lbs and still tries to sit on my lap :)

Paint my Pet Ella. She is 9 years old (yellow lab retriver) and I might be biased, but the greatest dog ever. I love when she cocks her head to the side and looks at whoever she is talking to like they are crazy. Cutest thing ever.
