***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

SEW ME! I sewed a lot when I was younger but have gotten away from it because it takes up a lot of room. I dream of about having a craft/sewing room someday…….
Kaydee says
Sew me! I’m a 3… maybe.
Carrie says
Sew me!!! I can hand stitch buttons back on or adequately re-sew an open seam on a stuffed animal, but that is about it.
Nicole says
SEW ME!
I’m at about a 4… I do okay on basic stuff, but I would really like to take a lesson or two to learn how to do things the “proper” way.
Rachel says
Sew Me! I’m a 4. I could sew a bag, it would probably hold things, you just might not want to be seen with it.
Lisa says
SEW ME!
My mom taught me to sew in the 8th grade. In high school and college, I was a 7. I’m probably a 5 now. :)
Cheryl L. says
SEW ME…..ha, ha….I guess I will say a 1+…maybe a 2…???….hard to say…I could do some things with a machine….mostly straight line stuff…ha, ha….but that gets you a lot, right? :)
stacy says
SEW ME! In my head, all sewing projects will be 10s!! However, it is usually a “whomp whomp” when the project is done and it is a “1”.
V. Sanders says
SEW ME!!
I would say I am a 3 but I am always wanting to improve!
Lynne W. says
SEW ME! I think I’m about an 8 — but I might be better if I had a better sewing machine. When I started sewing my daughters, I used an old black singer that just had forward and reverse. I’ve since moved up to a slightly more modern machine that has a few extra features, but I would love to try sewing on a machine like the one you’re giving away!

Nina R. says
SEW ME!
I think I’m a 2. I know how to thread the needle and push the pedal. That deserves a 2, right?
Sandra says
SEW ME!!!! (PLEASE)
Ugh I get so ambitious and think, oh I can do that so I must be around a 7-8. Then I get home with my new material and realize silly girl, you are only a 3 now where is the wine…
jill says
sew me!!!! i am a zero, but would love to someday be a 5 :) thanks!
Megan O says
Sew me! I’m probably a 6 or so. If i had more free time I’m sure I’d get better!
Callie Burgess says
SEW ME!
I thinking I am a 2. I can sew many things…but they are not always perfect!
Katie says
SEW ME! A 3 — I borrowed my mom’s sewing machine to take a sewing class with a friend a few years back and came home and was so proud of the tote bag I had made — until my friend pointed out that I’d sewed the straps on across the opening instead of to the same side as each other…
Jillian says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m about a 3, I can do basic projects usually if they just have straight lines. My mother in law was sweet and gave me her old machine but it could totally be updated since I think she got it when she was in her 20 or 30’s, lol.
Kelly Donovan says
SEW ME!!!!!
I would consider myself a 3 I guess. I just ventured into the world of sewing about 1.5 years ago. I find it incredibly frustrating and exhilarating at the same time! And this machine is waaaaaayy cooler than my $79 Walmart special. I could become a 5 with this baby!
Jennifer Cary Diers says
SEW ME!
I’m definitely in the “wonky bag” stage, at least with a machine. I can hand-sew but that’s pretty limiting. Learning to use a machine would open up so many options!
Lisa says
SEW ME, PLEASE!
I would rate my sewing skills at a rusty 2 or 3 but always imagine myself getting much better someday…
B. Sanders says
SEW ME!
I do not sew so I guess a 1 but my wife sews:)
kristi says
SEW ME!
i would say i’m probably a 4. i have made a few quilts and dresses, but nothing too fancy or complicated! :)
been enjoying y’alls blog, you’re all adorable!
Carrie says
SEW ME!
I used to be a 5, but it’s been so long since I’ve sewn, I’m probably down to a 2.
Nicky says
SEW ME!
I think I’m probably a 3, but I’ve not used a sewing machine since school (when I was a good 6) It’s like riding a bike right?!
Katie says
SEW ME!
I’d say I’m a 3. Within the last few months I’ve started teaching myself to sew. I’ve got a 70’s model sewing machine I found on Craigslist. It works, but I would LOVE a new Singer to develop my sewing skills! :)
Jessica muir says
SEW ME! I am a 1 for sure. I would love to win this and become more crafty like you guys!
jaclyn says
SEW ME! I’m an 8 but striving for a 10!
Nycole says
“SEW ME!”
Not a good sewer at all, which is sad mecaus emy grandmother was a wonderful dressmaker, and at 5′ I need to hem almost everything.
Tracie says
SEW ME!
I’m a solid 5! Lots of room for improvement! :)
Heather Bailey says
SEW ME!
Probably a 4… so not bad. :)
Liz says
SEW Me!
I’m probably a 6 on your scale. I sewed a slipcover for an armchair once. Also a bridesmaid dress with an invisible zipper. But my machine is my mom’s from the 70’s and I fight with it every time!
Alison Pita says
Sew me! I recently taught myself the basics from YouTube videos.
Katy says
Sew me…I’m a newbie never used one but would love to learn!
Leslie says
Sew me!
I’d say 5-6. I can follow a pattern and make various things. But, it’s not as if I’m whipping up my own creations.
Tina says
SEW ME!
On a scale of 1-10, I’m probably a 4. I’ve done my fair share of quilting and project sewing, but it’s all beginner stuff.
Kristina L says
SEW ME! 1. I can’t really even sew a button on a shirt very well. That said, my mother is closer to a ten when it comes to sewing, so maybe there is some natural talent hidden in me somewhere. Or not. I guess we’ll see. :)
Shelley says
SEW ME! I’m a 1–definitely learning by trial and error.
Jacqulyn & Denny says
SEW ME!!
Not a bit! Hopefully this will help. :-)
Roxanne says
Sew Me! Maybe a 4? I have high hopes and big dreams of actually finishing garments for myself, but after 10+ years of on-again, off-again sewing, I only have have completed projects and a few home accessories under my belt. I think an easy-to-use machine will be just the boost I need!
Megan L says
SEW ME!
I am about a 2 but my enthusiasm is a 10!!!
Stefanie says
SEW ME!
Where would you rank a swirling vortex that sucks everything into a black hole of broken sewing needles and piles of unhemmed pants? Purely hypothetical, of course.
Patty says
SEW ME! I’d rate myself a 2, definitely have a lot to learn!
becca says
sew me. maybe a 4? I’ve done some easy curtains and quilts, but not clothes.
ariana M says
“SEW ME!” I am a “2” … I can sew simple things WITH a pattern, but don’t usually have the patience to follow all the directions or take the time to do the little things (you know, like when they say “iron this or that first” or “pin XYZ”… I’ll just “eyeball” it half the time… OK for doll clothes, not so okay for most other projects!
Roland says
SEW ME!
A solid 2.5. A really wonky bag that may or may not be sewn to the back of my hand.
Kim says
SEW ME!! I am probably an 8 that used to be a 10!! I have a very special person in my life that would love it. She could be a 10 if she had it!!!
Kristina says
Sew me!
I can sew on a button, but that’s about it!
April Lopez says
SEW ME! I’m about an 8 or 9. Started sewing in kindergarten. Took apart my first sewing machine to clean it at 7.
Pam says
Sew me! Maybe a 2-3. Hoping to get a new sewing machine for Christmas!
