Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).
As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?
And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).
So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:
- PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Since we just closed escrow on our first home in October, we had our wedding photographer come out to take our picture in front of our home! We will also be including an invite to our housewarming party/ open house on New Years Eve!!!
I also send out Christmas cards for my Grandma. Since her 90th b’day is on the 21st of December, we will be getting her dressed up, take her picture, and announce her big birthday in her Christmas card!

this year is very exciting since inside each of our holiday cards to friends and family, we will be enclosing our wedding save-the-dates! It’s 2-for-1… this would be the best prize as we still need to select our invites, and I love these designs!

As an only child, holiday cards are quite awkward after 13 or so. Yet I’m 17 and my parents still force me into it! We’re thinking of ecards this year… unless, of course, I win this freebie!

I’ve been using boxed cards for a while, with a hand-written note inside. I’ve missed a few in the past several years though :(

We take fall pictures in front of our house each year and use those pics to make a New Years card to send out to friends and family.

We’re attempting a video message, complete with favorite holiday songs and maybe an ugly sweater or two, that we’ll email out to our friends and family.

EMMY ME Each year for our holiday card my husband and I pose near a landmark in our city. This year? Us, Elvis, and the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
Beth says
EMMY ME… even though I totally thought you had a misplaced apostrophe in your title and was debating about telling you before I even read the first sentence. ;)
I didn’t send Christmas cards this year. I’m not even putting up a tree! I know, I’m a Scrooge… but by the time we put it up, we’d have 1.5 weeks to enjoy it before we left town until the new year. Call me crazy (or a Scrooge), but that’s a lot of work for 10 days. Maybe next year I will get started sooner!
But yes… if I had 12 lovely designs from Emmy Lu, just THINK of all the ways I could make up for my lack of Christmas spirit! :)

We pose for the traditional Christmas card picture, although I think the outtakes would be a better pic!

We try to do a traditional family picture to enclose in our card each year. We try to have a different background/setting each year. And we just got out order of photos from Shutterfly this afternoon! I’m off to address and stuff some envelopes!
P.S. EMMY ME!

We send fairly traditional cards – this year we used a “fun” wedding photo that is the header of my blog as well. I try to put a personal message on each one, especially friends & family we won’t be seeing over the holidays. I also hand address them.

Since our bundle of joy arrived in 2008, we have our friend and amazing photographer Jen Fariello do a photo shoot with the boy for our Christmas cards. Check out her work @ jenfariello.com, she’s amazing and then designs fantastic custom cards.
So I don’t need the Emmy Lu giveaway for holiday cards but because I am a handwritten note fanatic! When I die, I want my obit to say “She never missed sending a thank you note.”

EMMY ME! I hate to sound like a scrooge, but I have never sent out family Christman cards or letters. I love personalized birthday and ‘just because’ cards but the thought of sending out tons of cards at once overwhelms me!

I try to steer away from the staged family photo, and go with a collage of photos from the year. I really love the candid-ness of it. Makes me feel like others would know me better if I were, you know — ME — instead of a staged background and fake fireplace…
…although I’ve been guilty of the fake fireplace pics, too! LOL!!

This year we are sending a combination birth announcement/christmas photo card. We just had a baby in nov. and with family spread all over the USA we wanted to send a photo card. PS – this is a one handed typing jobs as there is a baby in my other arm who needed a cuddle to fall asleep.

We always send a pic with our holiday greeting card, but this year we changed it up by doing a whole photo shoot with silly poses that are just totally “us” and we picked different poses to put in cards for different friends and family, based on which “side” of us they know best. It was so much fun!
