Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).
As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?
And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).
So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:
- PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Our Christmas card photos usually reflect somewhere that the previous year has taken us… Italy, Jamaica or the middle of a frozen lake! We’re hoping next year’s Christmas cards will feature us wearing Santa hats in front of the Great Pyramids!

“EMMY ME!” Such lovely cards! :) I send out a cheesy pic of my hubby and I-but it will be even better when we have kids someday! :)

I’m just so glad I’ve finally read “anywhere in the world”! My boyfriend and I never send out xmas cards, but I don’t feel too bad about it because here (in Argentina!)that’s something that only companies do! Or at least we’ve never got or seen such a thing from friends or family!

I always intend on sending out Christmas cards with a family picture, but it hasn’t happened yet . . .

I am terrible about Christmas cards. But, I settled on a short list this year (we just sent out baby announcements a couple months ago), so I am hoping to actually accomplish that! OH, and I’ve never done a custom Christmas card before… always stock cards.

My mom still drags me into the “family” Christmas card. I tried to convince my boyfriend to do a Christmas card with us and our baby (dachshund), he laughed at me.

We love to send out regular Christmas cards with a photo slipped inside the envelope as well!

We’ve actually abstained from the usual holiday cards because they end up in the garbage! We try to ensure we see everyone during the holidays to wish our best in person.

I haven’t sent out cards in years. However, if I won these cards, I WOULD send out Christmas cards.

I always want to do a beautiful but quirky greeting to people and I imagine my doggies in an array of get-ups but I never seem to live up to my hopes so at most we get an impromptu image of the puppies getting into decorations posted on facebook

Sometimes I send xmas cards–My favorite is to do Thanksgiving cards and Valentine’s cards…..more fun because it’s not as expected.

I’m really terrible about sending Christmas cards. I usually just go with e-cards. When my family is more than just me, though, I think it’d be fun to do picture cards.

I always do Christmas cards, but since David moved to Auburn I’ve had to be more creative to do a card with both boys on it, since I don’t always have a new picture of them together! But I have — so far! — always managed to come up with something!

I have sent vintage Vogue Christmas cards last year but am thinking of doing a photo card for 2009. I was married this year and still haven’t gotten any photos out to anybody, so it might be a good opportunity to get 2 birds with 1 stone ;-)

EMMY ME!! I’m so excited! I’ve been eyeing Emmly Lu’s site for a while!
Since we’ve been married we’ve done it all…no card, christmas letter, photo card, and e-cards. This year we’re doing another photo card.
I’m so glad you’ve hooked up with Emmy Lu!! :-)

The past few years we have done a photo card…The very best one was from 2007, where we announced our engagement to the world with a photo card. It was lots of fun to share our joy that way! :)

We send out traditional Christmas cards, but we put in a letter that is more “laugh along with us about our life” as opposed to “look at our perfect family” … it’s a lot of fun to write.
Jocelyn says
EMMY ME!
We always send a family picture – usually posed, but not studioed. And everyone in the family has to be in it; we like seeing everyone! I guess we just do that because that’s what my family did growing up (though my dad would always write a hilarious Christmas letter to go with it).

We have always abstained from the holidays (I am a modern day grinch), but since adding to our brood (baby last January) we will do something this year. Whatever that is, it will involve lots of pictures of the cutest baby in the world. I need to get on that. Christmas is getting closer every day.
nikki says
emmy me! we either go diy or target depending on the level of craziness around the holidays. :)
Dana says
“EMMY ME!” We don’t usually send out Christmas cards but we do donate $/time to a heartfelt cause every year dedicated to our extended families. We do a little write-up about it to give in person. We could totally use this to do that… or something else!

My love for sending greeting’s and cards began when I was very young. For the past few years, I have done photo cards. I get very creative with them by photoshopping Clark Griswold, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch, and good ole’ Charlie Brown into my photo’s to add a funny element to our pix. This year I plan to get more hands on as a diy-er and make my own cards using embellishments and scrapbooking materials. I like alot of natural eco-friendly products as well. I think sending greetings are an important part of the Holidays because for some it may be the only thing they recieve but they will know someone is thinking of them this Holiday season. My great grandmother passed away this past July and she would never forget the cards I sent her. Usually for all occasions but mostly “just because”. Out of her 44 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, she always would brag that I was the only one that thought to send her cards. They meant everything to her. Now that shes gone, the ones I recieved from her mean everything to me. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Marian says
emmy me! We try to get a good family picture (almost impossible with three little boys, thank goodness for photo shop!) and then send it out with a little update–they’re not out yet this year, hopefully we’ll get one out!
