Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! I remember asking my sister (6yrs younger) to share her giant chocolate chip cookie with me – she must have been about 3 at the time. She cut the cookie in half, then that half in half, then that half in half…until she handed me a piece of cookie the size of my pinky. She was all proud of herself, huge smile on her face, walking away saying “i good sharer”. Now my 3yr old is doing the same thing! Makes me laugh every time.

Ooops…forgot my story. When my cousin and I were quite young, we spent our summers together at my grandparents house. Everyday when my grandfather came home from work, he would pull all the money out of his pockets and let us count it. We got to split what was left after rounding the total down to the nearest $10. He would then take us shopping. One trip I found a doll that I wanted desperately but I didn’t have quite enough money to cover the cost. My cousin (who is almost 3 years younger than me) gave me some of his money so I could buy the doll. I’m nearly 50 now and I still have that doll!

SHARE ME!! As a mom of twins, my kids literally had to share me from the moment they were conceived. Sharing space inside my belly and being 5 days overdue, there wasn’t much space left for any of us (and just a sliver of space in bed for my husband). Hard work carrying multiple babies, but I do miss those moments of feeling two babes in there once in a while.

Share me! I love Diet Pepsi. I often buy one while out running errands and somehow my husband ends up “sipping” it all up. It is a time that I share, but wish I didn’t have to!

Thanks for your your dedication and I look forward to more cooky home improvement :)

But we’re hoping that we get to move out at the end of this month so this would be great, to help furnish our new home!!!

Share me! My older sister and I had to share a room for many years growing up. Our beds were on opposite sides and one day I came in to find my sister had put a line down the middle of the room (including through the closet!) to mark our respective areas.

My husband and I eloped, so to make it up to my Dad and step-mom we decided to spend the first weekend of our honeymoon visiting with them in NYC. Long story short — due to a very unfortunate mix up, we ended up sharing the honeymoon suite with them for the ENTIRE weekend! (Though I was mortified at the time, the experience has become a hilarious and special memory for all of us.)

Sharing a bathroom with my little sister our entire life growing up. Saying that neither one of us is a morning person would be the understatement of the century. Many a morning resulted in a yelling duel to the tune of “STOP LOOKING AT ME!” I’m sure it was miserable for my parents at the time; however, it made for some great stories :)

I once shared a hotel room with 6 other girls… a hotel room with one small bathroom, 2 double beds, and not enough towels. In case you are wondering, yes, it is possible to sleep 4 girls in one double bed.

SHARE ME! When you mentioned sharing a hotel room with a boss, I had to laugh. I once had to share a hotel room with my boyfriend and a coworker (male) during a hurricane for two days in New England without a rental car. We were leaving to go home from a business trip and turned in the rental car when all the flights were cancelled and they didn’t have any rooms because of a nascar event so we got stuck together. I’m actually kind of glad I had taken my boyfriend because I would have probably slept by the pool otherwise! My coworker spoke a foreign language and was on the phone all night talking about us I’m sure.

SHARE ME as an only child I never had to share much but as a married lady with a 7 month old there are very few things I don’t share!

SHARE ME! I have a funny one – when I was a kid my family of 4 used to share one bathroom. My mom would take a nightly bath and it was never a big deal to go in and ask her something or talk to her. My dad used to sit on the toilet (lid closed lol) and talk to her while she took her bath or wash her back, whatever… Well one day I walked in to tell her something – said what I had to and walked out. As I closed the door again my parents started laughing hysterically. Apparently my dad wasn’t just using the toilet as a seat this time, he was actually using it. I never even noticed…

I shared a room with my brother when my sister was born until she was able to be out of her crib in a bed. The best part of sharing a room was our bunk beds– we turned those into everything from a stagecoach to a pirate ship. And I loved sleeping on the top bunk even when my brother would extend both of his legs up into the air sending my matress a firm thump and leading me to tattle on him to our mother.

Growing up there were 6 people in my family and only 1 full bath that only had a bathtub. Compare that to now when everyone, even kids often have their own bathroom.

When I was in elementary school, there was a short period of time where I shared a room with my then toddler aged brother. I had done a really cool art project at school (drawing portraits of famous artists, but doing them upside down), and mine was Monet, and it was awesome. When I finally got to take it home, I laid it on my bed, only to come back a few hours later to find that my brother had scribbled all over it! Tragedy in the eyes of an 11 year old. I don’t remember exactly what it looked like, but I do remember that it was great.

I shared a room with my sister, and for some reason she thought we should share all our clothes too–without asking. It was normal to come across a new shirt of mine with a hole or a bleach spot. I don’t know what she did in those clothes!

SHARE ME! oh boy, one time when i was about 8, our family shared a vacation home with our family friends. i got lost and didn’t know which door was my parents’ bathroom. instead i walked into the bedroom of our friends to see the dad in his undies!

SHARE ME! Hmmm, a funny/touching/harrowing sharing story??? Let’s see…I have 2 kids, Allie will be 2 next month and Jack will be 4 in August, so I have TONS of funny/cute/touching stories. This week’s winner (so far): The kiddos were sitting on the couch right before bed watching Kung Fu Panda (for the 1,572,432 time). As the movie gets to the part where Po and Shifu arrive at the Pool of Sacred Tears, Jack turns to his sister and says: “Look Baby, it’s the Birthplace of Kung Fu!” It was so cute and sweet for a few reasons; 1) He’s seen the movie so many times, yet he still gets excited about it, 2)He wanted to share his happiness/excitement with his little sister, and 3)because he calls her “baby”. They are my heart, soul and entertainment every day.

Share Me! I did running start with Washington State University–part of the requirement to graduate was to take a computer class. I didn’t know anything about computers at that point, so I asked my roommate to sign me up for one. On the first day of class I rolled in to see “advanced programming–turn on your computers” written on the board. I took a seat next to some guy and couldn’t figure out how to turn on the computer. I asked the guy how to turn it on, he looked at me confused and pointed to the power button. Needless to say I dropped out of the class pretty fast.

My best friend and I once had to share a super tiny bed for a couple of days and the only way there was enough room was if we slept head to toe. The rules were that before bedtime we’d wash our feet in front of each other and then put on clean socks to ensure that if you got a foot in the face at least it would be a clean one.

SHARE ME! I took a Bradley birthing class before my little one was born. There were 6 couples and 3 of the babies shared a birthday! All natural, unmedicated births. It happened to be the weekend after Thanksgiving, so that’s what I attribute it to. We ate so much those babies had to get outta there! :)

SHARE ME! One of my best friends from school and I now live in different cities (DC and Chicago), but continue to share the same fashion sense — to the point where we’ll spend a weekend together and discover that we have (completely independently) purchased the exact same sweater, shoes, or something else. I guess we share a sort of fashion ESP!
