***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

SEW ME! I find creating with a sewing machine so much fun and relaxing! I would rate myself a 7ish–I have spent many hours behind a sewing machine.
Esther says
Sew Me
I would rank a 3, but if I won this I would see more and maybe make it up to a 4 ;-)
Kim says
SEW ME! I am a 4 or 5. I can sew almost anything with a pattern, but trust me, there will be some seam ripping.
Callie says
SEW ME!
I’m a 2! I can follow very easy and detailed instructions, but one day I’d love to be a 10 like my mom!
taysha riggs says
SEW ME
I think I may be a 5… I can follow somewhat simple instructions and have made a cool thing or two
Shannon Scherrer says
Sew me!!!! I’m a 1 no doubt with a dream to be a 10.
Allyssa says
SEW ME!
I’m probably a 3. I once sewed a pillow but it was a bit deformed. I’ve always wanted a sewing machine though so I could practice!
Grace says
SEW ME!
I would rank myself a 5. I used to sew all throughout high school but have not had a machine in years and would love to improve those basic skills!
Emma says
SEW ME! I’m probably a 4 or 5… a new (functional) machine would inspire me to sew more often!
Erin says
SEW ME!
Hmmm…maybe a 2? I hem (by hand) and put buttons on, but that’s about it. My mother sews like a fiend on an antique Singer. Would love to learn on one of my own :)
Shelby L says
SEW ME!
Kelli says
Sew me! Unfortunately, I’m a 1, but I’d love to learn.
Rebecca says
SEW ME A RIVER! hahah.
I’m most definitely, maybe at a stretch, a 2. I learnt how to make cushion covers when I was younger. And I could put a button back on, but that’s about the extent of my sewmanship. My nan is a fantastic sewer, and those genes skipped my Mother, so I guess it’s up to me!? Learning to sew was actually on my bucket list this year, looks like I’ll be extending that one! :) Love the blog. x
Ginny says
SEW ME! I’m maybe a 2… but it is a skill I’d like to develop!
Emily says
SEW ME! I am definitely a 0.
Ver says
SEW ME!
I’m about a 2… But would love to get better with a new Singer sewing machine!!
Stefanie says
SEW ME!
I’d probably be a 1 or 2 – only because I have to have some hidden sewing talent in my genes – my mom used to make all of our Barbie clothes, and i’m telling you, my mom’s homemade Barbie wedding dress was WAY better than the store-bought one!
Sarah says
SEW ME…probably a 4. I enjoy it so much but tend to only learn what I have to to get the project done. I wish I had more time to get all fancy with my sewing though.
Robin from Frugal Family Times says
Sew me! I’m probably an 8. I love sewing home stuff: slip covers, pillows, curtains, etc. Clothes? I made a really sorry grad dress in high school and now stick to hems and costumes.
Erin Brown says
Sew Me!
I’m a 1 but have plans to get my grandmother to start teaching me her skills soon!
Serena says
SEW ME!
Right now I’d say I’m a 3 – wonky bags for everyone! But I am really into learning more about sewing right now, so this giveaway would make my day! :)
PS: I <3 giveaways that we Canucks can participate in :D
Juliet says
SEW ME!
I’d say I’m a 4. Good with home decor and halloween costumes, tragic with clothes. :)
Liz says
sew me! Definitely a one. I still have troubles with sewing on buttons!
Martina says
SEW ME!
I’m probably a 1 or a 2 – I would need help in remembering how to thread the machine, but once that was accomplished, I think I could make something small and simple.
leslie says
SEW ME!
I’m maybe a five … working towards a solid 5.5 … and I’m looking forward to Christmas when I can have some dedicated sewing time!
Angie says
Sew me. I’m a 6.
Jann Whidden says
Sew me!
I’m about a 3, would love to improve. :)
Kelly says
SEW ME!
I’m definitely a 2 – I can whip up a pillow cover no problem but don’t expect it to be perfectly square!
Kristin says
Sew me! I am a sewing 0, but my mom is a sewing hero. I’d like to give her a machine worthy of her skill.
Amanda says
Sew me! I’d give myself a 3. I can sew a wobbly seam, but I’d love a more reliable machine to learn on!
Jen says
SEW ME!
I’m definitely a 3 like Sherry, but I’ve got a few projected pinned on Pinterest that could take me up to a 4 or 5:)
Andrea says
SEW ME!
I’m a 2. I just learned to use a sewing machine this summer so I can make a pillow!
Chelsea Finke says
SEW ME!
I would have to say that I am a 3-4. There are a few things that I can do, but I am afraid to do more. Once I get comfortable.. I stay there. But I’d love to learn!
Kathryn Good says
“SEW ME!” I’m a 3 also. I can sew and I have an old (beautiful) singer, but I think if it could do more I could do more
Naomi says
SEW ME!
Definitely a 4, maybe 5 on a good day or a 3 on a “wonky” day. I just spent the weekend sewing crib bedding (crib sheets and crib blanket). I can follow some intermediate patterns and create my own patterns for some things too! Love sewing for our future little one!!
Lesley says
Sew Me!
I would say a 2. I have to read the instructions every time but if I really am focused I can sew a straight line. My last (and only 2nd project on my sewing machine) is a bean bag that I even sewed a zipper into. Go me!
Michallynn says
SEW ME! I’m probably a 5. I enjoy sewing and don’t get to do it often enough!

SEW ME! Probably a 1, and that’s if I gave it my bestEST effort!
hollyloo says
SEW ME!
I’m a 1, if that, but i’ve always wanted to learn!
Silvi says
SEW ME!
I think I am a 1, maybe a 2 and thats why I need this lovely machine!!!
Leasa says
Sew me! I’m a complete novice to sewing.. although I do occasionally peruse the fabric store imagining what I’d create if I could sew. :)
Caitlin Skoda says
SEW ME!
Oh I am probably a 1.5 or a 2…I made pillows a year ago for our living room…but my husband had to do the finishing touches for me!
Lesley says
SEW ME!
I’m a 2. I can mend holes and sew on buttons. But I got dreams, yo!
Corrie says
Sew me!
I am definitely a 1, but with a kiddo on the way I desire to be much higher!
Liz says
Sew me!
I’m about a 4 right now – comfortable enough with the machine to follow attempt new projects and patterns with comfort, and even to improvise in designing something new.
Thanks!
annie says
SEW ME!! I think I’m about a 2, I think I can do a semi-straight line :)
Becky :) says
“SEW ME!” I am probably a 4? I make a mean bedskirt ;)
SEW ME! says
I’d say I’m a 5. I know a little, but I’m no pro!
Stesse says
SEW ME!
I’m about a 3 or 4. I think I have the ability to be better but I lack patience… I have the vision though! My biggest problem is when the bobbin thread gets stuck – I get frustrated – project gets stopped in its tracks.
alissa says
SEW ME TOO!!
I have a fantastic vintage Singer that is at the point of no more repairs. A new machine is way out of my budget, but my sewing projects keep piling up! My skill level is probably about a 3 or 4. Gotta keep sewing to get better! :)
