Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).
As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?
And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).
So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:
- PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We typically send out store bought Christmas cards each year but I try to buy unicef ones so the proceeds go to a good cause.
Kristin says
Emmy Me!!! I usually order traditional Christmas photo cards…in late October/early November. Sometimes, like this year, I regret my very early choice and have to send the cards back and get them reprinted! Now I am still waiting for them to arrive :-) So much for being ahead of the game!

This year we are not sending out greetings cards (for the 1st time ever), we are making a donation to the Salvation Army instead. Feels weird though, to not send any out!

I’m being one of THOSE people and making my cat pose with Santa this year. Haha. She’ll love it… Or maybe I’ll save her (and me) the suffering and photoshop her picture.
Shelly Little says
EMMY ME! Almost every Christmas, I make handmade cards and send them out to 50+ friends and family, but at the end of October we welcomed a baby girl into our family, so I have decided to admit to myself that over 50 handmade cards are just not going to happen this year, which is exactly why winning this giveaway would be great!

EMMY ME! always DIY traditional Christmas Cards …
Karin Rigo says
We enjoy the first Christmas as a couple, without mom or dad :), maybe sent them pictures of us and our cats & dog hehe

We havent sent out christmas cards in the past, but we love getting them! This actually makes me think we should, as I love when holiday cards are accompanied by yearly family updates!

EMMY ME! We like to send out Christmas cards that highlight the Guide Dog puppy that we have raised during the year. This year’s card with feature Lyddie, our German Shepherd guide dog puppy in training. We currently live in New Zealand and nice, quality, affordable stationary is hard to come by. Emmy Lu would be the answer to my prayers!

We always try something different with photoshop….from taking pictures from the year and making a collage Christmas tree card, to making snow angels and photoshopping everyone together in a circle.
Jenny says
Emmy Me! We usually do a family pic (including our pooch!) and this year we’re doing one with Merry Christmas written in the sand, and saying “warm wishes for your holiday season.” ;)
Annelies says
EMMY ME !! Yaay for international giveaways!
Here no christmas cards but lots of homemade and online-made birthday cards.

We don’t send Christmas greetings, just don’t have time for it. Christmas always seems to sneak up on me. And noone sends any to us anyway (wait, could there be a connection…?)

Not big on sending out greetings here, I have to say…
I like cards all year round, but not really for Christmas or New Year.
Carrie says
Emmy Me!!! I love sending hand written notes and cards- but I am SO BAD at sending them! My husband’s grandmother has gotten me to get a little better, but I will often send a happy Halloween card the same day as a Christmas card! Doh!

EMMY ME!! We usually send a card with our dog, Morgan, on it. She is brown like a deer so a pair of felt antlers (from targets $1 zone) looks great… and who can resist a dog in a santa hat?
This year hopefully a family shot (of course including Morgan) in front of the tree!

I go back and forth, last year we didn’t send anything. Two years ago, we sent sweet handwritten notes to a few people we couldn’t be with over the holidays. This year, well with a 9 month old, I might to a Christmas letter and photos of the kiddo, we’ll see.

I prefer to send out e-cards, especially if they’re funny. My brother, who has two miniature schnauzers, prefers the Photoshop-your-dog-into-a-funny-picture route, which I find hilarious! They already have the beard, so the Santa look fits them well.

We’re sending an email Christmas letter this year with photos and anecdotes. There’s too much going on right now to send them via snail mail.
Mary in Baltimore says
EMMY ME!
We try to send out cards that have something to do with our city of Baltimore, or places where we have vacationed. Those types of cards give a little glimpse into our surroundings or what we may have done the previous year. Thanks for the generous giveaway!

These are a great giveaway :)! We usually buy normal old Christmas cards, but make a fun insert to go inside (nothing too fancy, and not a full page letter, but just a little something to give a quick update). We also try (most of the time) to actually hand write (*shocker!*) a little something to make it even more personal.

Emmy Me! Some years I am with it and others not so much – this year not so much! I have a really big family 7 brothers and sisters, over 20 aunts and uncles and 79 1st cousins so Christmas Cards are not to be taken lightly. I am hoping for next year!
Veronique says
EMMY ME! I don’t actually send cards or anything of the sort. I make them and give them away at the same time I give away my gifts. Each year there is a card/wrapping theme. Last year it was black/dark gray wrapping paper with bold stripes. White twine and red buttons to hold everything in the middle.

Emmy Me! We’re pretty typical in sending out a Santa pic of our son. Thankfully Santa is Pap (my dad) so we don’t have to deal with the shopping mall trauma and bad Santa pics.

Emmy Me- I never send greeting cards or invitations anymore. Everything online but when I saw these I felt like this could really stand out and be a keepsake. I love them.

We always take a Christmas photo of our two dogs, our red eared slider (turtle), our chinchilla, my fiance and myself…..we take our picture together and then somehow on the photo card put the animals on there…..its a great holiday present, especially for the “grand parents” as we don’g have any “real” children yet!!

We usually take a “family” shot from earlier in the year (me+fiance+mini schnauzer) and incorporate it into a holiday card. Last year it was the three of us before a winter night football game all bundled up.
