***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I’m about a 3, too. I can make some great pillows… and that’s about it. :-P Ha ha.
Carrie M says
SEW ME! (Please :)
I’d like to imagine that I’m a 4 on the sewing scale, but I’m so out of practice I’m sure I’m much closer to a 2.
Kathy says
Probably a 5…I can read a pattern and have made quite a variety of things over the years, from Halloween costumes to window treatments…all on a machine I rcvd almost 40 yrs ago as a high school graduation gift from my parents!!
Patricia says

SEW ME!!
I’m probably a 3, like Sherry. When I was in high school, my mom helped me sew a few things. I even made a shirt (it was ugly… but I loved it!). I haven’t done much with it in years, but I figure it’s like riding a bike… right??
Tiffany says
SEW ME!!! I am a solid 2. I can sew a straight line and some other stuff IF someone threads the machine for me! :)
Erika says
SEW ME!!!! I’m probably a 4 on a 25+ year old sewing machine.
Thanks!

SEW ME!!
I have only sewn little “practice pieces” of fabric but I REALLY want to learn!!
Karen says
SEW ME! I’d call myself an 8 (when it comes to sewing, at least… ;) )
Jessie H. says
Definitely a 1! Which is shameful considering my grandmother made herself, my aunt, and my mom clothes their whole lives, including wedding dresses! Maybe if I win, she’ll send down some good sewing luck from heaven?
Karen M says
SEW ME! I’m a 3. This machine looks like it could help me raise my level of skills!!
YvonneM says
SEW ME!
I think I am about a 2.5, as I used to be able to sew, but I would have to relearn. I would love to try again on such a gorgeous machine.
Karen J says
SEW ME!
I am probably a solid 5. With this I could be a 10!
Johanna says

SEW ME!
Hmmm, I am a 0.5, but I sure would love to learn! I did take “sewing class” in middle school, I am sure it is like riding a bike and I’ll be making pillows in no time!
Lauren says
Sew Me!!
I’m a 1 but I want to learn so (or to sew) bad!!!
Audrey says
SEW ME!!!
I believe that I am more of a 7. Although, I’m just going off everything I learned in my high school sewing class, and pinterest tutorials-I make baby gifts as my stay-at-home business and I also recover pillows for extra money.
Leigh says
SEW ME! I have my mother in law’s 1950 portable sewing machine-it looks like a toy :), but I’m so thankful for it, and when that went :P, I borrowed my sister’s that my mother bought her from a yard sale BUT when my mom’s machine went :P, my sister took her’s back wonh wonh…..so this would be lovely!
Kathy says
Sew me! I am a 2. My few easy projects I have tackled all have some sort of errors in them….but I still love them!
Brooke says
Sew me! I think I’m a 5- I don’t do much, but one time I made a dress from a Vogue pattern. I sort of cling to that memory of the one time I made something awesome, probably not repeatable:)
Jenny Dabbs says
I’m a 2. I can hem some curtains and supervise larger projects. Projects that my mother takes on. I have aspirations of sewing pillows and cute outfits for my daughter.
Naomi S. says
Oh my gosh! My twin told me only last month how much it would mean to her to have a sewing machine! She’s a vet student, so she saves her pennies and mends old clothes by hand. A sewing machine would make it a lot easier on her AND would help her get her etsy shop started, she’s been saving ideas for a while now. She is definitely a level 1, so the simplest machine is definitely the way to go.
Erica says
SEW ME! My mom is awesome at sewing, and she taught me how a long time ago, but I was never great at it. However, I have been asking for a sewing machine for like 2 years now and haven’t gotten one. I would like to get better! I would say maybe I’m a 2, just because I haven’t touched one in a very long time!
Alicia says
Sew Me!!
I’m probably about a 4 or 5. I think part of that is my cheap sewing machine.
Jennifer says
SEW ME! I’m totally a 2!
Jan says
SEW ME!
Probably an 8. I’ve been sewing my clothes since I was 14. I still have my very first (and only) sewing machine.
Sarah says
SEW ME!
I’d have to rank a 5 or 6 I think :)
Jenny says
I’d say I’m a 3, I can follow instructions but I tend to make things up as I go. Sewing seems to be a lot of patience and ironing!
Kassy says
Sew me please! I don’t know how to sew at all and this would be a perfect way to learn.
Brenna says
SEW ME! I am definitely a work in progress 1.. but I think I could be a 4-5 with a little practice ;)
Suz says
SEW ME!!!
I’m probably a 4-5 on a scale of 1-10. The number might be a bit loaded with wishful thinking. lol
Thank you for this awesome giveaway!!!

SEW ME!
I would rate myself a 1. I haven’t sewed in years but would love to start again!
Shannon says
SEW ME!
I’m definitely around a 2… I’ve got some very basic core skills…with a thread and needle. But a machine? That’s a whole new ballgame
debbie says
Sew It! I”ve been sewing for forty-five years and my machine’s almost that old! My Mother gave me that Singer when I got married!
Jean says
SEW ME!
I’m probably a 4. I can sew straight lines, so I can manage curtains and square pillows and very simple skirts. Nothing fancy – no buttonholes or zippers yet. I love being able to use the same fabric in more than one place – matching curtains and skirt, anyone?
