***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I beg of you to please SEW ME!
My grandmother is a seamstress, my mother the same. Out of 3 girls I’m the only one who picked up the craft, however due to my machine breaking 4 years ago and my student loans taking a toll on my financial well-being, I haven’t been able to sew anything in my new home.
I wouldn’t say I’m a whiz with a sewing machine, but I have a solid understanding of it and miss it dearly! So many gifts to also sew!

I totally forgot to leave my number in the first comment! I would say I’m a 6 or 7!

Barbara Shoemaker says

I’m definitely a 1, the last time I used a sewing machine was at university in my costume design class. I passed, but barely :S
We are currently trying for a baby and I’d love to be able to sew things for it!
Katie says
SEW ME! I’m somewhere between 7-8, I did sew my wedding dress, but it was hardly with my eyes closed!
Crystal says
SEW ME!! I am a 1. I can sew on a button and hand stitch a little, but have never used a sewing machine. I’ve been wanting to learn for a while now, and this is a great opportunity to start!
Harmony Quiroz says
SEW ME! I’m definitely around a 3 – I’ve made the basics but could use a LOT more practice!

Sew Me! I’d say I’m a .5. I’ve tried once on a friend’s machine and didn’t get very far. But I see all these ‘easy sew’ patterns on Pinterest and get hopeful of the possibility…
Krys72599 says
OH, OH, OH – I’m most definitely in Sherry’s league – I can sew an almost-straight line although hem tape is my first choice, if it’s possible… I would LOVE a sewing machine – I want so very much to take up quilting when I retire and hubby is retiring in June. I will be reminding him of our deal (which actually made it into our wedding video!): when he retires, I retire!!!
Kamille says
SEW ME! If Sherry is a 3, then I *might* be a 4. I can sew a bag or a pillow cover with a zipper, have even sewn a few patchwork quilts. But this puppy would make sewing much more enjoyable than my old $100 Brother from Wally World.
Sabrina says
Sew Me! I am a 2 but maybe more of a 1 because I haven’t figured out how to thread my machine lol
Patti says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m a 5 or 6. I started sewing this summer and now I’m making custom bags for friends and co-workers. I haven’t really made anything other than bags. I made a Luau dress for work once, but it was definitely an easy pattern. You can view more of my projects at my website – http://www.littlekujodesigns.com/category/portfolio/
Thanks!

SEW ME!
I am probably a 5. I mostly stick to pillows and curtains, but I have also sewn princess dresses for my daughter (great tutorials at Make It and Love It), some childrens clothing, and nap mats for both of my daughters.
Kate says
SEW ME!!
My husband is a professional sewer (I never know what to use for the male version of “seamstress.” He produces sewn goods for our etsy shop, but unfortunately, he is forced to use my high school sewing machine that probably cost all of $50. So a new sewing machine like this would be AMAZING! (BTW, he’s definitely a 10! ;))
Emily Shields says
SEW ME!!!
I’m a zero but have been thinking about trying to learn!
Jessica says
Sew me! I’m definitely about a 1. But now that I have a little girl, I really should learn how to make all of those cute little baby dresses I keep spending money on!

SEW ME!!! I’m probably a 5…I’ve done some dresses and skirts for the kids and myself. Plus one Christmas I made a stuffed animal that my daughter had first drawn on paper. Everything isn’t perfect, but I usually make it work!
