Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).
As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?
And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).
So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:
- PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I usually send traditional store-bought cards, but this year I’m hoping to send a family picture card…me, hubby and puppy!

I LOVE making holiday cards! Sometimes it’s just the kids, and sometimes it’s the whole family. This year money is tight so we won’t be sending them out. :(

My roommate and I like to take really cheesy holiday photos: think fireplace, tacky 80’s Christmas sweaters, and pets that don’t even belong to us.
We really enjoy making everyone think we’re lovers!

This is our first year sending out Christmas cards, and we plan to send a goofy snail mailed card to all of our friends and family with a big ol’ pic of our insane kitten, Bert on the front.

As long as I’m not in the Christmas card photo, it’s all good! The cats and kids get center stage.

We haven’t sent out a Christmas card in several years. I found a deal with Vistaprint this year and got 100 Christmas postcards made for around $14. Tough to beat that! Looking forward to sending them out and spreading some hoilday cheer from us and the pup! We will have our first baby next year, so they will be even more fun then!

We’re “posers” for our Christmas cards. We always send one with a picture of us. I have a huge family and don’t always get to see many of them very often… so we keep up with eachother through pictures (and emails).

EMMY ME! If we can hand write in a few christmas cards to our closest friends and family, then it’s a good year!

EMMY ME! Sometimes traditional, sometimes a little more quirky, but always a picture of the kiddos.

I have a tendency to make fun of people who send photos of themselves as holiday cards. Maybe a set from Emmy Lu will change my mind. :-)

We try to send a picture card out each year. It has been years since we have written a Christmas letter – this year, we were on the ball and wrote one. Now all is left is to take the picture!

I look forward to sending out DIY Christmas Cards all year! This year’s card entailed several failed photo shoot attempts at DC monuments, so we eventually settled on a Christmas tree pose.

I haven’t managed to get holiday cards out in years! This would really help with that. The one thing I am really good at is getting birthday cards to all 15 of my nieces and nephews. Custom birthday cards would be divine!
brianne says
Emmy Me! Usually i picked up some fun letterpressed or screenprinted cards on clearance and send out sometime in december (although sometimes late!)

We send out Christmas cards that we have all signed, sometimes we include a family picture.
Melanie says
We send the picture card, but we always do a twist. We try not to get caught in the traditional family photo, and want to provide a laugh when our friends open it. We have even photoshopped our dog as well!
Anne says

I am pretty boring when it comes to Christmas cards. When I do send them out I just send some set I bought from Hallmark\Target\etc. The only requirement…it has to be funny. I’m not a huge fan of sentimental cards.

I am a single girl without a ‘reason’ to do a picture Christmas card but I think I may be creative for next year.
I LOVE receiving picture Christmas cards or any invitiation/stationary. I hang my Christmas cards on my fire place each year with a reb ribbon (http://shelleyscollection.blogspot.com/2008/12/and-cards-were-hung-by-chimney-with.html)….and leave them up for months. Winning this would make me a HAPPY girl!
Robin says
Emmy Me! Haven’t sent any before, would start to with this prize though. Neat looking!
Jess B says
EMMY ME! Some times I have the kids pose for a pic, other years I’ve made a crossword puzzle with picture clues of things that we’ve done all year. Depends on how far ahead I was thinking that year ;)
Sarah says
EMMY ME!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first year we will be sending out a family photo – our baby girl is 4 months old!
Kalee says
EMMY ME!!! My husband and I pick out traditional Christmas cards to send out. For me, it’s a chance to check in on some relatives (such as great aunts and uncles) that I don’t see a lot. For my husband it’s a chance to placate his sisters and make them think he likes them all equally!

I generally hand make my christmas cards – and then never find time to actually write them and mail them! This would help a lot.
