***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I’m a solid 3. I’ve sewn a few things successfully, but I’m no expert. I’d like to be one though! :)
Katie says
SEW ME!
1 – I’m all about the hemming tape, so this would be a huge step up!

See me!
I’m probably a 5. It has been years since I have used a sewing machine however now that I have a 9 month old son I’ve been wanting to get a sewing machine! Oh I would love love love to have this to get me going!
Erin K. says

I’m a totally beginner but I would love to learn. Especially on such a nice machine!

SEW ME!
Please! I could so so so use a new sewing machine. I bought my current one used almost 10 years ago. It gets the job done, but I drool over fancy ones like the one you’re giving away. My ranking is probably a 6ish. I’m pretty good at winging it with making things but I’m self taught so I don’t know any of the lingo, I can’t follow a pattern (other than the ones in my head!) and there are probably features on my current old machine that I don’t even know exist. I’m not a ‘fancy’ sewer. I’m a ‘think it up and get’er done’ sewer. I’ve made toy bins for my kids, costumes, cloth napkins, simple dresses, quilts, stockings, and more. I would love to turn fancy with a new machine! Pick me, pick me!!! :)

SEW ME! I am unfortunately a 1, even the boy who sat next to me in high school home economics had to help me with those stupid boxer shorts. The thing is though I would like to be a 10 and I could see myself getting into it. I almost purchased a sewing machine but it would be awesome to win one!
Felicia says

anna says
SEW ME! Definitely a 1. Tried to sew curtains on my mom’s machine and could barely get it threaded. This sounds like the perfect machine to help me out!
kat.s. says
SEW ME! i’d say i’m a 2. i’m currently using my grandma’s 1980’s sewing machine. although the sentimental value is great, i’d sew more if i had an easier to use sewing machine.
Joan Brown says
SEW ME! I’d say I’m a 6 or 7, my favorite thing to sew being baby blankets/quilts. I’d totally make one for Clara! (Not bribery…promise!) ;-)

Shiri says
SEW ME!
I’m maybe a 3 or 4. I have a crappy old machine and after following your idea with weekly photos on fun fabrics for my baby, I’m taking a quilting class in the next couple of months to try and make something that could pass for a 5. :)

SEW ME!
I’m definitely a 0. I don’t even know how to hand-sew a button (yeah, it’s terrible). But it’s one of those things that I’d love to learn so that I can expand my DIY arsenal, so bring it on!
Dani says
SEW ME!
My sewing skills aren’t terrible–I’m probably a 2 or 3, but with this new machine I can imagine my skills raising a little higher :)
Sarah says
SEW ME!
I’d say I’m around a 2.5. My mother is an amazing seamstress and taught me when I was younger but now I finally have a place of my own to decorate so am getting back into it!
Courtney says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m maybe a 3 – 4. I can sew in a straight line (most of the time) and piece together quilts. My sewing machine just broke, so this giveaway is perfect timing!
Shannon says
SEW ME!
I’m somewhere in the 5-6 range. I can hem up some jeans and have them look professional, but I have yet to tackle a full blown clothing pattern yet.
Eileen says
