Since we know you guys love personalized stationery as much as we do (and we always like to support other husband and wife teams), we’re psyched to bring you this week’s giveaway from Wild Ink Press. This duo – plus their 2 year old son/sidekick- churns out beautiful letterpress stationery by hand (and foot). And they print all of their stuff on 100% recycled paper or cotton and reuse everything from scraps to clean-up rags, always keeping their process as eco-friendly as possible. But of course, it’s their stunning designs that are the real stars of their process.
And this week, TWO of you are going to win a custom set of letterpress stationery (up to a $150 value each!). Here are the five designs our winners will have the pleasure of choosing from, either for themselves (or maybe even as a Valentine’s Day gift?). First we have The Signature, which puts your name in a silver metallic script with a custom icon to add some whimsy. And you can pick from green, pink, khaki or gray envelopes to match. Man, I wish my signature came out this fancy looking every time I sign on the dotted line.
The Dictionary is a classic design with dark brown or black ink on ivory paper. And speaking of the ivories, the khaki envelope comes lined with vintage sheet music or an actual dictionary page (smoking jacket and pipe not included).
The Bandana Paisley is kinda dusty old west meets colorful sophistication. Pick from a magenta, turquoise, purple or red paisley to coordinate with a gray, khaki or purple envelope. A far cry from the days of the Pony Express.
The Nautical had us at “ahoy.” It comes on beachy pale blue paper with a ship ghosted in the background and a handsome navy envelope.
The Audrey is a combo of a sophisticated dotted pinstripe and your name printed in a playful circus font. The orange or magenta color options for both the type and envelope finish off the big top design.
Have you already picked out the one you love? Well here’s how you can vie for your chance to win (bonus: stay tuned for a discount on Thursday- everyone sort of wins in the end):
- PRIZE: A 30-piece set of custom letterpress stationery from Wild Ink Press (selected from the five designs shown here).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PRESS ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your writing style. Do you write exclusively in cursive? Do you rock all caps all of the time? Do you dot your I’s with something special? Is your penmanship virtually unreadable? Or do you just avoid hand-writing at all costs?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 3rd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: You name it. They’ll ship it anywhere!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I hand wrote the outer envelope of our wedding invites. Everyone was surprised – but I knew this is what I’d been practicing my cursive writing for all those years.

I taught myself how to do a bit of calligraphy when I was a kid, and since then have developed my own calligraphy font which I also use as my regular hand-writing. I tend to use cursive when writing someone a short note or making a grocery list, and the ink pen comes out for some fancy card-writing time.

While I send e-cards and emails, they do not take the place of a card or letter delivered thru the US mail. Every letter I send or receive becomes a piece of the writer that the reciever gets to hold and touch which is missing in emails. My letters are chatty and intimate at the same time, full of encouragement and support when needed, designed to give a break from the hectic world for the reader.

My handwriting is a weird mix of cursive, block print, and scribbles. Nothing I ever sign has the same signature on it, as it really depends on my mood and energy level. So you might get a perfectly enunciated version of my name or something that looks like a worm threw up.
I have been told many times that my handwriting alone should have gotten me into med school because I would fit in so well (I’m a photographer, btw).

Love that dictionary set! I’m a cursive girl.

I write in print. The only time I ever use cursive is to sign my name : )

If writing for myself, my handwriting is a mix of cursive and print and most are lowercase but occasionally have an uppercase R in there. Now, at work, I teach 1st grade so if it is for the kids it is all perfect printing so I don’t have 22 kids asking me “what does that say?”
Dan says
PRESS ME! My handwriting is a combination of cursive and printing. You couldn’t tell the difference since all the letters connect and much more legible than if I exclusively wrote cursive. Nowadays I bet the majority of kids’ handwriting is atrocious due to the computer. We had penmanship classes in the 80s, I don’t think they have those these days.

PRESS ME! I use a combination of print and cursive. Everyone tells me how much they love my handwriting, but I don’t think it’s anything special.

If it’s a letter or note from me, I use a combo of cursive/print. However, if it’s a note I’m writing on behalf of my 2 year old son (such as a thank you note to his Mimi) I use all caps.

I am a teacher and my handwriting has become big and clear letters that don’t slant. Very “teacher” looking but I can’t snap out of it.

