***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Erin O. says

SEW ME!!!!!
I’m around a 7, I think? I rarely follow a pattern, I make clothes for my kids, have sewn all of our curtains, quilts, dolls, etc. I lurve to sew. I currently have my mom’s old 70’s Kenmore…and it is dying a slow death.
Jennifer H. says
Sew Me!!
I’d say I’m a self-taught 7, but I always buy plenty of extra material!
Lodi says
SEW ME!
I am about at the level of Sherry’s 3, but I plan to make it to at least a 7 or 8 though trial and error…

I am definitely a 1. Barely can sew on a button… machines scare me but I really want to learn!
AMii Hale says
SEW ME! I’m anywhere between a 2 and a 5…it just depends on the day- no training, but I’ve managed to wing my way through some costumes (including my current one- an elven dress made without a pattern) but my eyes are definitely attracted to patterns outside my current skill set!
Nicole says
SEW ME
I’m a 2. I can sew a straight line but that’s about it.

SEW ME!
When it come to skill level…I am probably a solid 5-6. I’m a “Singer” type gal…I’ve only had one in my life and it is now approaching 30 yrs old. So, I could stand one with a few bells and whistles…lol.
shana says
SEW ME! I’m a 1 or 2…but have dreams of being at least a 4 or 5!
Cait B says
SEW ME!
I have only recently started sewing, my mom is like a 15 on the sewing scale (she sewed my wedding dress…by hand!) I have taken a couple classes so I would rate myself a 2 but I have been drooling over that machine for months!
Susan says
SEW ME!
My sewing skills are in the negative…does that count? :)

i am a 3. I took a sewing class, but my machine is really really sad. I never ever win anything, but a girl can hope right?
Jen says
“SEW ME”
I love to sew but have not had as much time lately to sharpen up my skills. I would say I am a 6 or so.

Sew me! I am a sad 1, but has wanted to learn for ages!!!

Sew Me! I’ll call myself a 2. I can hand sew a button (that may fall off in a few days) or repair a seam rip (if the seam can’t really be seen). In middle school i sewed a bag and a pair of bóxer shorts, but that was long ago.
Caleb says
SEW ME! I would say a 0 but I know my wife would love this and would make me something cool!
Mindy says
where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? SEW ME! I’m a 3…more proficient with a sewing machine than a stapler (believe me it’s been tried!)…but it would be a wonky bag!
Nancy says
Sew Me! Definitely a solid 2 over here. Have you heard of the term “pedal to the medal”? Yeah…I don’t think it’s supposed to apply to sewing!

I am about a 3, maybe a 4. I did fix my friend’s sewing machine problem (it wasn’t threaded correctly)
But I’d love to get this sewing machine- I’m making a quilt for my daughter and want to do it without my mom’s help.
