***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

SEW ME!
I’m about a 2.5 on the sewing scale, but I’m about to have my first bub in about 3-4 weeks and I really have so (sew?) many ideas for decorating and things that require sewing skills. An awesome sewing machine would certainly make life easier!!! :-)
Amanda Morgan says
SEW ME!!! I am totally a 1, maybe 2, but would love to be higher on that ranking!! Sew ME!!
SJ says
SEW ME! I’m a zero…never used one before, but really want to learn! I’ve mastered hemming tape…time to upgrade my skills.

Sew me! I don’t sew…….yet! I’ve been waiting to buy a machine and learn! I want to sew things for y kiddo and house projects!
Anna says
SEW ME!
I’ll give myself a 7. I feel like I can tackle most sewing projects, and I at least know enough to realize how much I don’t know (SO MANY STITCH PATTERNS!). This machine looks amazing!
Campbell says
SEW ME … I am between Stitch Witchery and simple sewing projects. I am slowly putting together a basic duvet cover. Thank you.
Elizabeth M. says
SEW ME! I am probably around an 8. (I made Clara the pouch at the MPLS signing?)I would love to have a nicer machine than the one I do now.
Diane says
SEW ME!!
I am maybe a 2 or 3 – but hand sewing only. I can sew on a button and lately have had to learn to sew on patches to my son’s Cub Scout uniform. They look fine if you don’t look too closely. :)
Sarah says
SEW ME! I rate about a 6. I recently sewed all my daughters pocket cloth diapers (20!) and used to see all my own scrubs when I worked as a floor nurse.
Teresa olander says
SEW ME! I could be 5 or 6 points higher with a machine that cooperated!
Betsy says
SEW ME!
I guess I’m a two – I can occasionally mend something by hand but I’m really a wreck with a sewing machine. My mom, however, is like a 9, and I’m aspiring to be like her!
Kate F. says
SEW ME!! I’m going with a solid 7… but I love it as much as if I were a 10. I’m even a member of my local quilt guild.
Alex G says
SEW ME!

Rachel says
SEW ME!
I’m maybe a 2.
Trish says
SEW ME!
I am an 8, as I still need patterns to sew. I am not talented enough to create from scratch, but I have been sewing for 42 years, and have made everything from handpainted quilts to doll clothing, to my own wedding gown (Vogue!) back when I was 21. I also have an Etsy shop now!
Stephanie Montecalvo says
Sew Me PLEASE!!!!
Lissa says

I am probably rivaling Sherry at level 3. Everything I’ve made is somewhat successful, but no where near great.

SEW ME!! I am probably with Sherry, around a 3, I might put myself at a 4, but in High School my friend and I would hangout on Friday and Saturday Nights and Sew! Yes “Dork Alert” right there!
Chrissie says
SEW ME! Also, colour me excited at an international giveaway! Yay Singer!
I would rank myself as a 2 – I could sew a wonky bag, but it may have some “speed holes”. I did make a baby dressing gown in high school though, so I think I had some skills once… if only I could find where I left them!
Kate W. says
SEW Me!!
I would have to label myself as a solid 2 on the sewing machine continuum. I always mess up threading the needle and bobbin. The automatic threader sounds amazing! Love your blog; thanks for running this generous giveaway!
Dee W says
Sew me!!! I’m probably a 2… and only thanks to my grandmother’s undying efforts to teach me as a teenager! Man I wish I had paid attention…
Pearl says
SEW ME! I’m also a pretty solid 3.
Sarah J. says
SEW ME!!!
I cannot believe this but a sewing machine was in my Christmas wishlist but it’s way out of our budget:( So glad I visited your blog today:)
I would say I am around 4-5. I have only used the antique sewing machine that belongs to my grandma – does that count?
amber rich says

Amy says
SEW ME!
I am about a 5 in sewing skills.
I used a basic singer sewing machine (strictly analog machine) from 1986. I would love to have a newer machine to give to my niece who just started college this year.
I love your blog. I love the energy. I am always inspired by your projects. I followed your kitchen project daily. It was better than RHOBH.
Kathleen says
SEW ME! That would be an awesome thing to win for myself for Christmas. I’ve always wanted a sewing machine, just never allotted my funds to buy one! I am a very low level sewer (my skills are non existent)
Christina says
SEW ME!!
I desperately need a new machine. My last singer died after 25 years of service.

I’m probably a 9. I even sew on my scrapbook pages. I would love this machine! My current one would go to my daughter in law and I’d give this one a serious work out.
Thanks for the opportunity to win one!
Jessica C says
Sew me! I’m around a 3-5, took home ec, can sew a straight line and plan to parlay that into some curtains and pillows for our home!
Jackie A says
SEW ME!!!! PLEASE SEW ME!!!!
I am probably a 2. I can sew enough to close up a hole in something but not much more than that. My fiance and I are getting married in April so there’s a ton of upcoming wedding gifts I have fantastic ideas for but can’t get far with my hands. A fully equipped machine like this beaut would make it super easy and fast for me to DIY til my hearts content, and also allow me to make baby blankets when the time comes! Oh, and impress my MIL :)
JanaHana says
SEW ME!
I am a 4, maybe 5 if I had a better sewing machine ;)
Anya says
Sew me!
And I might be able to pull off a 2….maybe.
