Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

Whenever we went on vacation, I had to share a bed with my sister. My sister, though, is a thrasher, flailing around all night long. I would spend my vacation nights perched on the edge of the bed trying to escape the windmill. Never worked — I either fell out of bed or woke up black and blue.

I’m student teaching in Kindergarten and let me tell ya…sharing is one of the most difficult things to teach children! I guess I can’t blame them, though. I wouldn’t want to share some of the cool stuff that they have in school now-a-days ;)

SHARE ME! Until fifth grade, my younger sister and I shared a bedroom with a queen bed. I would always to try to get her to fall asleep (and leave me alone) with dumb tricks like, “Let’s play the quiet game – We’ll see who can be quiet the longest.” She would usually last about ten seconds before she started giggling and burst out with, “I lose! Let’s play again!”

SHARE ME! I do not like sharing a bathroom/closet ~ it is a work-in-progress though.

SHARE ME! In high school my sister and I were fighting over a shirt we both wanted to wear that day, She scratched me and I have a scar to this day, which I point out to her every time I see her. Still love her though.

SHARE ME! My husband and I bought an ipad recently and we were meant to share it… when I had to go out of town for work and brought it with me he was distraught.. when I got back a week later, he had bought another one for himself.

I shared a room with a co-worker while out of town for a weekend conference. And proced to sleep walk/talk around the room… not once, but BOTH nights we were in the hotel. Guess who hasn’t lived that one down?

SHARE ME …
I guess I was a pretty bad child (this is where my mom would roll her eyes, sigh and shake her head yes) … I had 3 siblings and we only had 2 bedrooms but I didn’t share past the age of 3 or so (guess it was all down hill from there)!!! But apparently I’ve grown out of it because now I share my bedroom with my 2 girls!!! I have a 4 bed house so they each have a room, which these days is more of a personal playroom! Since my divorce it’s been like 1 big slumber party in mom’s master bedroom for 3 years!!! There’s no one I’d rather share my room with though!!!

SHARE ME! When I studied abroad in London, I shared a single-bathroom flat with FIVE (count them, 5!) women. Somehow we survived.

Share Me! I had to share a room with my brother when we were little. It was annoying to have all his boy toys around my girly toys. We eventually got our own room and still co-mingled the toys because we had fun playing together.

SHARE ME! For a year I lived with 2 other girls and for some reason we thought it was a good idea to get this cute apartment even though you had to walk through one of the “bedrooms” to get to the only bathroom.

I grew up with 4 sisters and one bathroom. Needless to say, none of us had much privacy. Every one said they felt sorry for our Dad, but with the knock-down drag-outs we used to have over the mirror, I don’t think he missed sons! Fortunately, we are all best friends now.

Share me: Growing up my family and I went on all kinds of roadtrips and I hated them, primarily because I had to share the backseat of our station wagon with my two brothers. My parents tried many things to keep us entertained, but we often ended up fighting over space, what music to listen to, where to eat lunch, etc. However, now that we’re all older, all three of us treasure the fact that we’ve seen so much of the US, and we can laugh about how much we bickered on the road. And these shared memories have definitely kept us close during adulthood.

SHARE ME! I never had a problem with sharing when I was growing up, but any time I would go over to a friend’s house to play, my mom would have to remind me not to bite people. Embarassing :(

I shared a room with my 13 months older sister. We fought all the time, but sharing a room MADE us get along. One minute we’d be fighting (literally–we were rough) and the next minute we were sharing clothes! Ha! Girls :) It really helped our relationship a lot–I’m actually about to (ten years later!) move into an apartment with her. She’s my only sister (we have 4 younger brothers) so it’s nice that we get along so well now. But I really owe a lot of it to having to share that room with her. Mom and Dad knew what they were doing I guess, although I’ll never admit it!

My sister was always very stingy about sharing her food, when you would ask to try something or have a bite she would flat out refuse. Yet when she wanted something that you were eating she wouldn’t hesitate to ask before you even had your first bite!

Share Me!! I married and only child so the concept of sharing anything was mostly foreign to him for the first few years we lived together. He is much better now. It is amazing the things we learn from our siblings :)

My sister and I briefly shared a bedroom when we were younger. We didn’t need to or anything, there was plenty of space. But we thought it would be fun. It Wasn’t.

SHARE ME! My gross out story of the week is I took a day off work to disinfect our house from mouse remnants. On the plus side, it was my at-home work day so I didn’t have to cancel anything to do the cleaning and daycare was already lined up, no more “sharing” the house with a mouse who is now caught, and my house hasn’t been this clean since we moved in!

I shared a bed with my sister when we were little. We had stripey sheets. I would count “equal” stripes so we each had the same amount of room. She never understood why my side was so much roomier than her side!

My sister and I stared a bedroom for a good chunk of our childhood and I remember getting so mad at her I literally took a roll of painters tape and divided the room in half, with specific instructions to NOT cross that line! Hahah! Good thing she and I ended up friends as grown-ups. :)

SHARE ME- my poor father had to share a 1-bathroom house with my mom and 3 teenage girls for too many years. He’d have to get up at 5am just to be able to shower, and never complained once.
