Since we know you guys love personalized stationery as much as we do (and we always like to support other husband and wife teams), we’re psyched to bring you this week’s giveaway from Wild Ink Press. This duo – plus their 2 year old son/sidekick- churns out beautiful letterpress stationery by hand (and foot). And they print all of their stuff on 100% recycled paper or cotton and reuse everything from scraps to clean-up rags, always keeping their process as eco-friendly as possible. But of course, it’s their stunning designs that are the real stars of their process.
And this week, TWO of you are going to win a custom set of letterpress stationery (up to a $150 value each!). Here are the five designs our winners will have the pleasure of choosing from, either for themselves (or maybe even as a Valentine’s Day gift?). First we have The Signature, which puts your name in a silver metallic script with a custom icon to add some whimsy. And you can pick from green, pink, khaki or gray envelopes to match. Man, I wish my signature came out this fancy looking every time I sign on the dotted line.
The Dictionary is a classic design with dark brown or black ink on ivory paper. And speaking of the ivories, the khaki envelope comes lined with vintage sheet music or an actual dictionary page (smoking jacket and pipe not included).
The Bandana Paisley is kinda dusty old west meets colorful sophistication. Pick from a magenta, turquoise, purple or red paisley to coordinate with a gray, khaki or purple envelope. A far cry from the days of the Pony Express.
The Nautical had us at “ahoy.” It comes on beachy pale blue paper with a ship ghosted in the background and a handsome navy envelope.
The Audrey is a combo of a sophisticated dotted pinstripe and your name printed in a playful circus font. The orange or magenta color options for both the type and envelope finish off the big top design.
Have you already picked out the one you love? Well here’s how you can vie for your chance to win (bonus: stay tuned for a discount on Thursday- everyone sort of wins in the end):
- PRIZE: A 30-piece set of custom letterpress stationery from Wild Ink Press (selected from the five designs shown here).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PRESS ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your writing style. Do you write exclusively in cursive? Do you rock all caps all of the time? Do you dot your I’s with something special? Is your penmanship virtually unreadable? Or do you just avoid hand-writing at all costs?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 3rd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: You name it. They’ll ship it anywhere!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Is it weird that my handwriting changes depending on what pen I use?

I wish I could say I had one of those distinguished font types of handwriting, but generally it seems to be a mix of print and cursive. If writing quickly my printed letters definitely connect together with a hint of cursive.

my writing style is very much influenced by my emotions, energy level, and stress level, so i’m not quite sure how i should describe it other than potpourri!
Becky says
Press Me! LOVE ‘The Signature’ – gorgeous!
My handwriting is a weird hybrid of lower and upper case print with cursive-like connections between some letters. I have no idea how it developed overtime, but it’s full of personality and, I’m happy to say, at least legible!

I have the WORST handwriting in the world :( I try to write as fast as I think and it ends up missing words or has tons of mistakes in it!!!!
This stationary is lovely.
Shelley Herek says
PRESS ME! Love those note cards! I love the handwritten note, typically you can read my writing, which depending on my mood is all caps (when I’m being patient) and cursive (when I am not so patient).
Alison Kelly says

My writing is a cursive-printing combo. Most days only I can read it it, but hey, that’s what’s important!
I also use my own short form words. That and when I’m taking notes, I have my own formula of how I take notes which would make anyone else’s head spin off.

“PRESS ME”
My writing style is more of a blend of messy cursive and fancy manuscript than 1 specific style. It’s refined and polished, yet, completely relaxed and messy. I’m not a huge proponent of using caps. I like to use Italics when I am speaking emphatically. It stands out just as well, and is, in my opinion, more aesthetically pleasing. While I think a typed letter is cleaner, and more professional, in a personal setting, I prefer a hand-written note. Not only is it more personal – you can really personalize note cards/stationary these days, which makes it, well, more fun!!!

My handwriting is a mixture of cursive and print and it tends to get messy the longer I write. I used to have a ton of pen pals when I was a teenager and they received elaborate handwritten letters, but nowadays I hardly ever send letters any more. Sounds like a habit I should pick up again!

I have a lovely, bubbly sort of handwriting that has to be super legible for writing on the board in my classroom. Yes-I thought of that when I decided to become a teacher and worked on that more than anything in teacher’s college.
Zoe says
Press me! I’d love the Nautical, because I live on a houseboat…
If I do say so myself, I love my handwriting – I learned chinese as a kid and all those hours of copying out the characters seems to have given my English handwriting an almost calligraphic style. People often comment on it :-) Now if only I wrote as fast as I type…

The Audrey is my fave! Oh and my penmanship…. half script, half print, and roughly half legible.
Lindsey says
Press me please. My handwriting is Kindergarten teacher chic with appropriate letter formation and spacing! It’s a curse to teach letters and writing and not be able to scribble myself. My sister even had me write in my niece’s baby book because her writing is so poor.

my handwriting is all over the place. Sometimes i will throw in a fancy “g” or “j” or use a form of cursive… and other times it is all plain print. sometimes it slants other times it is straight up and down… small or big. i always wonder how a handwriting analysis person would be able to identify my writing (not that they will ever need to!).

