***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!
I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?
- PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

“SEW ME!”
I use to sew when I was a kid and loved it. I would love to get back into again and have always said I would start with a quilt for my first child. No baby bump yet but I am itching to sew something.
Amy says
Sew Me! I actually would put myself at a 5 or a 6 on the sewing continuum.
Abby says
SEW ME!!
I’m probably a good 5. I made all of the curtains in our house and some pillow covers. Anyone who looks closely at my work might just give me a 4, but maybe a new machine could help that! :-)
Rachel says
SEW ME!!
I cannot sew at all, but have been wanting to learn and have been looking into purchasing one!
Hillary says
SEW ME! I’d say I am about a 4….completely self-taught, with many speedbumps along the way, but I’ve faked my way through some decent pieces!
AmandaT says
SEW ME!!
Oh dear, I’m a relative noob, so 2. I made a very wonky aviator hat I wore in public once (it was a Con, don’t judge me), but a girl can dream!!
Regina says
SEW ME!
I’M AN 8 OR 9 WHAT CAN I SAY I LIKE TO SEW.
Alexandra says

My sewing skills could really need a Singer machine!
Vincent says
SEW ME!!!!!
Meghan says
SEW ME!
I am most definitely a 1, but I don’t want to be forever. I need help!
Barbara O'Neill says
SEW ME!!
I consider myself a solid 2. I know how to thread the needle which I believe is half the battle!
Amandelin says
SEW ME!
I’m a novice who desperately wants to be an expert, but it’s intimidating.
Barbara says
SEW ME!
I think I’m somewhere between a 3 and a 4, but improving my skills would be a lot easier with this cutie!
Stephanie says
SEW Me! I’m around a 4 or 5, getting better!
Brooke says
SEW ME!
I’m probably about a 6 on the sewing scale. I did make a jedi robe for my son this past Halloween – all without a pattern. It’s something I am pretty proud of.
Vincent says
SEW ME!…
Amanda says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m about a 2. I know how to follow a pattern, and I can do some easy sewing by hand, but I’ve only used a sewing machine about 3 times in my life. I could use some practice!

SEW ME!!!
I’m a 1, tried my hand at making my daughter halloween costume last year. Needless to say i purchased one this year.
Jill says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m a “2” on the sewing scale, with “10” dreams! Love this prize!
Katherine says
SEW ME! I am about a 2 but would love to improve!
Debora says
Sew me! I am a 1 when it comes
to machine sewing; maybe a 1.5
with hand-sewing!
Clare M says
SEW ME!
I’m with Sherry…maybe even worse.
Erin K. says
SEW ME. A 3- I do blame my skills on my ancient machine- may be a 5 if I had a better one!!
Brenda says
SEW ME…. I would rank as a 6. Would love to win the sewing machine!!! Thanks for the opportunity.
Vincent says

Alexandra says
SEW ME!
My sewing skills could really need a Singer machine.
Anna says
SEW ME!!!! I am a total novice when it comes to sewing, but I’m dying to learn! I am short and have to have almost all of my pants hemmed and it would be so handy to be able to do it myself. Not to mention, I wouldn’t have to use iron on hemming tape for all the window treatments and such in the house!
Jenny says
SEW ME!
Can you be a negative number? If so, that’s me!! And a sewing machine has on previous occasions even been know to magacially fly across the room – maybe it was pixie dust??? Now my mother was off the charts when it came to sewing ~ too bad I didn’t get any of her talent ~ but I would love to learn with something that claims to be so easy!!!
Liz says
SEW ME!
I’m probably a 2 but dying to get better and don’t currently have a sewing machine so this would be perfect!
Ashleigh Goldberg says
SEW ME!!! I’m a super novice but would love to learn to sew pillow coverings or even a simple hem.
Shaundra Coleman says
SEW ME! I would say I am a negative one as far as sewing skills. I would love to learn!!
Amanda says
Sew me!
I would say I am about a 4.. I could use a lot more practice.. and having a super machine like this would be fantastic! Thanks!
Vincent says
SEW ME!!..

SEW ME!! I’m just learning to sew and could use a good machine like this.
Jodie says

I rate myself a 4… and that’s after a year of practicing! My kids wear some ‘experimental’ clothing!

“SEW ME!
I am a 10! Lucky me. Grew up with a needle in my hand. By the way, Sherry, you are doing GREAT! I am very impressed with your skill, and spirit. Keep going, invest in many seam rippers, and remember to teach Clara as she gets older. Everyone needs to know how to sew, at least the basics. John, you need to watch your wife and sew your own buttons on. If you can make the great wood projects you do, you can learn to sew.
I would love to win this machine for my daughter.
Amanda says
Sew me! A 2.
Ms. Adams says
SEW ME!
If I can repair a hole in a shirt, I think that rates me above a 1, right ;)
Sarah says
SEW ME!
I’m pretty good with a machine, probably a 5. But I sew on my great-grandmother’s machine and that thing is getting RICKETY! I’d love a new machine so I can retire that one.
Robin says
SEW ME! Is a zero possible, a -3? At any rate, I can barely sew a button, but I have dreams of making a quilt one day. And I have a feeling this sewing machine would make that day come sooner.
Alexandra says
SEW ME!
My sewing skills could really need a Singer machine…
Jana H says
SEW ME!
I am definitely no higher than a two or three and that is AFTER I took a sewing class twice a month for a year! I maybe the only person who could fail sewing class! All the other ladies whipped out several of whatever we had been working on during the week and I was lucky if I finished the original project! But maybe this machine would help…….

E.D. Rambo says
Sew me! I am probably a 2, I can sew straight lines and a few less curvy ones, but that is about it!
Michelle says
SEW ME!
I would say I’m a 3. My mom and grandma tried very hard to instill sewing skills in me at a young age, but I am such a perfectionist, I got frustrated very easily when my lines weren’t perfectly straight, etc. I could probably sew anything that is just square if it were an emergency :o)
Ashley J says
SEW ME!
I’m a big fat 0! Haha. I’ve been looking more seriously into getting a sewing machine this year though. I’d like to start making some more clothes for myself.
Katie P. says
SEW ME! I am going to sign up for sewing classes and this would be WONDERFUL. I used to be able to sew when I was younger, but have lost all my skills.
danielle o says
SEW ME!
I’m definitely a 1, which is embarrassing when compared to my mom who is a 10.
Erin Mitch says
Sew Me!
I would be a 2-3. I can sew a straight lone but that would be it! I want to learn how to sew beautiful clothes for my 2 kids.
erin says
Sew me! I’d say I’m a 5, maybe. I haven’t sewed in a long time but I would like to get better at it.
Mary Beth says
Sew Me!
I’m a 2 at best, but my mom is a 10. So when I have her help me, my projects end up a 6.