PRESS ME! I love these…they are all beautiful! I love to write and send cards, so these would definately come in handy :)

Print. I hate my cursive. And the evil teacher that I am, that’s all I allow my students to write in so they won’t turn out like me!

I write mostly in cursive, but print certain letters, like the letter t.

My handwriting is a cross between printing and cursive. My letters are VERY loopy and big, and usually pretty scurnched together. But I am also a teacher so my printing is pretty spectacular (I must admit).

When I do write, I use cursive!
thanks!

I have horrible handwriting. The left-handed boys in 4th grade used to make fun of it. Even I have trouble reading it. But I still like to hand write notes, when I can. It’s much more personal.

I have a not so pretty print/cursive combo. I’m sure it would look a whole lot better on this lovely stationery!

My writing is actually like my mother’s handwriting and my father’s handwriting had a little half-cursive half-manuscript slightly bubbly baby! lol. I love to write but every now and then my hand just goes stupid and I have HORRIBLE writing… but for the most part, I love to write, as long as I have high quality paper and a good pen.

I wish I could write cursive!! It comes out looking very third grade, so I’m a print girl. But I make it very cute and loving nonetheless! Now if I could only learn to sign my new name to be– getting married May 1st and still don’t have it down!

I love writing in script, and I am actually learning calligraphy right now. This stationery set would be a great gift to win, and I’m sure my relatives and friends would love to receive some hand-written letters from me :)
Elizabeth says
PRESS ME!! And I print because my handwriting is atrocious, completely illegible.
Amanda says

My handwriting was always a print/cursive mix until I spent 3 years teaching 1st grade. After this point, it has begun to lean more towards the print side. I’d much rather write by hand than type!
Sara Smith says
PRESS ME! Love that script one! I also do crazy combinations of cursive and printed letters…drives my students nuts, lol! Nice to see there are others out there like me!

Snail mail is my favorite and always will be! It means so much more to me. My Grandfather is the one who taught me this. He used to write to me once a week. I always enjoyed running to the mailbox to see what he had to say, or read the funny jokes he’d sent me.
GREAT FREEBIE! :)

PRESS ME! When I write with pen it’s a mix of cursive and print. When I write with pencil it’s all print. Weird…I know!

I try to not write – it’s a bad combination of printing and cursive.

My handwriting is hideous. Having said that I am very particular about my pen. It can’t be gel, it can’t be ink, it must be ball point. It also must be fine (0.7 and under). And then there’s the paper – I like it to have grab, some papers are very slippery and make my illegible writing even worse.
When all the planets align and the correct writing instruments are in place then my writing can be very neat.
But most of the time, hideous.
Marelis Q. says
PRESS ME!!! These are absolutely adorable :) I write in ALL different styles depending on how much time I have and what I’m writing. If I’m filling out important paperwork I normally write very clear letters. I do tend to do a combination of print and cursive writing.

press me! I try hard to write notes of encouragement to people, but I have the worst hand writing of all time. I’ve been a nurse for 30 years and I’m used to quickly scribbling notes on a chart. I try to write nicely, but it usually is an exercise in futility
Andrea says

My writing tends to be neat … need to pick up the calligraphy skills again! Of course, I also do the backwards, awkward all caps when writing “in the hand of” our toddler son or greyhound pup.
Mrs.M says
press me! I start out writing in cursive and very neat, but as the note goes on I tend to get a bit messy!

Mixture of both cursive and print, even in the same sentence!

PRESS ME some of THE SIGNATURE note cards because they are really awesome!I love all the flourishes. My handwriting could use a refresher course unfortunately. It’s very tempermental … some days it looks neat and pretty … and other days … well, I just don’t know what happens!! My pen generally dictacts how my writing turns out, and I’m pretty picky when chosing my writing instruments! :-)
Deanna says
PRESS ME – I am part cursive, part print. I actually worked on my handwriting quite a bit in college to get it the way I wanted it to look. Now I just let it flow but i do like to write. I am afraid it is becoming a lost art…

I love writing in cursive! But I have to admit using all CAPS when I am drawing floor plans, labeling, to do lists, etc.
Fingers Crossed!

Press me…I always write it cursive. After being told in elementary school that I had terrible handwriting, I practiced up and now have super neat writing.

Press Me! I hate my cursive. I like to do hand block lettering. I spent hours making this look good in college. I think this is why I like that font so much. But I must say I think my cursive or hand block lettering would look good on that wonderful stationary.