Im a HUGE fan of Paisley prints. I can already see my name on that beautiful purple paper! I wish I had some talent in my handwriting. I find myself writing in cursive and print together- not too unique. I always sign my name with a heart first to show my love!
Kimberly C. says
PRESS ME! I write in cursive most of the time, but when I have to print, it is all caps. Oh, except for when I print for my Kindergarten students; then it is perfect letter formation for upper & lower case based on the writing program we are using. Funny how easy I switch from one style of writing to another depending on the task at hand.

My handwriting is a hybrid of cursive and printing. I could never get the hang of a cursive “r” no matter how many practice sheets my third grade teacher doled out.
Ashley says
PRESS ME, please. I’m mostly cursive and I love notecards!

My writing style is boo-ring: regular uppercase and lowercase letters with nothing distinct about it to speak of. Boo.
But, I do pick someone important in my work/life each week and send them a handwritten thank-you note. Nothing is more meaningful!
Joanna says
Press me! I have a combination print and cursive where the letters look mostly like print but are connected.

PRESS ME!! Love this gorgeous work!
My handwriting is for sure a modge podge of cursive and print. I guess the weirdest part of my handwriting is that I make my lowercase “a’s” as they appear when you type them. I had a teacher in high school who did and it must have stuck!
Thank you for your continued wonderful posts!!

I flip back and forth between my cursive and print depending on the person I’m writing.
Thanks for the give-away opportunity!
Anne says
Press me! My writing is barely legible, but I love sending hand written notes nonetheless.
Sarah says
PRESS ME! I make my lowercase g in the “double-story” type (like how it is for Times New Roman font) and I make my z so it looks kind of like a cursive z or 3, but it throws people off, so I’m trying to change that habit!
Denise L says
Press Me….My handwriting style is usually all print not very good at cursive, plus I teach kindergarten so I have to teach the kiddos how to write!

My handwriting is a mix of upper and lower case print with cursive like connections mixed between the non-cursive letters. It is legible!

My handwriting has no style and is largely illegible … I can’t even read my own handwitten notes. God bless the advent of the laptop … I use it to avoid writing wherever possible.

I do a combination of cursive and print, honestly. I used to write exclusively in cursive, but then I became a school teacher and print became my norm all day long…so I kind of merged the two.

My handwriting is a combo of printing and cursive – pretty unatractive, I have to say.
Flá says

I mix cursive and print. It depends on the letter.
Nicole says
PRESS ME! I’m a combo of printing and cursive. Depends on my mood.
Franci says
Press Me!! I write in cursive. I think a handwritten note is becoming a lost art. There is such joy in receiving a handwritten note in the mail, much more special than an email.
Ruthie says
Oh, PRESS ME! I love this. It might even inspire me to write words in my readable but inconsistent handwriting – even though I’d feel like I was defiling the beauty of the stationery. I love the dictionary idea. I have a dictionary that I despise (it never has the words I’m looking for) – I just might have to turn it into envelopes – or greeting cards.
AEOT says

That is incredibly gorgeous stationary- I’m quite impressed with the whole line. I would have to say the most distinctive thing about my handwriting is that it is incredibly easy to read. I work in the medical field, and so many people have such terrible handwriting that trying to read their consults and notes is SUCH an effort. My mother was a kindergarten teacher and, to her, handwriting is essential, so mine is pretty near perfect due to her constant harping. I’m glad for it though!!

I also use a mixture of print and cursive, but mostly printing…I used to do cursive all the time, but in my classroom I print.
There’s nothing like a handwritten note, whatever style you use!

My handwriting is really neat, but I kind of do my own version of print/cursive. Everything runs together but somehow it looks legible.

My handwriting is old school Palmer method!! And I love to handwrite rather than email.

I’m a lefty and abhor cursive. Most people think my handwriting is unreadable, a few nice ones tell me it’s different and artsy… but I love handwritten letters all the same.

I love the Audrey set….near and dear to my heart…my 16month old daughter is named Audrey!!! I’m a combo writer…cursive and print!
Melinda says

I write handwritten letters often in this email saturated world. My grandparents met, fell in love, and decided to marry, all in handwritten letters while he was fighting in Korea. I wooed my own military man through the written word across the miles and under the sea. My print is like a boy’s handwriting and my cursive is only readable if I write slowly (at a painfully slow rate).

I usually write in cursive and my writing style is very ~ very ~ similar to my mother’s. coincidence? I think not. I started writing like my Mom on purpose so that I could excuse myself from classes in high school!
Leanne says
PRESS ME! my penmanship depends on the day, my mood, and the urgency with which I’m writing. But generally I write in cursive…and constantly wish it were prettier!
