***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Sew Me!
Lol at passionate muttering. I speak load forceful words at that machine while knowing it isn’t the machine’s fault, it’s the user. I am a definite 1. Someday I hope to graduate to Sherry level.
Kate H says
SEW ME!!!! I can sew my own veil and a bridesmaid’s dress… but poorly. I’d say 5? WOHOO!!!
Ben says
SEW ME!
Probably a 2
Kristin says
SEW ME! Ahhh, my sewing machine crapped out on me and I have not been able to figure out what is wrong with it. It’s not worth having it repaired (it’s not a really nice one or anything), so I would LOVE to win this. Impeccable timing.
I would say I’m middle of the road. I took two sewing classes in HS (best teacher ever) and am decent, but I definitely can’t do anything too fancy. I have been wanting to make a few things for my baby’s nursery but alas. Here’s to hoping! :)
HeatherM says
SEW ME!!! I’m about a 3, just like Sherry. BTW, this sewing machine is amazing because it has room on the left side of the foot. I’ve never seen anything like it, but it was CLEARLY designed with left-handers like me in mind :)
Whitney says
SEW ME!
Definitely a 1 (or 0 haha) but want to learn! :)
Mary Grace says
SEW ME! I am definitely low on the scale of sewing savvy – maybe a “3”. I am already dreaming up the projects I could put together if I won this fabulous give away. There are visions of all my grade 9 home-ec sewing skills coming back to me.
Jessica says
SEW ME!
I am definitely a 1. I usually have my mom or mother in law sew for me, but I have made a few doll blankets with some help.
Kelli says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m about a 5! I loved sewing growing up but haven’t done it in years because I don’t have a machine and just do everything free hand, which takes forever.
Erin says
SEW ME!
I’m a definite 1. I hot glue bottons back onto shirts if they fall off. I have no sewing abilities!
Raven says
SEW ME!
Nikki says
SEW ME!! I would say I’m I six…I have made a few skirts in my day.
KatieVK says
Sew me!
I’ll go with a 3. I’m good with not-fancy curtains and related items. Anything more than that…eh….
Erin says
SEW ME! I’d say I’m somewhere around a 4 or 5, but I would really love to learn to do some fancier stuff.
Alissa says
Sew me!
I’d say I’m a 3, like Sherry. I’ve done a few projects, but there’s a lot of fear and aggravation involved!

SEW ME!!
I would absolutely love a new sewing machine. I love to sew clothes, curtains, pillows, everything. Unfortunately, my machine broke this summer and we don’t have the funds to get it fixed. My husband and I aren’t giving Christmas gifts to each other this year because of the financial crunch we are in– this would be so great to get just in time for Christmas!!
Ashley S says
Sew me! I’m probably at a 1. I could probably find the “on” switch, and MAYBE thread the needle. But that’s about it. It would be nice to learn.
Megan says
Sew Me!!!! I love this machine.
Heather says
SEW ME!
I’d saw I’m a 3 or 4 on the sewing skill range. I know enough to do simple things like hem drapes, make pillow covers, etc., but beyond that I need to search the online discussion boards for pointers!
Crystal says
“SEW ME!” I’m about a 3 as well. My last attempt at pillow covers was much better than my previous attempt which produced a couple shaped like trapezoids.
Kristen says
SEW ME! I am definitely a novice when it comes to sewing. But maybe a shiny new sewing machine is just what I need to change that!
The Girl @ POS says
SEW ME! This would make the perfect Xmas gift for my boyfriend. My mother decided that since I was not interested in learning to sew, she would teach him. With three daughters and no sons, we now call him the “daughter-in-law she never had.” He is thrilled with this moniker (sarcasm font). But he is a manly man who still wants a sewing machine!
Paige says
SEW ME!! I would say I am a 7…but a new machine would definitely bump me up a notch or two ;)
Alissa says
Sew Me!! I love to sew and am pretty OK, I would put myself at a 7.
What a great giveaway!!
Shannon says
SEW ME
I love to sew! I’m maybe around an 8, but would love to do more.
Katy Coker says
SEW ME!!
I’m about a 3. Still learning but hoping to get better!
anna says
SEW ME! I’d say I’m on Sherry’s level. I can knock out a few things, but I am no master! Although I should be, my Grandmother was a pro :)
Megan says
Sew me!!
marilyn says
SEW ME!
Maybe a 2, not so bad for only having done one project, right?
Abbe says
SEW ME! I’m probably a -2 on the sewing scale… even iron-on hemming tape scares me. But I want to learn, and this would sure help! :)
Tiffany says
SEW ME! 1 for sure. I hand stitch everything, would love to try an actual sewing machine!
Atiyya says
Sew me, I’m inspired by Sherry.
Amanda says
I love sewing by hand, but have gotten to the point in my projects where a machine would help tremendously! I’ve never had one before (outside of home ec in 7th grade… embarrassing!) so I’m probably a zero with the machine. But this one sounds amazing for a first-timer!
Celisa Lehew says
SEW ME! I am a beginner and asked for sewing machine for Christmas. I live to DIY and would like to learn to make my own curtains, pillows and such.
Holly says
SEW ME!!
I would probably be around a 7. Can’t sew blindfolded, but did grow up making a lot of my own clothes.
Paula says
SEW ME!!! I’m about a two but would love to be a ten someday!
Jules says
SEW ME :)
I would have to rate myself about a 3? I have made two baby quilts but definitely with a lot of supervision from my Mum. I love it and just need to make more time for it, or have my own machine so I can sew at my house too!
Kristy says
Sew me! Probably a 2.
Katherine says
SEW ME!
I’ll go with a 1. When I was younger (around age 8 or 9), I once sewed a pillow for my American Girl doll. That counts, right?! (even though it was 20 years ago)
Mikayla says
SEW ME!
About a 2- can sew a straight line!
Lauren says
SEW ME! I’d have to say 1, having never used a sewing machine (I do everything by hand at this point, not that I’m any good with them.)
erin says
SEW ME!
I’d say I am about a 4. I can sew a straight line, make some drapes and pillos, but nothing super fancy. Maybe I will be a 6 once I win this sewig machine:)
Tasha Ruck says
SEW ME!!!! I think I’d be a 2/10. I bought my first sewing machine for myself on my 21st birthday, lent it to a family member and never saw it again :( Would so appreciate this! Thanks!
Yvonne says
SEW ME
1 for sure, but would love to learn
Ashley C. says
SEW ME!
I should be a 10 on the sewing scale, but I’m still just a 2 or 3. I don’t know how many times my grandmother has tried to teach me!
Isabel says
SEW ME!
Maybe a 5… But willing to improve with this prize!!
Abby says
I’m probably about a 7. I could maybe be high if I didn’t insist on taking so many short cuts. But really, who likes hand sewing?
Ellen S says
SEW ME!!!
Currently I am a 3, but at one time a 7 so maybe there is hope!
Sarah says
Sew me! I guess I would rate myself an 7-8 at sewing. I could definitely make a nice bag, but probably not blindfolded. :)
Michele says
Sew me! I’m probably a 5. I started quilting five years ago, but there’s still a lot to learn.
