I’m gonna bust out some flashback lingo from YHL circa 2008: prepare to swoon. This week’s giveaway is from our lovely sponsor Jessica Rose at Vol. 25, home to some of the most charming art around. I mean, how can you not fall for these robotic lovebirds?
The great thing is that Jessica’s artwork comes in the form of prints, t-shirts, rubber stamps, mouse pads, books and even photoshop overlays (so you can add a little hand-drawn flare to a photo). And since we couldn’t even begin to pick just a few favorite items for the giveaway, Jessica’s hooking up TWO of you with $50 gift cards towards anything in her shop (plus there’s a discount awaiting everyone on Thursday so stay tuned for that). Now you that know what’s up for grabs – how ’bout some more eye candy?
And here are all the contest deets:
- PRIZE: A $50 gift certificate towards anything from Vol. 25’s shops on Etsy or Zazzle.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with either the words “PUMP IT UP” or “TURN IT DOWN” depending on…
- BONUS QUESTION: … whether you love a loud and lively lifestyle or you prefer to keep things quiet and peaceful. Do you feel better surrounded by lots of activity, energizing music, or boisterous laughter? Or would you rather find yourself in an intimate conversation, enjoying soothing nature sounds, or quietly reading a book?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 21th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: TWO
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world! Woo to the hoo.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Turn it down! Two small kids equals lots of noise and sometimes I feel like I need to break out ear plugs just to be able to think inside of my head!
Amelia says
PUMP IT UP! Although my life is constantly on the go, I’m normally up for it – enjoying that “Pump it up!” life.

TURN IT DOWN…i’m turn into such a cranky old lady (impressive since i’m only 23) when i’m in excessively loud situations, haha.
i visited this etsy shop awhile ago after seeing the robot/manatee print on your site. the print was so random and perfect for me! my boyfriend gave me a stuffed manatee on our first valentines day and our first halloween together he made a ridiculously involved robot costume. her entire store is amazing, but that print makes me smile every time i see it!
Elizabeth says
Turn it down! I teach third grade so this time of year I’m ready to mellow out and wind things down.

Pump it up & turn it down. I like a balance of the two. I would mostly say my life is turned down, but once in a while it’s nice to pump things up :)

I like to quietly read a book, watch a movie while snuggled in a blanket, and in general have quiet, contemplative time.
Julie says
PUMP IT UP! I love lots of activity around me all the time!
Beth says
TURN IT DOWN!
Quiet and peaceful environments are a must for me. Obviously, dealing with crowds and bustling activity is necessary, but too much gets me flustered. Definately need the down time!

Turn it down please!
I need a nap…

TURN IT DOWN!
I grew up on a farm (and have subsequently moved back to one… after a six-month experiment in suburbia) so I like the quiet you get when you have basically no neighbors.
Whitney says
Turn it down! The older I get, the more I appreciate silence, haha.
Stephanie says

With a 3 year old and one on the way, my life stays pretty pumped up as it is. I love to cozy up with my husband and watch a movie or settle down with a good book.

TURN IT DOWN!
This is the constant struggle in my house, althought my preference has always been for quiet relaxing moments, I find myself in the middle of busy-ness quite often these days :) and I have to say I am starting to not hate it!
Shelley says
PUMP IT UP or TURN IT DOWN
I would normally be a ‘pump it’ girl but even those need a little downtime (like my past weekend!)
Stephen says
Turn it down. We like our house to have some nice music going, but no need to blast it!

Turn it down!!! With two children under five, one of whom is autistic, I just want some quiet time to relax and be Emma, not mammy! Although I do occassionally have a very (ahem!) small glass of wine and then PUMP IT UP!!!

PUMP IT UP!
Our home is pretty lively and these prints would be a wonderful addition!

Turn it down!
I like peace and quiet…it doesnt have to be completely quiet, but the quieter it is, the more in tune I am with my thoughts! :)
Katie says
PUMP IT UP… the louder the better! I already have Jessica Rose’s shop saved as one of my etsy favorites. A GC would be wonderful!!

turn it down!
Definitely more of a chill person …

TURN IT DOWN. I’d rather things be low key and then be able to turn it up when I want. When the noise level is permanently up, it’s too hard to get control to turn it down!

I work in recreation where just about everything is Pump It Up! So away from work I like to Turn It Down. Long bike rides through farmland with the husband. Solo runs through our neighborhood before anyone else is awake. Swims where the only sound is my own bubbles.
