I’m gonna bust out some flashback lingo from YHL circa 2008: prepare to swoon. This week’s giveaway is from our lovely sponsor Jessica Rose at Vol. 25, home to some of the most charming art around. I mean, how can you not fall for these robotic lovebirds?
The great thing is that Jessica’s artwork comes in the form of prints, t-shirts, rubber stamps, mouse pads, books and even photoshop overlays (so you can add a little hand-drawn flare to a photo). And since we couldn’t even begin to pick just a few favorite items for the giveaway, Jessica’s hooking up TWO of you with $50 gift cards towards anything in her shop (plus there’s a discount awaiting everyone on Thursday so stay tuned for that). Now you that know what’s up for grabs – how ’bout some more eye candy?
And here are all the contest deets:
- PRIZE: A $50 gift certificate towards anything from Vol. 25’s shops on Etsy or Zazzle.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with either the words “PUMP IT UP” or “TURN IT DOWN” depending on…
- BONUS QUESTION: … whether you love a loud and lively lifestyle or you prefer to keep things quiet and peaceful. Do you feel better surrounded by lots of activity, energizing music, or boisterous laughter? Or would you rather find yourself in an intimate conversation, enjoying soothing nature sounds, or quietly reading a book?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 21th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: TWO
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world! Woo to the hoo.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

TURN IT DOWN!
Pammy says
PUMP IT UP and TURN IT DOWN! I can go either way, when I’m cleaning, hanging out, organizing, working, I need some music to jam to. But when i’m reading, relaxing, sleeping, or practicing yoga, i have to have it quiet or have soothing barely audible music playing.
Kara Anthony says
PUMP IT UP. We love a good game night with good friends!

TURN IT DOWN! With two young boys there’s no shortage of activities and energy, so I typically like to tone it down – especially in the evenings when they’re in bed. We’re on the go alot, so it’s nice to relax.
kellyg says
turn it down… or pump it up? That’s a tough one for me- I like the lively, bustling life style for a while, but then I like our home to be calm and peaceful! But wither way, GREAT giveaway!!
Lexie says
PUMP IT UP! My husband and I constantly have music on, and between a demanding corgi and a clumsy greyhound, things rarely slow down around here – and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

PUMP IT UP! Even though I definitely enjoy quiet time my life is much more full of loud, active things like 4 dogs (1 mine, 1 roommate’s, 2 that are the neighbors’) running around and friends to laugh with.
beth cupitt says
turn it down mostly, though i think i need to pump it up today. slow and rainy with a sick baby.
Alanna says
TURN IT DOWN or PUMP IT UP. I love peaceful, quiet moments on my front porch with a good book, glass of wine, and my dogs curled up beside me. But I also love cooking dinner in my tiny kitchen with music blasting from the speakers (only so high to mask my poor singing but not so high that the dogs start howling).
Amy P says
I love to PUMP IT UP–the louder music, the more outrageous the people, the livelier the action the better! Although a TURN IT DOWN weekend every now and then is exactly what the doctor ordered. My husband and I were married at a lakeside retreat known for a great TURNED DOWN lifestyle and it was a weekend our guests STILL talk about! A balance of both is what I need.
Sam says
TURN IT DOWN
I live for those quiet, peaceful moments.
anna cordes says
turn it down. I’m happy as a clam having a conversation with someone, perferably outside somewhere, for hours on end. :)
Becky says
TURN IT DOWN…
There is nothing like spending a quiet afternoon at home listening to the chirps of spring birds, the hum of a neighbor’s lawn mower, and the lull of a distant train – all while having a cup of tea on my deck. After working with my little cherubs at a K-5 elementary school every day, I definitely appreciate the more peaceful sounds at home. :)
Nicole B says
PUMP IT UP & TURN IT DOWN!
I like both! I love laughter, music and fun, but there is also a time and place for the peaceful sounds of nature to just relax. Its all about balance : )
Annie says
I hate to admit it but I am more of a TURN IT DOWN person, but many occasions do call for me to PUMP IT UP!
Leslie @ {Tiny Wings} says
TURN IT DOWN, for the most part. But during family time, definitely PUMP IT UP! We get rather loud and silly!
Katie Wesner says
TURN IT DOWN! Actually, I would have to say a little bit of both. There’s nothing like the sound of laughter filling the air while hanging out on the couch!
Brandon F says
PUMP IT UP (sometimes)
I took one of these personality tests once and it said I’m like a sponge…I soak up noise and excitement but once I’m full I need alone time to squeeze it out.
Jenna says
Pump it up! When I’m cleaning or driving and TURN IT DOWN when I’m all done. It’s nice to relax after a organizing and cleaning.

TURN IT DOWN when I’m home relaxing, specially in the mornings. I like waking up to the bird taking residence on our magnolia. PUMP IT UP when I’m cleaning, driving, or just in the mood for music.

let’s PUMP IT UP! Everything is made better with lots of laughter and great music!
Elizabeth says
TURN IT DOWN! As much as I love liveliness and energy galore, we’ve got enough of that going on to hold us over for a lifetime! A long distance relationship that’s about to end in a military marriage where we only know our destination for the next 6 months means we could use some calm.
