***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

SEW ME!
I’m just now in home economics at school, so I’m probably just a 1 or 2. But I’m loving it and want to be able to learn alot more at home.
Briana says
SEW ME!
I am about a 5. I started in college on a old sewing machine my uncle found in the garbage. It worked and was perfect to learn on :)
Jen says
SEW ME!!! Can we venture into the negative numbers…?
Azure says
Probably a 4.5, I can make pillows and Halloween costumes, but nothing you would actually wear out of the house on a normal day.
Dana Moss says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m a 0. It’s so sad, I have my husband sew buttons on clothes where they’ve fallen off. I would love to have a sewing machine to start learning and so I can impress my hubby ;-) Thanks for the giveaway!

SEW ME!!!
What’s sewing?
Jessica M says
SEW ME! I’m probably at a 4 or 5. I love sewing but just need more practice!
Amanda says
Sew Me! I’m a solid 1 right now. But one of these days I’ll have the time and money to get a machine and teach myself, bringing me up to a solid 5. Happy Christmas!
Julie says
SEW ME!
I’m a 1 and probably barely that :) but have it on my list of things to do – take a class and learn.
Thank you!

I am a one, but buying a new house and envisioning lots of DIY projects!
Megan Atkinson says
SEW ME!
I’d say I’m a 5. I’m pretty good at designing my own patterns to cover things — like a grill. It’s the quality of the sewing itself that is lacking but that’s because I always have to borrow someone elses machine.
Anna Hughes says
SEW ME! I am probably a 2 or 3?
Carolyn says
SEW ME!!! I’m about a 3 or a 4. Need patterns, but know how to freestyle on easy things like panel curtains and pillows!
Sarah Gilliam says
SEW ME!! I’m a solid 1.5. But with the help of my very own machine, a cool 3.7 is in my near future!
Fiona says
Sew Me!!
I’m probably a 5, if Sherry making a wonky bag is a 3.
Betsy H. says
SEW ME! I rank myself around a 4 but I hope to improve. I bought the same Brother (inspired by Sherry and your curtains) and I have been whipping out baby blankets and bedsheets like nobody’s business!

SEW ME!
I’m a pretty good sewer. One of my favorite things to do is piece quilts, so I’d say I’m about an 8.
Michelle G. says
SEW ME!!!
I am a 2… with so much more potential if I could get my hands on one of these. Woot Woot!!!
Kristin says
SEW ME!!! I’m a 0. Would love a kick start to change that!
Danielle says
SEW ME :)
This would be for my husband and not me… I have 0 sewing skills (or patience).
Steph N says
SEW ME! Maybe a four? I’ve made some fairly complicated stuff before, but it’s been a while and I’m quite sure that any skills I had are super rusty.
Connie says
SEW ME!
I’m probably close to a 3 or 4. I’d try to sew more if my machine could handle upholstery fabric. I could use a new one.
Tanya says
SEW ME! I’m probably about a 7 or 8. I’ve recently started sewing again and am using the sewing machine my mom used to make my clothes when I was little (40+ years ago) so a new one, that does more than a straight stitch, would be great! Thanks so much for sponsoring this great giveaway!!
Elizabeth F says
SEW ME!
My grandmother taught me how to sew a pillow. Tah dah!
Melissa says
Sew me!
Rank myself? Probably a 3 or 4. If it’s a straight line and nothing crazy, it won’t look too bad…
Kim says
SEW ME….I’m a 1 for sure but learning would be “sew” much easier on a fancy machine like this!!!!
Sarah says
SEW ME!
I’m around a 3. I lucked out with a mom and sister who loved to sew, therefore they sewed everything I needed, Halloween costumes, purses, and doll clothes galore. My mom’s machine, which she has used for about 20 years, finally broke down :( this machine would be an excellent replacement!
Ashley says
SEW ME!!!
My sewing skills are definitely a 0, but I really want to at least learn the basics.
jessicae says
Sew me! A total newbie.
Jackie says
SEW ME! i think i’m maybe a solid 6?
Erika says
Sew me!
I think I’m a 7 now. I can sew cushion covers with a zipper! But I do want to reach a 10 LOL
Ashley Watson says
SEW ME! i would say i am a two. i think i could potentially have skills :)
Amanda says
Sew me! I can sew on a button … and that’s pretty much it. I really want to learn though! This machine would be the kick in the pants I need! Thanks for the chance!
Natalia says
Sew me! I’m about a .5. I could maybe thread the needle. Do you even do that on a sewing machine????? But I SEW want to learn!!!!!!
Jess F. says
SEW ME!
Having a mother who works in the fashion industry, I’ve been sewing my whole life. But there’s always room to learn more!
Sarha says
SEW ME!
I love driving but I’m doing better with the pedal of a sewing machine than a car. I’d say 4-5ish.
Angie Emerline says
SEW ME! I rate myself a 4 in sewing skills but I am trying to improve! I have a 12 daughter and we are both trying to learn to sew.
Tracey says
SEW ME! I would say I am about a Sherry-3ish. I could make a pillow or some plain curtains for myself, but I would be embarrassed if anyone looked too closely! Thanks for the chance to win!
Nissa says
SEW ME! I’m definitely a 1 — but I’d love to learn! I have visions of making little toddler dresses and bunting for my daughter’s room…
Heather says
SEW ME!
I’m a 7 or 8. I love to sew! There’s nothing like handmade.
Kirbee says
Sew Me!
I’d call myself a three or maybe a four. I’d like to be a four :D I’ve sewn pillows, aprons, toys and a few kids clothes. I guess that would make me a three. Sigh. Someday I’ll be a four.
Also, my sewing machine is the coolest old fellow ever. I call him Hobart (think Iron Giant in all respects). He’s a circa 1950s Montgomery Ward brute that I paid $15 for. My husband loves it because it’s built like a little tractor, which meant he actually stripped down and rewired it for me (why it was only $15).
Sue J. says
I do wonky!
Lindsey H. says
SEW ME! I’d rank myself a 0. I want to learn though!
Ashley says
SEW ME!
Mehh…I got a B on my middle school home ec project so that puts me at at least a 4 right?
Corinne Castro says
Sew Me! I’m a 3. I think I understand how it works, but haven’t made anything complicated.
Shana says
SEW ME!! I learned some skills in junior high, but that was so long ago I wouldn’t know where to start. So this would give me the excuse to learn again.
Lisa C Johnson says
SEW ME! I am probably a 4, maybe a 5, on the sewing skill level but I would love to progress. Hopefully with this beautiful machine! Thanks so much for the chance to win!
Kelli says
SEW ME!
I guess I’m about a 3. I can thread the needle, wind a bobbin, and sew super simple lines (not straight lines!). I would like to learn more about different stitches. I always go w/ a “more is better” approach. I will sew over something repeatedly, probably way more than necessary, b/c I have no idea what is actually necessary to hold!
becca S says
SEW ME! I am probably a 3….can sew enough to get by but not enougg to be really cool and crafty and quick!
nancie says
SEW ME!!!
i’m definitely a 1, or more like a -1…but honestly i haven’t tried sewing on a cool new machine like this – the machines i’ve used have been ancient..and hard to figure out!
