***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Sew me!
I’m a solid 2, but I’d be sharing this machine with my brother who lives close. He’s a 6 or 7.
Jacinthe says
SEW ME!
I’m a 1. Perhaps even 0. I really need this machine! :)
Kari says
SEW ME!
I’d say at one point I WAS a 3. And then I haven’t touched a machine in 6 years…
Hayden says
SEW ME!
I am probably a 2, but I would love to get better. This sewing machine could definitely help!
Pam says
Probably a 3, though it’s been a looooong time.
Natalie S says
Sew Me! I’m a 2 – needle and thread sewing only!
shannon says
SEW ME!
i’m pretty low on that scale, but have aspirations to improve!
Allison Brown says
SEW ME! I would say I’m a 3 or 4. And a little rusty but hoping to change that!
Vicki says
SEW ME!
My friend and I have been working on Hero Quilts for our soldiers – a new machine would really help us out!
Melinda says
Sew me!
An 8. I love to use a sewing machine. I’ve made pillows, quilts, curtains, upholstered chair cushions, clothes, and even little fabric “crud strainers” for my rain barrels.
Elizabeth says
SEW ME!!!!
I’m probably a 2, took sewing classes as a young teenager but I haven’t touched a sewing project in years! I would love to make some new curtains for my new house, and maybe a dog bed cover for the dog :)
Abby says
Sew Me! I agree with Sherry… I am at a 3
Jenna says
Sew Me!
I am a beginner but desperately want to dive in! This would be just the start–usually, having a sewing machine makes learning how to sew easier. ;)
Jolene says
SEW ME!
I’d rank myself a 1. I can barely hand-sew a button.
Lou says
SEW ME! I am maybe a 4, if I’m feeling generous.
Denise Cash says
SEW ME! Around a 3. It’s been a while since I’ve sewn and I miss it. I’d love to make some of those wonderful crafts I’ve pinned on Pinterest!!
Sara says
Sew me!!! I’m pretty low on the sewing scale – but I’m learning. Little did I know that my first learning project should not be stockings for the family….way too many curves and what seemed simple turned into a much more complicated drawn out project!
Angela says
SEW ME!
I am about a 1! I know, I know. But I would love to be able to make simple things and hem my own pants.
Emily says
SEW ME!
If I had to guess, I’d be a 3.5 or 4. Last time I tried my hand at a sewing machine I was 12, so its anyone’s guess.
Melissa Hunt says
SEW ME!!!
I would be around 2 I think. I can sew but can’t do anything super fancy.
Meagan says
Sew me, please!
My skills or lack there of would definitely rank me a 1 but I’d love to learn how!

SEW ME!
I’m somewhere in the middle as far as sewing skills go. I made simple quilts for my nieces and nephews for christmas and have dabbled in pot holders and christmas ornaments. But, I want to get better and try new things!
Damia says
SEW ME!
I’m probably about a 6. Things generally turn out how I anticipated, but I have yet to venture into very challenging clothes… Of course, with a new machine, I could do ~anything~!!! :)
Junia says
SEW ME!
I am a 0. :-(
Kristin Friesen says
SEW ME!
Probably a 2 or 3. I have done some sewing as a kid but I’m definitely rusty. Been wanting to get back into it!
Cara says
Sew ME! I would say I am a 4. I’ve made curtains, welt cord, dog clothes, costumes, but nothing that has to be too perfect to look good.
Kelly says
SEW ME! My mom is an avid quilter and is definitely a 10, but with all the sewing and quilting classes she had me take as a kid, I’m probably a solid four. Been itching lately to get back into it and this would be the perfect way!
Allison Cunningham says
SEW ME! I am probably a 2, but wishing I was a 10.
Tamani says
SEW ME!
I’m about a 4. I’ve made straight things like quilts and pillows and duvet covers, but not curvy, pleaty things like clothes and curtains.
Rebecca says
SEW ME!!! I am most certainly a 1 but dream of becoming a 10…broken sewing machine isn’t helping my case. :-)
Heather says
SEW ME! I come from a long line of 10s, but I’m shamefully closer to a 1. I’d probably pick it up if I had such a lovely machine!
caragh says
SEW ME!
I was a 3 at one point, but considering I haven’t turned on a machine in a couple years and have only (crookedly) hand sewn things, I’m probably demoted to a 1.5!
Caley says
SEW ME! I am probably a 1 but would like to rise in rank!
April Shaikh says
SEW ME!
I’m pretty sure I’d rank about a 3 also… but it’s hard to tell since I haven’t sewn anything since junior high home ec. This would give me the opportunity to get started with something I’ve been dying to do!
Karolina says
SEW ME!
I’m a 1. Maybe a 2 pn a gpod day… But my future Mom in law is definetly a 10! She made me a suit and a smashing red silk blouse! :) and now I would love her sew some stuff for our wedding…. Maybe on a fabulous Singer One ;)
Greetings from the Netherlands!
Daniel says
SEW ME!
I’m a 1, but my wife would love to win this!
Connie Kennedy says
SEW ME please….I have sewn all my life on simple sewing machines and this Singer looks ultra modern and easy. I have daughters to teach and will share this machine with them.
Britt @ Honest to Goodness Living says
SEW ME! And sewing is definitely not my forte… but can sew a MEAN straight line for the means of pillows, curtains, or even a swag infinity scarf :)
Eszter says
SEW ME!!
I consider myself a 5! Inherited my talent and the foot pedal of an old Singer sewing machine from my grandmother, but I am in desperate need of a modern Singer machine… Thanks for the chance to win this and have a nice day!
Alex Pieschel says
SEW ME! I might be in the negatives, but let’s round up to a 1. I have never really sewed before, but now having little ones, I would love to get in the groove!!
Betsy says
I’m a 3 and one day I’ll be a 4! I just have to CONCENTRATE!
It would be fun to practice on a nice machine!
Natasha says
SEW ME!!!
I’m probably a 6. I love to sew and do a lot of it by hand but I am desperate for a machine of my ow. Oh the things I could make… :) Love your blog
Reina says
Sew Me! I think I’m right around a 3. I made a pillow recently and it was actually square! But it’s on my current goal list to improve my skills, a new machine would definitely help me on my way!
Erin says
SEW ME!
I’m about a 4 when it comes to my sewing skills. I made 12 sleep mats last year for my nieces. The first mat was hard, but it kept getting easier and easier. This year I’m making aprons!
Kristen says
SEW ME…definitely a 1, but would love to learn!
Kelley says
SEW ME!
I would rate myself a 1, because I know what a sewing machine is. And that’s step one, right?
Casey says
SEW ME!
I’d say I’m a 2….
I bought a bunch of fabric to make curtains with a borrowed sewing machine but then the owner asked for it back and I never got to finish them!! :( it’d be nice to do that….
Ellen says
SEW ME!
I think I am a beginner. Now I have sewed some curtains and even used some of my newbie skill to assist in covering a slipper chair but more then that I am lost.
Sarah K. says
SEW ME!!!
Definitely a one, but I want to learn!
Anna says
SEW ME! I’m probably a 3 with a machine, and a 4 at sewing by hand.
