***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Sew Me please! Hmmm I’m probably a 5 on the scale of 1 to 10. Ill try almost anything once. I would love to try this fancy sewing machine!!
Sarah says
SEW ME! Definitely a 1.. but I want to learn!
Shondra says
Sew me! I’m a 1, only because I’ve hand sewed a button back on a shirt one time.
Angelica says
SEW ME…like a polaroid picture. In my eyes like a 5.75 but according to some of my projects 3.25. Just need more practice ha
Susan says
SEW ME
I’m about a 7, but my enthusiasm to learn more is a 10+. I’ll be a life long sewer! I love to shop at Goodwill for stuff that’s just a little too big/long and then sew it to fit me. If it doesn’t work out the way I like, I’ve only spent a few bucks on fabric. Lol. If it does work out the way I like, I’ve only spent a few bucks on a new wardrobe item! :-)
Sally says
SEW ME! I currently have to wind the bobbin using a clothes pin and a butter knife. Tricky, but it works. Oh, I guess I’m a 5 – great on things like curtains and sewing repairs, not so good on clothes. I still have nightmares from Miss Sloan’s 7th grade sewing class….
Nicky at Not My Mother says
SEW ME!
I would consider myself a 2… only because of the sewing classes at school. Haven’t touched it since!
(PS. YAY Singer for going worldwide!)
Stephanie says
SEW ME!!!! I am a 3. I can sew straight lines, but I learned only by admiring my grandmother from afar. My baby boomer mother thinks sewing is nuts. I love making my kids small baubles and simple clothing… an easy machine would be wonderful!
Alyssa Pederson says
SEW ME! I used to sew in middle school and would love to take it up again!
Katie says
Sew Me.
The last thing I sewed was a Mickey Mouse pillow in 7th grade!
Brit says
SEW ME! I’m definitely at about a 1. I know what the pedal does. That’s the limit of my knowledge!
Kimberly says
I am a rusty 5 — I once made tab top curtains (14 panels total) for my first apartment. My current machine is from 1974–my mom’s!

Ashley says
Sew Me! I found your blog from pinterest and I have loved going back to read your posts! I am a 1 on the sewing scale, but have thought about trying to learn recently. I have a toddler and would love to be able to make some cute ruffle clothes for her!
Tonya S says

SEW ME!
I am probably a 3…but think I’m a 5.
Gina T says
SEW ME!
I’d consider myself a middle of road 5 or 6. I can usually get the job done, it just may take a little longer.
Cindy says
SEW ME!!
I would say I’m a 4. I’ve made some cute blankets for my kids, but that’s about it. I use my grandmother’s old sewing machine. Maybe if I had a brand-spanking new machine, I would get better!! :)
Wendi Roush says
SEW ME!!!
Skills not too good, but would love to learn!!!
Tamara Sarg says
Sew me! I would guess I’m a 7 or there abouts. I’ve been sewing since I was a little girl.
Maja says
SEW ME! I’d say I’m about a 3 right there with Sherry! That is if the machine is working but once the machine fails so do I!
Ashley L says
SEW ME! I’m awful at sewing – I still take stuff to my mom to sew because I am so bad. I’ve been wanting to learn to use a sewing machine so I can make my own pillows!
Rose says
This is SEW ME! I’m definitely a 3=proficient in sewing curtains, but little else.
Fran says
SEW ME! I give myself a 0 with sewing machines and a 1 sewing by hand. But I DO have a Pinterest board called “must learn to sew”. That counts, right??? :)
Juliet says
Sew Me!
I am probably a 2. I have basic skills that I have let lapse over the years. Some technology would be helpful to get me started again!

SEW ME!!
I have no sewing skills but would love to learn!
Maegan says
SEW ME! I am definitely a 1!
Emily says
SEW ME!!!
I’m a 5. My mom taught me to sew as a kid and I’m still using the machine she got as a wedding present 40 years ago. So yeah, time for an upgrade.

SEW ME!
Definitely a 1 going on 2…

Andrea says
SEW ME!
Gosh, I would love to win this! I’m probably about a 3 :-) Just borrowed my MIL’s sewing machine to make some things I saw on Pinterest. I hadn’t touched a sewing machine since high school, so I did some passionate muttering of my own at first :-) But it was super fun once I got the hang of it again! Lots to learn tho!
Megan G says
SEW ME!
I always rely on hand sewing my crafts, which I’d say I’m an 8 at. But, machine sewing… -2? I hope this machine could turn me around!
ashley says
“Sew Me” – I definitely can sew and like to – but I don’t have my own machine (I use one of my mom’s when I make a trip home). I’d be super-psyched to get one of these babies!!!
Thanks!
Stephanie says
SEW ME!!
I’d label myself a solid 3… I aced the sewing portion of home ec in school and have always had an interest in sewing. I’d love to be able to make curtains for my currently curtain-less house!!
Bonnie says
Sew me! I’m a 2 and have been trying to find an inexpensive sewing machine because I’m on a budget. This would definitely help us out!
Vicki says
SEW ME! (…sew me sew me how you do that trick. Sorry, couldn’t control myself.)
I’m about a level 2. I can use my sewing machine, but have to look up youtube instructions for how to re-thread it every single time I use it.
Ellen says
SEW ME! I’m probably around a 5 but hoping to get better!
Lauren says
sew me!
1
Kelly says
SEW ME! I would say I’m around a 3. I’ve been working hard on improving my sewing skills. Recently I made curtains, pillows, a dog bed, and my Halloween costume. My grandma made all her clothes and all of my mom’s clothes so I feel like I have a 10 in my blood…I just need to get there!
Sonia says
SEW ME! I would say a 1. I am handy with the iron tape though
Sarah says
SEW ME! :)
I’m about a 5 or 6. I taught myself through trial and error, so I’m sure I do plenty of things wrong .. but I can usually make projects look pretty good in the end! :)
Brooke says
SEW ME! I’d say maybe a 2…you get a few points for plugging the machine in, right?!? It would be great to have a beautiful new machine to learn on!
Ellen says
Sew me! I would rank myself a 6. Quilts, curtains, pillows are no problem, but I really like to make homemade gifts like an apron for the little chef in my house, or a camera strap for the budding photographer. This year includes some ugly dolls for my niece.
Kelly says
SEW ME!!!
I would say a 3. I fight getting the tension just right on just about every project. But I can sew a straight line:-).
Christy U. says
SEW ME! I’m about a 3 on a good day. :)
Danielle says
SEW ME! I am a one with high hopes for the future!
