Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Our lucky winner this week is… N Shirley (whose favorite dessert “to both make and eat is Virginia Apple Pudding – even makes the whole house smell good!”) Sounds delicious. Congrats!
We’ve had a few questions about why all contests aren’t open to international readers, so here’s that info for you. We actually ask every single vendor who approaches us to do a giveaway if they’ll ship internationally and we remind them that the more folks are included, the more exciting it is for everyone. We LOVE you all and always want to open our giveaways to as many people as possible! It unfortunately comes down to each company’s policy (some folks are set up to deal with customs/shipping internationally while some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – even if it’s just a book or a gift card). Sadly, we can’t change companies policies, and if we held out for international prizes and rejected everything else, we could no longer host weekly giveaways – which we’ve done for years. Hope that makes sense! We’ll continue to do our best to include as many of you guys as we can (we’re so glad this cookbook is open to Canadians too!).
With Thanksgiving just days away, think of this week’s giveaway as a warm up to all of the delicious food you’ll be stuffing your face with come Thursday. So if you’re like us and drool equally over amazing desserts and stylish kitchenware, you’re in luck. Seriously. I think I got a sugar high just by looking at some of the pictures.

CAKE ME!
Carrot cake! I think it’s mostly because of cream cheese icing. I’ve never been a huge fan of overly sweet icings and cream cheese icing is just perfect that I can have a thick layer without getting over-sweet.
Tessa says
Cake me!! I think I’d have to go with flourless chocolate cake. It’s so crey, smooth, and rich! I make my own and cover it with a chocolate ganache that’s a little spicy thanks to a dash of cayenne pepper.
Christina says
CAKE ME!!! I LOVE warm gooey brownies with vanilla ice cream on top—-oh I want some RIGHT NOW! Also, my fantastic husband made me an apple raspberry pie made from scratch for my birthday a few months ago and it was A.MA.ZING! So those two are my faves, though I’m all about the sweets lately and would gladly eat just about anything sweet right now!

Barb Carr says
CAKE ME!
My all-time favorite dessert is: ALL OF THEM. Seriously. If it has sugar in it and it’s baked, I love it (actually…. it doesn’t even have to be baked). Especially when I was pregnant– I craved sugar in the worst way, so I spent my pregnancy developing recipes for healthier versions of banana oatmeal cookies and tres leches cake. I figured if I was going to indulge, I might as well make it as healthy as possible!

Toby says

I definitely love to bake cupcakes, and can always eat chocolate chip cookies! But pecan pie is YUM!
Heather says
CAKE ME! My favorite cake ever is a recipe of my Finnish grandmother. (Her English wasn’t the best, but she demonstrated a lot of love through this cake!) It consists of layers of white cake, thick cream, strawberries, and chocolate shavings. The cake soaks up the strawberry juices. Ah – craving it now! I’ve never been able to recreate it properly. It’s one of those recipes where “cup” is not a measurement, but a very specific drinking glass in my grandmother’s house that she used to measure out flour, sugar, etc. Wow! I wrote a lot. I guess I’m just passionate about this cake. :)
