Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).
As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?
And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).
So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:
- PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Photo cards although this year we were in cartoon form.

Emmy Me! Up until last year we just sent out Christmas cards that we purchased in bulk. We decided last year to do a picture Christmas card with a personal message from our family, and we plan on continuing that tradition each year. This year will be especially interesting since we’re going to try to get a good photo with our dog and 1-month-old :).

We avoided sending out Christmas cards until this year and figured since it was our daughter’s first we better get with the program!

EMMY ME!! We haven’t sent out a Christmas card for a couple years, but we like photo ones so we can include our two fur-balls!

EMMY ME!!! I do a photo card and it ALWAYS has our 3 dogs in it – thought it has changed over the years – one year it was just the dogs, one year it was us and the dogs and this year when my husband refused to take the dogs to our family picture taking (b/c I will have to agree – they had a little too much fun running around the park last year and their tongues were on the ground and not so attractive in the picture) so it is a picture of us and our daughter then the dogs got their own little individual pics :) I love to send letters and would LOVE to win this prize!

EMMY ME — My husband and I include with our Christmas cards a newsletter updating our family and friends on all that we did that year. We call it our Holiday Herald! : )
Hillary Fairfield says
EMME ME! My family never misses the traditional Christmas card and letter updating friends and family on all the year’s happenings. However, with newborn babies in the family we have reinstated the annual family photos to add to the Christmas card…and the dogs are always included in the mug shot with their custom made christmas scarves made by my mother.

We totally abstain from the christmas card madness- being a pastor keeps me way to busy during the season to be addressing cards…. but if I could just print something fab the possibility would certainly be stronger!
Meagan says
EMMY ME!!!
we had the photographer who did our wedding come take some funny pictures of us in matching Christmas PJs for our Christmas card

I love her designs!
My family has been doing the holiday picture posing thing for the past 5 years or so. Last year we all just piled on the couch together, we’ve also done leaf throwing thing and tangled Christmas lights pose. It is always a fun family bonding time. Being engaged, I am already getting excited to do a creative fun photo card with my new husband(!) next Christmas! :)

We do the home made Christmas photo with the dog (I’d really like to get a professional one done some day)and write about the big things that happened this year. I’m working on them right now in fact!

I had planned on writing out all our Christmas cards this past weekend, but didn’t get around to it! I really need to get it done during the week so that they get out in time! :) I send traditional cards found at the store. We have no cute baby to wrap in lights, and sadly our 2 feline babies are much too rambunctious to sit still for a photo op. I would love some of Emmy Lu’s designs to make things more unique!

I usually try to get a picture of me and the hubby at a Christmas Party towards the beginning of the month, in just enough time to send them out with cards before Christmas!

I usually just go with regular cards, but I was thinking I might do something a little more fun this year with my super cute puppies.

EMMY ME!
I usually send out cards (that I buy for 50% off after the holidays the year before) and send a photo of me & the hubs to our close friends and family.
Karla D. says
EMMY ME!!!
I usually buy cards with a cut out area for a photo. We do this every year. We also include a Christmas letter to our family and friends that we don’t get to see or talk to as often. I actually started a scrapbook which holds our Christmas card and Christmas letter we’ve put together each year so that in 20 years from now we can look back and see what we were doing and what photo we took from say our 3rd Christmas together. :)
I would love to win this prize, these cards are so pretty!

We take a christmas picture each year, then get the photo cards from Costco. I also just happen to dress up my dogs each year for the picture as well!!
Melissa Baker says
Emmy ME!!! I am in law school and send late store bought cards, but am looking forward to having more time!
Tracy says
EMMY ME! I am never consistent with Christmas cards, but I am going to make it happen this year. I think one of my best years, I wrote out a typed letter with pictures that I had taken throughout the year as a border. That was fun and showed what I had been up to. It has been a busy year now that I am a newly wed, so it would be perfect to try that again!

I love sending Christmas cards and usually just find a design out there I like. This year I’m having to be quite budget conscious though, and went to the Dollar Tree to find some cards – 32 for $2, can’t beat that!
Emily says
EMMY ME!
We send out photo cards. I usually try to take a posed shot of both our boys together, but the toddler would have none of that nonsense this year. I just pulled a few of our favorite snapshots from the entire year instead to create a “visual Christmas letter.”
Krista D. says
EMMY ME!
The past few years, I’ve taken pics of my kids and created cards online. This year, I may try my hand at designing my own. Unless Random.org comes through for me, that is…

Abstaining this year, since I’m 24 I figure I’m still young enough to be erratic with my Holiday card sending, no pressure until you’re married! :)
Erica S says
Emmy Me! I have always made handcrafted cards in the past. However, with an 18-month-old and a baby due to arrive Dec. 21, this might be a tradition that is forgotten for the next couple of years.

I am trying to get a photo taken so i can order one of the Emmy Lu cards b/c I fell in love when I saw your post on sponsors last week. I hope I win, because their designs are awesome! Oh, and we usually do a photo with the dog, since she is our only child right now :)

Last year, I made my own Christmas cards… But, with the amount of work to do, this year, I decided to turn myself to store bought cards! LOL

We actually DIYed our wedding invitations ourselves but it sure would have been awesome if we had them designed by Emmy Lu!

I love to send Christmas cards every year. I was going to make my own this year, then found 2 boxes I had about for $2 each at a garage sale this past summer. So it is just traditional cards from me this year.

I pick a favorite picture from the past year, design a card, and get it printed up and sent out. Pretty basic!
But I’d love an Emmy Lu design every month! How fun – especially since we’re going to be (hopefully) adopting in 2010 and cute annoucements would be oh so fun.

I ususally do a photo card to friends and family for the new year. Typically, I can’t get it together to get a card out any earlier than just after the new year. !! I’m hoping that Emmy will help me stay on top of my communications this year!
Ashley says
EMMY ME!!! I love holiday cards and can’t wait to send mine this year. We typically just go with what’s in the stores, but I’m really looking forward to next year’s with our wedding photo on it!
